IU didn't kick a PAT after scoring the last TD with no time left.

Obviously it didnt matter, but I remember the Vikings still needed to kick their PAT after scoring a last second TD against the Saints in the playoffs a few years back.

Is this a new rule? Or has it been this way for some time in college?

In NCAA play, the try is only attempted if it could affect the outcome. Ironically, the NFL changed to the same rule the season after that epic Saints/Vikings game.

I was wondering about this as well...I sort of forgot about it in all the excitement.
