Conservatives Against Trump

“Conservatism is respect for the rule of law. It is respect for tradition,” [former Reagan Solicitor General Charles Fried] said. “The people who claim they’re conservatives today are demanding loyalty to this completely lawless, ignorant, foul-mouthed president.”

For those of us who voted for him, it's not like we didn't know who he was. I kinda thought he would chill on the twitter attacks after he won, but he hasn't. I didn't vote for an angel or a moral man. Policy wise I think he's been great and there's no question in my mind we got the better candidate for the country. Would I take mitch daniels over him? all day baby. but that ain't happening. and if it's sanders/warren/biden at the helm then it's trump again for me. unapologetically so in the face of those choices. Maybe the libertarians will get their act together.

I understand the "calculus" of overlooking faults in favor of benefits - even though I disagree.

I wonder, though, if there are people for whom Trump's unwillingness to stop the Twitter antics and move even a little towards a Center might swing their vote the other way...or who might decide to stay home on election day.

It was always unlikely that Trump would be able to win my vote for reelection, as an example. But my grandmother, who held her nose and voted for him in 2016, is likely going to not vote at all in 2020.

My guess....and I don't know the lady, but your grandmother will vote. That's what older folks do. And, if she voted for him the first time, she'll be likely to do so again because the Dem's have no one...NO ONE. Unless you're a socialist, communist, or facist.

And the Republicans will have NO ONE, either.....unless pathological liars, megalomaniacal narcissists, and/or profound personality disorders are your thing...…..

Sen. Warren's publicly acknowledged lies can be counted on one hand.

Pinocchio Trump's 13,000+ mis-truths would need a large portion of the hands of all the bystanders at the upcoming Macy's Parade.
You’re either a liar or you are not. Both liars.

How are they not both molesters? You’re creepy. Wow.
No, actually there's nothing creepy involved in creating a legitimate comparison, here....sorry you didn't approve of the subject matter... Dr. Larry Nassar ACTUALLY EXISTS. And his crimes are a matter of public record, recognized by tens of millions of Americans. Since you're over 18, are you sure you're in need of "creepy" protection from mention of his name & crimes ???????????????

Did I, or would ANYBODY suggest that the described persons are not both molesters ??

In court..and in the COURT OF PUBLIC OPINION...do you believe the judges/juries hearing evidence
involved in both of the cases would consider the overwhelming difference in OCCURENCES of the crimes committed ??

Yes ??

Then Americans are also smart enough to differentiate between Trump and Warren, as well.
You DO know that, right ??

I'm not going to play word games with you....when you consider the degree of the offense to be irrelevant. As I said, the CJS we live by everyday takes a different approach.
It does allow you to equate trump's lying with any other politician.
So you've got that going for you, which is nice.

Nice rationalization.

What about the unemployment rate? The number of unfilled jobs? Consumer confidence? GDP isn’t the only measurement of the health of the economy.
Yes, the unemployment rate has continued the same downward trajectory that has existed since the 2009 recession peak, as shown from the Current Population Survey Chart. So let's have a round of applause for the Obama and Trump administrations.

The unemployment rate is as low as it’s been in 50 years. It’s a lot harder to go from 5% to 3.7% than from 10% to 5%.

Good one, New Pal.
BOTH liars.
One , in all probability, like billions of people here on Earth.....occasionally uttering a mistruth.
The other, Trump,....A prolific, prodigious, almost incomprehensibly dishonest liar.

End of conversation to you. Liar's a liar.

Somewhere in a large city, last night....somebody shot and killed a guy in the middle of a drug deal.
Years ago, somewhere in Connecticut......some guy brutally blew away TWENTY-ONE SIX YEAR OLD CHILDREN.

Paraphrasing the ever-insightful, always brilliant Intellectual of the Board :
" your either a (murdurer) or not "

The one and only.....New Pal.

What else is she lying about?

Since the Democrats are impeaching Trump, who will she vote for? Maybe Trump will run again after he gets impeached.

What, in the name of God, are you referring to ?? Something about Sen. Warren ????

Are we officially finished recognizing the difference between Donald Trump, and almost everyone else on earth ??

I would hope so.
On to the next conversation.
Have fun losing again!

coach keady and calipari both had wins taken away by the ncaa

it would be similar as trying to equate the coaches ethics/cheating

Resorting to calling others stupid is a sign of weakness in the Land of Adults.
Or it’s an accurate representation of conservatives. Now we could argue on if they really are that way, or if they just have to act like it to justify their positions.
