I had high hopes for Walters and, at the same time, anticipated this to be a down year.

If we decide to clean house, who do we bring in?

What are the thoughts on Robert Selah. Urban Meyer, or Jon Gruden?

Pass on Saleh. Need a proven head coach and offensive mind. He’s neither.

None of the above. Saleh should go back to being a DC in the NFL. Meyer and Gruden would laugh at Bobo. Gotta be realistic here.

My first choice is to throw $8m a year at Chris Klieman and give him a huge assistant salary pool. Time for him to cash in and the timing is right with the big ten running away with TV money and B12 a sinking ship financially. We’ve got about $15m-$20m more revenue next year let’s spend it.

Jamey Chadwell at Liberty

Or we can sit around thumbing our balls while other B1G and SEC schools snap them up, so we can “save” $3 million….

Colorado Coach Prime. He's on the verge of flipping 2 USC commits, 5 star QB Julian Lewis and a 4 star OL. QB Lewis just cancelled his IU visit. Plus bring over any of the eligibility remaining Colorado WRs like Jimmy Horn and Omarion Miller. Keep the quality receivers that Purdue have now. Bring over 5 star OL Seaton and any members of the much improved OL and DL. Coach Prime will bring over the best DL coach in college football, Warren Sapp plus the other Colorado coaches that have loads of NFL experience like the OL coach, DB coach, LB coach and both coordinators.

Right, W Laf is just the kind of town he will be drawn to.

He is going to the NFL if anywhere right after the annual firings.

Naw, he ain’t going to the NFL. Realistically he is on the verge of building a mini dynasty at Colorado. Perhaps you are correct about not coming to West Laf but he would be my choice, particularly since I don’t see any of the blue blood coaches coming.

FSU’s not hiring a guy from Jackson State, not even Deion.
Well, perhaps that’s why Florida State is 1-9 and Colorado is 7-2 and most likely will be playing BYU in the Big 12 championship. I bet they wish that they hired Coach Prime now. FSU missed out having Shedeur Sanders and Heisman front runner, Travis Hunter. They are doing pretty good for being former Jackson State players aren’t they? They all could have been at Purdue if they would have hired Coach Prime.

Come on… Deion had 1 year of college coaching experience at Jackson State when FSU hired Norvell in late 2020. No Power 5 school would have hired him then, let alone a national power like FSU.

Coach Prime is a winner. Multiple TX state championships. He won at Jackson State, where he was there 3 years not 1 and made it to the SWAC championship game 2 years I believe. Right now there are probably several schools going after him. Purdue should be one of them. He’s not going to coach in the NFL but he does seem very happy where is at though.

Had been at Jackson State one year, his only year of college coaching experience, when FSU hired Norvell four years ago.

Could not find anything showing Sanders won multiple TX championships or any championship. Some of his HS teams were sub-par. Sanders would not leave CO to coach at Purdue. Would be a step down. If he goes anywhere, will be a perennial top 5 or top 10 team. May only be a small number of teams that fall into that group. FSU, USC if they were to change coaches. FLA may be looking, not sure Sanders would go there.

He founded a prep school that got shut down.

I don’t think it’s a step down going from B12 to B1G as Purdue will have more financial resources to pay him more long term. But I think the quality of life is better in Colorado and I don’t think prime time will be as motivated by money to leave. I also suspect if he leaves he will go to a more prestigious job like Texas, Ohio State, Michigan, USC, etc.

Coach Prime was offensive coordinator at Trinity Christian High School when they won 3 state championships in the private school division.

Currently at Colorado, Sanders is on the verge of opening up a pipeline of players from IMG Academy.

Breaking news: Jack del Rio, long-time NFL coach, is suddenly available.
He’s only available because of being convicted of a DUI last week. I guess that’s the type of coach you want. You could care less what happens off the court as long as he wins games.

If Purdue wants Deion Sanders, I would point out what I see as an uptick in successful Christian Coaches in the Big Ten. If someone would do some research, I think we could explain to Deion how important this movement is. Colorado, I don't believe is, and this would be a powerful reason to convince him to come to Purdue. The insiders know more about this than I do. What do you think?

Rhett Lashley looks really good, probably can't get him but worth a shot.

Dickert.

Bob Chesney has done an awful lot of winning for a guy still so young.

Matt Campbell, Iowa State.

Will only be 45 years old at season’s end. Has demonstrated real loyalty to ISU (not a job hopper always looking for a bigger opportunity). Other than one or two down seasons, has consistently won and has defeated Big Ten schools more often than not with fewer resources and prestige. Is a Midwest guy having coached at a land grant university for the last nine seasons. Team is 7-2 so far this season.

Most importantly, he has extensive head coaching experience and could bring most if not all of his staff with him. At least at Purdue during my lifetime, head coaching experience for more than five years and bringing staff with you have been the only times that Purdue has won in football.

A jump to the Big Ten with greater compensation for him and his staff, more resources, more tradition, and more academic prestige could be appealing to him.

Along with names, how about tell us why they would do well at Purdue and if you think they would want the job.
