This was a game that Purdue should have won handily. Marshall was completely unimpressive. We gave them 21 on a silver platter and squandered opportunity after opportunity. There were some unfortunate calls that went against us as well, but we just flat blew a game today.

Some of the playcalling was just mind boggling, especially in the 2nd half when we could have salted this thing away. But ultimately, Appleby is just not a good QB, and I can't see to many wins with him in the lineup. He's a big, strong kid who competes hard, but he just isn't any good. If he is clearly our best option, then this team is screwed, which is what I and others said all along. We can't overcome such poor QB play.

On a positive note, Knox and Jones look wonderful. Knox was especially impressive. Love the way that kid runs, he's a five foot seven inch wrecking ball.

Overall, what a gut punch, and it looks like another long year ahead.

Well said HUD. 100% agree. Can't imagine why the coach cannot see that AA is just bad. Same with Shoop. This season is going to look a lot like 2 years ago with Henry.

Hey go back and watch the game and tell me how many calls you would have challenged if you were coaching pud
ue. There was a TD that should not have been, do you know which one? No I doubt it.

If you thought the calls went against Purdue, I pity your stupidity....

That overturned fumble was complete bullshit. The official emphatically ruled fumble and recovery, and was overruled for forward progress WHICH WAS NOT CALLED. That play was not blown dead. Horible overrule there. Also there was a critical 3rd down where a blitzer took a pretty good shot at Appleby to his head. Literally a punch to the QB's head...no call. Also what a weak ass late hit on the red head that gave a TD to Marshall. I know you're still freaking out over that no call for PI where the ball landed 25 yards beyond the receiver though. lol

Lets see I will go back and watch... however off the top of my head, there was a 4th and 1 Purdue was gifted after not being whistled stopped of progression and allowed to move forward, ( this was repeated again for the Applebee touchdown) , there was an obvious Offensive pass interference on Purdue, 2 defensive pass interference that were in key points in the game. Just to name a few

LMAO Aplpeby got that 1st down 4th down by like 2 yards

The sneak for a TD was questionable, I will give you that, but honestly we smash that in on 4th anyways.

However having said that, I am really not trying to bash, I will have to go back and watch the replay as in the stadium I was watching through HERD eyes, and like to hear the opinions of the other side.

All in all I really enjoyed the atmosphere today and the Purdue fans that I was able to chat with before/during/after the game were a pleasure to have here in Huntington and wish safe travels. This was emotional for me as a Herd fan and amazingly entertaining throughout the entire game which we have not witnessed in a while.

Much respect for Purdue for being willing to travel to a "non-power 5" school and if they were to schedule in the future another series would definitely love to make the trip over there.

officiating was very fair. didn't hurt or help either team. Marshall was much quicker, Purdue bigger but slower. Marshall's offensive scheme was hard to figure, why they didn't run Johnson more on quick hitter's was hard to figure, he only carried 11 times, averaged 8.1 yards. Game was close and fun to watch. Purdue is much improved, but schedule is tough, wins will be hard to come by

Yeah genius I guess you missed the part where I said Appleby is bad and cost us the game. That doesn't mean there weren't other things that hurt as well. Piss off.
