Why is he still employed?

I'm wondering the same thing. What in the hell is there to discuss?
way over rated coach, when he coached the Eagles they didn't care for him at all.Chip Kelly might be on the hot seat.
I think you need to hit the lotto almost to get a guy that fits exactly what I described.that's why I said from a mid major, chance to play on a bigger stage
Chip Kelly might be on the hot seat.Urban Meyer will only return to coaching if it’s Ohio State.
Egg-on-your-face comment by Meyer at halftime of “The Game”…Ohio State has an advantage at the wideouts…and it’s not even close. You can plainly see it on the field. Then…the Buckeyes go out in the 2nd half and…score 0 points!🤣😂😧
that's why I said from a mid major, chance to play on a bigger stagePpl keep thinkin these 6’8-6’9 athletic, double digit scorers that are ok with being the 6-9th guy off the bench and 5th-9th scoring option are just dying to join a P5 school.
damn.....that is a sad realization....How far this program has fallen in 2 years. I do agree though, that if the commitment is made, you can make a big turnaround quickly in the NIL and portal environment.Imagine...two years ago today Purdue had advanced to the B1G championship game, and today we aspire to be like IU, one the most unsuccessful programs in college football history.
It's horrifying, but if the proper commitment is made and a smart hire is made the tables can be turned quickly.
Our lack of passing scheme makes everything worse. If we had any talent anywhere you'd never know because they never get the ball. We run horizontal for 2 plays, then get a panic throw on 3rd down 5 yards short of the sticks. Absurd offense. That receiver Sirat sp, Purdue doesn’t have anyone near his ability. Their qb is a lot better maybe because of the weapons he has or by just being an older player.
That receiver Sirat sp, Purdue doesn’t have anyone near his ability. Their qb is a lot better maybe because of the weapons he has or by just being an older player.Agreed, but from a size, speed, talent level (other than a few positions, like LB and RB), iu doesn't not have a significant advantage. It's not like say, Purdue and Texas for example. It's coaching and everything that goes with it.
I've been wondering how many of the upsets this college season were "4 year teams" (teams that have played together, either at the same school they started at or transferred en masse), against top teams with 4 and five star players for hire. Vanderbilt may fit that example? Going forward I'm going to say it will be a big difference maker. Maybe not for title contenders, but for strong teams that can wreak havoc on the "new normal" transfer and portal Big Boys.Probably no more than one. They are now older players with a coach that knows what is expected from them. Continuity means a lot to these teams. Painter has been able to do it thus far.
Brad Stevens is not replacing Woody??Meyer or Gruden is silly wishful thinking like IU is bringing in those type of coaches for basketball.
Iowa also was 0 - 10 on 3rd down conversionsIowa had 5 first downs and somehow beat Nebraska. I only mention that to remind people that selling one's soul to the devil is a real thing.
Yep. Increases the likelihood of them taking their collective balls (every pun intended) and going off to make their own league where they set the scheduling to the best benefit and their own championship that slates who they want.SEC and Big 10 killing each other during the season, and they will get no benefit from that with the playoff committee. Crossing the country in the Big10 every week going to get old as well.
embarrassed. Theyve been embarrassed. They work hard year round to compete and they have nothing to show for it except all time records for losses and point margins. Im shocked we didnt see more issues on the sidelines. I fear purdue is caught with their pants down. I hope they didnt plan on offering up a new commitment to the program by getting an expensive oc to calm the masses. If so, they grossly underestimated what a horrible hire walters was and that the players and fans will leave in large numbers. He needs fired today. Bobo needs to talk to the players and what recruits we have left and give everyone a sense that purdue is committed to winning. I honestly feel bobo should have been let go during the season and wslters at the bye but something needs done with urgency now.I don’t see how any player would want to play for Walters after this year. He is terrible at player evaluation and has no clue on making adjustments . He can talk all he wants, but talk means nothing, it’s what happens that matters
Meyer or Gruden is silly wishful thinking like IU is bringing in those type of coaches for basketball.I had high hopes for Walters and, at the same time, anticipated this to be a down year.
If we decide to clean house, who do we bring in?
What are the thoughts on Robert Selah. Urban Meyer, or Jon Gruden?
Imagine...two years ago today Purdue had advanced to the B1G championship game, and today we aspire to be like IU, one the most unsuccessful programs in college football history.Yup. Money isn't the problem. It's a weak excuse. Money will be a problem with you only have 20,000 people show up for home games.
As I said earlier, iu committing $72M to their HC did Purdue a favor.
The question remains: who do we go after?
"How much?"What do we say to attract them?
