What happens to our program, if Walters does not end up getting let go this year?

There would have been no Walters hire if our previous carpetbagger coach had stayed.
I hate to break it to you, but Purdue Football is not a destination job for anyone who didn’t play at Purdue.

Schools have coaches leave all the time, it’s literally the AD’s job to replace them.

Being a Tennessee fan must be hard...

He basically had a coronary this week with the Big Ten having four of the top 5 and the horror of Georgia for now on the outside looking in.....coming from the biggest SEC apologist around and now completely panders.....the result of the shock/jock world, 24/7 media, and way too much $$$$$$$ in the sports......

END RANT......haha.

Oh, he's a Vols propagandist, kindof a childish one at that.

After the 2021 Music City Bowl he kept showing a graphic that Tennessee won the game 52-45. It was a nice touch for him to throw in an extra point that was never attempted.

Double-wide end lines … another part of the grand Bobo design

The layout of the football field is pretty cool, except for those lines you mention as double wide. It cost us a touchdown. I don't actually lay blame on the player or the coaches. The field crew, their superiors and that probably tops out at the athletic director should know better. Purdue is supposed to show intelligence along with its creativity, but this time they blew it. There has to be a voice of common sense within this part of the athletic program that would have caught this and fixed it.

Fire fire fire

All you people ever can’t do is fire the person in charge! Is that how your company you work for works? Fire your boss or your manager or your ceo when you are the ones not doing your job to make your business more successful!

How many of you have actually tried to help the team of the coaches and actually talked to coaches to find out what their issues are? How many of you have spent any time talking to the players?

How many of you have actually contributed more than $10,00 to the team? If you have contributed more than $1 million then yes, you can request the coach be replaced. But if all you’ve done is buy some tickets and beer, Then you have no business yelling Fire! You’re just like those who yelled hang Pence. Because you didn’t get your way!

You realize if Purdue fires Walters the money for his buyout and new coach will come from the money that’s earmarked for the NIL. So get a new coach and then have less money to buy your athletes. You also realize that if Purdue buys out their coach, that money is going to come from somewhere. And basically it’s going to come from you in higher ticket prices and higher beer and hot dog prices.

So unless you want to fork over $9 million, I suggest you stop your complaining.
You have the dumbest posts I've ever read. You're like Billy Madison and his rambling about the puppy who lost his way. The TV contract money alone could pay the $9 million buyout to Walters and $8-9 million per year to a new coach which is what Cignetti is getting at IU.

Meh, it'll just give Paul Finebaum something new to cry about.

My biggest complaint towards Purdue is that they have aggressively and lavishly spent money for improvements to sports facilities but don't make corresponding investments in leadership for those teams.

Case in point, Ross Ade Stadium. Since 2002, Purdue has spent ($70M) for a new press box and stadium seating (in the 2000's) and then have just completed a $45.4M investment in the south end zone and other improvements around the stadium. If my figures are correct, Purdue has spent over $115M on Ross Ade alone since 2002.

But when it comes to hiring coaches, Purdue pulls its pockets inside out and states they can only afford young assistant coaches who have no head coach experience, and that on-the-job-training is the only way to go. They spin this with the hopes that they will find the next "lighting in a bottle" head coach.

My advice to the Purdue Athletic Department and the BoT: Cut back on your lavishly spending on sports facilities by 20-30 percent and direct that money toward strategic hires of experienced coaching staffs for all sports.

It is pretty damn stupid to renovate the football stadium into a gilded monstrosity but then cheaply hire inexperienced and unproven coaches. At best, that will only guarantee Purdue finishing in the bottom quarter of a very high-profile league.
agree. I think since we hired Walters the economics have changed enough we now can afford to get better coaches. I do think the facilities will be helpful in recruiting coaches and players.

That’s crazy talk. There’s Thieneman, Jenkins, and Heldt who have somewhat high level ability. In the secondary, you have upperclassmen Stevens and Green, both of whom are absolutely horrendous. Then the true frosh Bradford and Grant who may end up fine but they’re not right now. Sillah and Ojata both are zeroes. Yanni and Miller at LB? That’s NAIA stuff. And then you have not one good player on the DL. None. We have at best marginal talent, and they are being coached poorly, so we get our faces kicked in every week.
I said 5-6 and you named 2 of them, Jenkins is out of time. I agree on D Line, I wouldn’t keep any of the current started/rotation but hope to develop some guys for depth instead of starting over. The others I’d keep are Breedlove, Beasley, Grant. They are talented enough to have a good secondary just poorly coached and young. Green would be a question mark, he shows flashes of talent. There’s your 5-6.

Better AD. Burke or Bobinski?

Burke did a lot to revitalize Purdue athletics and modernize facilities in the late 90s/early 2000s. On the other hand, his tenure became stagnant toward the end. He wiffed on Haze and probably held onto Sharon Versyp too long.

Bobinski made an initial splash by hiring Brohm, but Walters is looking like a collasal mistake. The Katie Gearlds experiment is still on very shaky ground, too.

Why Trump Needs to Drain the Swamp

I hear Washington is turning whistle-blower because she feels she is being the scapegoat.

Musk and Ramaswamy will quickly show not only waste but also graft and corruption. Gaetz will get the DOJ to investigate these incidents and send the Swamp participants to prison.

Trump has already done more good in ten days than Biden did in four years.
