If these 3 can step up just a bit, this can be a special season. Not even scoring necessarily. All 3, Newman and TKR especially, just look uncomfortable out there. It seems like Edey doesn't have an issue playing 32+ minutes a game right now, but will that bite us in March?

Newman looks lost to me some games, it seems like Painter is in his head. TKR will be fine, if the 3 he’s the one I have the most confidence in. I know Morton will give his all and compete defensively, just not sure he’ll bring anything offensively, hope I’m wrong. I think Jenkins will win a game for Purdue at some point…I could see him banging a few huge 3’s one game.

TKR is awful right now on the defensive end. Yes, he is getting some freshman treatment from the refs, but besides that he can't stay in front of anybody and is getting scored over too much. That will hopefully change down the road but because of that lack of D his playing time will continue to be short.

Not just his D, but he is struggling on O. It appears he bulked up last year and do think that has made him slower. Before he always had a bit of a game putting the ball on the deck and wonder how he would do with a face up game to add to his jump hook. I realize he is slower, but if he can't for some reason get deep against a particular player...perhaps he can drive that player or stroke it from 8-10 feet? It does look like maybe he backed off shooting the 3 ball a bit and has hit his Fts lately.

He has a nose for the ball, but not a quick jumper or really athletic player at this time. I would love to see him and Brandon get it going...soon...

He seems stiff and unbalanced a lot of the time. Coupled with some very weak attempts to score in the paint and I've come around to think that he's not really very athletic (in terms of Big 10 talent) and really just big. Nice jumper that he needs to feature until he gets some more moves. But as lost as any true freshman I can remember on D.

REDSHIRT freshman. That's the really baffling thing. I'm not even sure it's athleticism, that's part of it, but just seems very awkward and uncomfortable in all his movements. Curious

I think Tkr is just playing out of position at the 5. Hes not a center. The problem right now is Furst is playing better, thus getting minutes at the 4. Maybe it would be better to play Furst those 5 minutes Edey needs a break, and let Tkr play while Edey is in.

TRK might be over thinking too much. It is mental more than physical. I think he is athletically quick enough, but is reacting too slowly because he is still mentally processing what to do whereas the players ahead of him are reacting based on familiarity. Yes, he red shirted, but was injured much of that time. According to some, his practice play is much better than what we see in games.

I do hold onto hope that he will round into the dominant player he was is high school.

Jenkins did not hit the game winner against OSU but he was a big reason we won. He hit a 3 when we could not make a shot and then went 3-3 from the 3 point line for the game.

To me, I sense that he prays his first shot goes in, and forces it many times to make it happen right away. If the first shot goes down, the confidence is apparent. Now, that said, lately he has had some wide open 3s that haven't gone. I'm hoping that confidence comes back, because we have all seen his best games, and that is an ace in the hole for this team when they're there. I have a solution. It's a dangling pocket watch. You're getting sleepy, sleepy....

He needs confidence. He will be a very good player
He got 4 minutes on Monday.

I don't think there will be a lot of minutes available for TKR going forward unless Edey gets in foul trouble. He seems to be the odd man out in the 4/5 rotation. He hasn't played over 8 minute in the last 4 games. Seems to be developing to a situation similar to Newman last year. Less playing time, more pressure to perform, poorer production. One basket in the last 5 games.

Yep, of any player he seems like the one that presses the most. Painter gets on him a lot, when Brandon lets the game come to him he’s fine, when he rushes things it tends to spiral downhill. I watched him a ton in high school, he was at his best when he drove to the hoop or pulled up hitting 15 foot jumpers. Kids a great athlete, hopefully, we see good Brandon the last third of the season.
