Fire fire fire

All you people ever can’t do is fire the person in charge! Is that how your company you work for works?
Yes, i’ve seen executives, CEOs and presidents all let go for underperformance. Certainly they don’t keep their jobs for a historically bad performance.

Surprised you’d ask that. This is the way corporate America works, in order to stay competitive. Perhaps you’ve been mostly in a union organization, or perhaps a government department that has little accountability?

What happens to our program, if Walters does not end up getting let go this year?

Cowboys? Are you referring to Mike McCarthy after his first season posting a 6–10 record during the weird COVID year? If so, that’s a much higher winning percentage than our current season, and it wasn’t the low mark in the entire Cowboys franchise history like this season is to us.

Also, Mike Norvell at FSU might be having an equally dreadful season this year, however, last year his FSU team went undefeated during the regular season. Still I see no comparison.
The stupid Bears brought back Eberflus, who was 10-24 in 2 seasons, including a bunch of late game choke jobs, and had to fire 2 assistants mid season for off the field reasons and another after the season to save face. They did this rather than pairing the #1 pick QB with a new coach, and now he's had to fire another assistant mid season, is 14-30 overall, and losing in absolutely breathtaking fashion each week.

Jacobsen Update Anyone?

Prob a dumb question, but the medical redshirt will be in effect and thus we will still get four years from him starting next year, correct?

Medical redshirt is only available once eligibility is used up. He will be eligible for it, but technically he can't just call this year his medical redshirt year. He has to use his remaining 3 years + (optional) redshirt before that

Stanford 38 - L Ville 35

Whether I'd take him back or not is a hypothetical I don't indulge. I will say I wish he hadn't left but he did and his family couldn't get themselves to Louisville fast enough. They would never come back here anyway. Both sides would have to swallow way too much pride even if the stars otherwise aligned.
No way we should even consider it. I'm hearing from some fans there calling for his head others saying they are giving him one more year. I'm not a fan after what he did here, but they are nuts. You need to give someone a chance to get their players in place and Brohm has a proven track record. They could do a lot worse than Brohm. We know.

Biden getting us into WW III before leaving office.

Let's backtrack a bit. Biden started the Ukraine-Russia war by agreeing to allow Ukraine into NATO (link). For years, Putin warned that any former Warsaw Pact nation attempting to join join NATO would be considered an act of war. Yet Biden gave the green light for Ukraine to join and Putin started planning the invasion of Ukraine immediately.

So before you ask if giving up Ukraine land is acceptable to the EU or Ukraine, consider: (1) Can Ukraine possibly WIN a war against Russia? And (2), does Ukraine, the EU or the US want the current war escalated even further?

Yes we know why Putin invaded Ukraine.
To answer your questions:
No Ukraine can't win a war with Russia without help from the West.
No neither the US nor the EU wants escalation.

The philosophy was to keep supplying Ukraine with defensive weapons to fend off the Russian invasion.
Hoping Russian would drain itself from public support, militarily and financially and quit fighting.
In jumps North Korea. That philosophy just took a dump. The escalation has taken a leap.
Rocket man has nukes.
So it looks like a compromise where Russia takes part of Ukraine, The Russian controlled part Donbas, was in Trumps mind.
Of course speculation on my part.

So the question is why did Biden let Ukraine use the offensive weapons that Ukraine has had now for a couple of years?
IMO the EU wanted to use US resources to drain Russia. Biden complied. Trump probably wouldn't have. He has said the killing must stop before the war escalates. He has said he would end the war. The only way to accomplish this would be to give Russia, what they really already control, Donbas.

Jacobsen Update Anyone?

Yeah, I was hit hard recently. In my senior HS year there were four of us that met once or twice a week to play cards. When one of us passed this summer, I realized that I was the last one standing.
I don't know if you remember in the early seventies, Rick Miles took over as the voice of Purdue football. His dad was the voice before him. Rick moved around some, being program manager for a major Indy radio station, coached some great girls' basketball teams, and ended up as the head of the Houston ESPN office. He fought cancer for a couple of years, enjoyed some great European cruises, but lost his battle about a year ago. One of my very best friends over the long haul.

Can’t line up correctly

I was unclear in my last response - I was referring to Mock. I think he would be a huge loss. Agree on Klare.
I think Mock gets the most out of his talent. He runs hard, seems to have figured out the fumbling problem of last year. But he's not a difference maker. He'll get that 3-6 yards, but none of our RBs have that ability to get the corner and outrun people. As a former walkon now on scholie, I'm sure he's grateful for that but I don't think there's much NIL opportunity for him out there in the market.

Worst Purdue Football Coach in your lifetime

Been around since Mollenkopf. Boob DeMoose was a decent position coach but a terrible HC. The Young and Brohm eras were to short to give them high props. Hope was Hopeless. Hazzell is still somewhere reviewing film. Walters appears to be out to lunch. I see him on the sidelines and he seems detached with his eyes glazed over like he's been smoking some good stuff. Maybe that's just the look of someone who's on a much higher cerebral level than the rest of us.
All I can say is that back in the day I thought myself pretty darn cerebral when I occasionally indulged.

How important is the Marquette game?

All games are important, obviously, but should Purdue go into Marquette and pull out a win, only strengthens the foundation being built by Painter and team. It raises the stakes, mefua hype, eyes, etc. for the approaching games in Dec (e.g., #4 Aub). No diss to the B10 games between now and then.

Stay in the top 5 with a chance to move to #1 in coming weeks only fuels recruiting and funding.

Make Purdue Great Again!!

Make Purdue Forget About Football Again!

I think you misunderstood me. Klare is one of the few bright spots on our offense. Good athlete, good route runner, solid hands. He'll play in the NFL. I think if Walters is kept around, Klare will shop his services and find a winning program that features the TE.
