That’s the thing that I have trying to convey. They are conditioned to believe that blacks and other minorities are not smart enough and good enough to be hired for the same positions as whites. But since in their minds, white women are smart enough and they say absolutely nothing about them benefitting from affirmative action/DEI more than any other minority.
That's not what people on the right believe at all. You're just pulling shlt out of your azz. Nobody on the right cares the color of the skin of the person that is hired.

Don't come to us saying that you're only looking for someone of such and such race before making a hire.

1. Because by definition that's racist
2. By limiting your search by 90% or more, you're almost guaranteed to NOT find the best or most qualified candidate
3. You are continuing racism by performing acts of racism.

As Morgan Friedman once said. The only way to get rid of racism is to stop talking about it. DEI puts a huge FUKKING spotlight on racism.

We have laws against racism and discrimination. It should be fought against in the court of law wherever it exists. Other than that, we need to STFU about it and hire the BEST candidate no matter the race.

It's people like you that are conditioned to believe that people on the right think (insert leftist narrative of people on the right). The only proof needed is the fact that you consistently get wrong what people on the right actually think.

I've gone round and round with you on similar topics over the years and can't actually believe that I'm wasting my time here because you're so GD brainwashed that you always ignore everything I show you, no matter how solid the evidence is backing my position.

Only racist people would call an ethnic group, oriental. Oriental is a rug. When referred to the people in that region, Asian is the proper term.

If there were no such thing as racism in America, we would never need to have affirmative action or DEI. White folks have historically hired or admitted into schools other whites regardless of qualifications. DEI gives other ethnic groups an equal chance in gaining employment or entry to college that they normally would not have. I see DEI as a form of reparations for past injustices in hiring practices in this country.
@Boiler Buck Only in America is the term oriental considered racist. Someone several years ago in America decided this totally innocuous word was suddenly offensive. “A rug is Oriental, not a person!” And it stuck.

But, in other English speaking countries, it’s not offensive. Because…. it’s not offensive. An offensive word is a word that is either coined to be offensive or misused on purpose to be offensive. Oriental is neither. It means ‘eastern’. “Oooh, I’m so offended! You called that person whose background is eastern, eastern!”

Americans prefer to use the word “Asian” to refer to people of the Far East. But in the UK “Asian” means people from South Asia (Pakistan, India, Bangladesh). Oriental is used for the East Asia and Southeast Asia. And nobody is offended.

But these things aren’t limited to America. British people mistakenly think “Eskimo” is pejorative (because Canadian Inuit don’t like being called Eskimos anymore, even though they are, but Alaskan Eskimos do because they are and are not Inuit, but Iñupiat) and use “Inuit”. But if you want to insult an Alaskan Eskimo? Call him an Inuit. It’s the same as calling a Scot English.

Just like with “Oriental”, it’s not an insult. People just think it is out of ignorance or misdirected anger.

Colvin and Heide yikes

In my opinion, this is in a large part related to Painters offensive scheme. His decision he’s going to focus on his top 2-3 players to do the majority of the work the majority of the time. His third player is usually the other scoring option based on scheme. Yes he has a ton of plays/sets but our offense is run mostly through Smith and TKR. Pick and roll variations … the problem is teams are well aware and have found a game plan to limit the effectiveness. Aggressive D on Braden and push him away from the 3point line, the pick now is coming not near the elbows but several feet outside the 3 point line. Hard hedge brief double team Then drop off on TKR. Smith struggling to drive off of hedge and the short drop pass coming way to far out limiting TKR effectiveness and causing turnovers. Loyer is next option but this team is not setting good screens (damn I miss Zach) . Loyer has played pretty well most games but his funky drives to the basket have been harder and less effective. That leaves us with the two other players… Colvin and Heide are afterthoughts. They aren’t involved except setting picks and posting up outside the arc. I even think I’ve noticed Smith ignoring them on passes when open (I think that’s a different story). Paint has stated those guys can shoot when open but they shouldn’t be hunting shots. There’s no motion creating looks for guys. The ball tends to stagnate at times and then a forced pass … I truly believe the entire team would be more aggressive and engaged if we moved the ball quickly ran more motion and created plays for all 5 guys on the court. Harder to guard and creates more pressure on the D. It appears to me the guys are hesitant to shoot or drive being that’s not in the plays and the hesitation then makes it more difficult to score. Anyone else come away feeling like they are seeing what I’m describing? And no I’m not saying I’m a better coach than Painter. I’m saying there have been games where what the team is trying to force isn’t working and maybe changing it up some and getting all 5 guys on the floor actively trying to score might be worth a shot?

Klare to OSU

I'll be interested to see what kind of numbers he puts up and how long OSU puts up with subpar blocking.
I’m skeptical that he can have a season at OSU to match either of his at Purdue numbers wise. I think he’s looking at a marginal role there, and his production is cut in half from what he’s had here. He better get to bulking up and embrace blocking or he’ll be in the portal again looking for a team to use him as a pass catcher.

IU did not deserve to be in CFP. Great article by USA Today

Not “everyone.” And IU didn’t “only” lose by ten. They just plain lost by ten; 27-17.

They also won 11 games and had an extraordinary season. Those writers and his coaching peers overwhelming voted him as national coach of the year. I think he’d sleep just fine knowing that your opinion of him matters… to you.

And then he’ll be up at 4:30 am to work towards making it happen again next year. It’s no fluke and it’s no accident that the man and his staff win,
Oh my apologies. I guess just the group of IU fans I watched the game with. They were literally pissed by his coaching and gutless calls the entire game saying how different it was. Then again they probably arent on the Purdue board after midnight still seeking validation.

Cig coach scared against ND. Knew he was overmatched and why every announcer and everyone watching the game asked why the f-ck he was punting late in the game down so much. Was going for the “we only lost by x narrative”.

Tom Allen coached and scheduled scared?

You betcha.

Pretty sure Cig ain’t scared tho. He has clearly informed all that IU is an emerging superpower and betting against Curt Cignetti is bad idea.

Whatever the reason, they cancelled the game and opted to play a terrible non conference. A road win at Louisville would've been their best win. But they didn't want to play it because they thought they'd lose.

New 5, 6th man

At this point why not give Waddell some minutes? He has a scholarship and that scholarship prevented us from getting someone in the portal.

He has shown ability to score and play. If Colvin/Heide aren’t clicking, throw him out there. Maybe that sends a message
When and against who has he shown that ability? What Big Ten Team? What good D-1 team in prime time?

Who follows Kramer and Jordan on X?

I thought someone out of Furst, Berg or Brugess would be able to step up. It hasn’t happened. Tkr would be more effective as a 4 and Heide would be more effective coming off the bench as a role player.

Before he came to Purdue many said Myles was an nba prospect. He’s sure not a one and done. And he’s not going to be a 2 and done either.

Many said Harris was going to be awesome . He looks like a normal freshman with freshman inconsistency.

I have no idea why Burgess is having stamina issues!

Catchings would have been an awesome help. The problem with Catchings is he decommitted too late in the year to be able to use his scholarship on any player in the portal. The good ones were already taken.

I’m quite certain if Catchings had decommited earlier, painter would have found someone in the portal at the wing or big. Or he may have recruited another BIG instead of Cox.

Painter signed Cox because he was recruiting the guy he was playing against.

We’re not a bad team. But many fans here always have too high of expectations. Braden will probably not be an All American. And Purdue will not be a final 4 team.

Enjoy what we had last year. Look for a 20 win season And maybe a sweet 16. Most fans would be happy with that type of result!
Saw Catchings play 2 or 3 times early in the season, but never saw anything from him that led me to believe he would be getting mins here. Plays just like Colvin did last year (stand around perimeter and look for an open 3 the entire game) and zero defense. I see absolutely no way that he could play the 4.

Straw man. There is no large group of people saying Purdue sucks. I can’t find one post. Discussing shortcomings yes. Discussing who needs to improve for Purdue to have some success in the league and the tournament yes. Talk about hitting the portal to fulfill needs to go really far next year yes. Discussing the types of teams that bother Purdue most, yes. All good.
There's a cottage industry of some fans proving they are better and more loyal fans than other fans and overreacting to any criticism at all or silly criticism from a handful of people
