Hammons/Haas
Edwards/Smotherman/Taylor
Davis/Cline
Mathias/Stephens
And I have confidence that CMP will land a PG with PJ and Weatherford

Cp if we could get that nova point guard there's no reason why we shouldn't be a big contender and a 3-4 seed team smh

Yes! #1 seed guaranteed!

I'm serious when I ask this. Are you the most pessimistic unrealistic alum or just a troll with no life?

We get Ennis and we win the Big ten or give Maryland a run for there money. We finished tied for 3rd and only lose JO we should be very deadly! Hammons will be POY! Davis will get DPOY!

Honestly, I know people are gloom and doom about this and it is annoying that we lost another one to MSU but in my opinion this miss does not hurt nearly as bad as many of the other misses in the past. We have the 4 and 5 spots locked down. Swan would have just been icing on the cake. As many have said, we will be a top 25 team next year if AJ comes back. This miss isn't nearly as costly as missing the likes of Harris/Dawson/Randle/Holmes etc...

I agree Purdue will be solid , and even better if the shooting improves, I don't see how Swanigan would make that much difference next year, maybe in a couple years, but not this coming year!

The problem is .... It's still a miss. This story is getting old. I've got to be honest. If I was highly touted recruit I would never play for Painter. His style of ball is slow and boring and his player turnover is horrible. I hate it when kids pick MSU over Purdue, but why wouldn't you.?

Look, you guys may not be able to admit it, but this is getting really old. I'm not saying Painter should land every single recruit he wants....but C'mon Man!!! Glenn Robinson is the last Mr. Basketball winner to come. You know, every once in a while you need to land a big fish or you're just not getting it done. Something somewhere needs to change. Either Painter needs to go, or he needs to find someone to recruit for him...or teach him how. Or, maybe, Painter needs to recruit EVERY Blue Chipper like he did with Swanigan. Get out there and bust his ass! He's doing fine with the lower level talent, but he must sprinkle in some top players if we're going to do anything special like an Elite8 or win the B10G.

Solid but?

Kinda ironic that in this day and age of fast paced offenses in both college football and basketball for 90% of the country, Purdue has reverted to a 1960's style of play in both! Truly though if we could block and tackle much better we could succeed in football and if we could shoot better from the outside and at the freethrow line we could progress farther in conference and tournament play!

Comes down to coaching fundamentals to the players you have or recruiting players that already can do what you want!

I agree with the part that, maybe he need to get a Frank Kendrick type recruiter in here & go after more 5* recruits. It's hard to land them when you only go after 1 every other year. I do think this team with this talent, can win the B1G and even an national championship. Wisky didn't have any higher recruits and they almost did I it.

Well then you shouldn't have been too disappointed with Swanigan's decision!!! Seriously, some of you guys never thought PU had a chance with CS, then when it was apparent he wasn't coming to PU you fly off the handle and lament about how CMP should have landed the big one......???? I think it's safe to say that you haven't liked a PU coached team, and its style, for some 30+ years then LOL.

Not flying off the handle, I would have been absolutely shocked if CS picked Purdue. Never thought he would come to Purdue. And I said, why would he? Purdue has not adjusted to the style of play that wins today. This style worked in the past, times change, I think coaches should adapt to it. Just my opinion.

Do you know how many transfers there are a year these days?

So far this year in the Big Ten, 9 players from 7 schools have announced they are transferring - not including Scott.

Last year, there were 26 transfers from Big Ten schools not including Ronnie Johnson.

There is only 1 school in the Big Ten that has not had a transfer in just the last 2 years.
