IU did not deserve to be in CFP. Great article by USA Today

Good lord I’ve never seen a fanbase seek validation as much as this one even after getting their doors blown off. IU wasn’t on the same level. Everyone who watched the game knew that in the first 10 min. Finebuam isn’t the only one saying this. Herbstreit said it, USA Today, etc. We aren’t going out on some crazy limb here saying IU didn’t belong. You got in cause your schedule was a joke. Plain and simple. If you didn’t back out of playing Lville we likely aren’t even having this conversation as it’s not a given IU would’ve won. Congrats on the successful season and taking advantage of a crap schedule where any other year you’re prob looking at an 8-4 or 9-3 team. Enjoy it because the committee will ensure no matter how many CYO cadet teams you schedule it’ll never happen again.

The people that are saying PU sucks are probably the ones that think Painter has run his course with us. We live in an instant gratification society, especially on social media.

We knew that this was going to be a young team, and it was going to take time for us to gel. I don't see this team gelling until late January. The biggest concerns for this time right now is perimeter defense (but this was a problem last year), rebounding outside of TKR, FT shooting (especially TKR with all of the attempts he is going to get), and the inconsistence of scoring outside of TKR and Smith. People talking about Colvin and Heide all of time needing to step up, and they need to for sure, but Loyer doesn't seem to get mentioned as much. Loyer, with his shooting ability, should be lighting it up every game, but that has not happened.

We will get there. The sky has not fallen.
my take on Loyer , at the beginning of the year I thought he turned the corner and would be more consistent but he seems to be reverting back to the 2 previous yrs where he has a tendency to disappear in games

We don’t suck but we aren’t playing up to our potential. Cam and Myles have to get involved downhill and attacking - can’t have games where they give us 0 points.

Need more minutes from Cox and he has to go hunting for his shots.

I don’t want to see Furst on the floor until senior night or mop up duty.

I want Painter to give minutes to Waddell. At this point, why not. You kept him on scholarship and didn’t go to the portal. At least use him.
more Burgess too

Of course subjectivity comes into play. But are you SERIOUSLY arguing it's that subjectivity, NOT racism or misogyny or a multitude of other biases, that's responsible for qualified minorities being passed over in favor of white people? wtf? Yeah, 150 years of racism isn't the reason. It's because the qualifications were close or identical and the white guy just happened to be the subjective choice..........over and over and over. Get a clue or admit the truth.
No, I was simply responding to your comment that seemed to be saying that subjectivity is not involved in hiring. SERIOUSLY.

1. No, we don't suck

2. Yes, we are a flawed team that had same said flaws covered up by Jones and Edey last year.

3. Yes, we do play to win games against Auburn in December. I don't care what Kramer says, we play to win them all and they are all important come March. End of the world? No. But don't pretend like games in December aren't important.

4. Yes, all of the teams' goals are still in front of them. However, lose too many more games and the ultimate goal will be much harder to accomplish.

Illinois and UCLA look to be the early favorites for BT

Massey BT Predications:
1. Illinois 18-2
2. UCLA and Purdue 17-3
4. Michigan St 16-4
5. Maryland 15-5
6. Ohio St. 14-6
7. Michigan and Penn St. 12-8
9. Iowa and Wisconsin 11-9
11. Oregon and Northwestern 10-10
13. Nebraska 6-14
14. Indiana 5-15
14. USC, Rutgers and Washington 3-17
18. Minnesota 1-19
Would love this to come true, but I don't see any way that we only lose 2 more games in conference. That would be an awesome season. I think 6-7 losses is more likely.

If you have 2 guys trying out for a wide receiver position, 1 black, 1 white. They're both 6'2, 210#, have the same experience level, same 40 time, same vertical, same shuttle time, same 225lb bench reps, But, there's only room for one more scholarship, who you giving it to?
You don't think hiring involves a large element of subjectivity?

Have you ever hired anyone?

B1
Purdue has taken their lumps, but is there another team in B1G with 3 top 25 (26) wins?

Until someone other than TKR/Smith/Loyer is consistent 5-7 sounds right though.

Still a long season and if any combo of Colvin, Heide, Cox can consistently be productive this team will be right there in the end.
B1G Quad 1 wins:

4 Oregon
3 Purdue
2 Wisconsin, OSU, Illinois, UCLA

No one else has more than 1.

Colvin and Heide yikes

Nope.

But as an IU fan I can absolutely state that IMO Braden Smith is the single fiercest competitor in the B1G.

That's worth a ton, but it doesn't allow a 5'11 guard to consistently score over size when he's trying to create his own shot late in the shot clock. And that's what his role has turned into too often this year.
Agree.

Unfortunately, we've put a ton of weight on his limited play and expect a different outcome.

He's definitely a tough nosed player and wants to win badly.
