I know we play Lehigh next & I don't want the team to look ahead, but as fans, that's what's fun. I think if we win the Pitt game, we run the non conference schedule unbeaten. I've always thought Pitt plays a lot like Purdue, blue collar, defense first. If this game were at Purdue, I'd put it in the W column & move on. Playing at Pitt is what makes this difficult. It will be a great test for Purdue & give them a B1G type environment which will be great preparation for the start of the B1G season. I still think we win, but this will be a close game as Pitt knows it gives them a chance to put a big win on their resume.

I wasn't worried before the season, but after seeing Pitt leading Gonzaga at the half in Okinawa before that game was cancelled makes me wonder how good they are.

This was the only other game I thought would give us fits.

If we play our game and our shooters can hit, we should be fine. Might be closer than expected however.

Looking at the roster and boxscore from their closest game against Detroit. Their biggest player is 6'11" 300 lbs. he is a senior and they have a couple of 6'9" guys who are seniors. None of the 3 are the leading scorers and they rely on a couple of 6'9" guys and a guard for the bulk of their scoring.
Once again this is from one game only and I may be off.

Similar to Florida they have balanced scoring 9 deep and are athletic.

They don't have our size however and one has to wonder how an athletic 6'9" guy will do against H&H. Our depth also seems to be stronger as we go 9 deep with higher averages.

It's too bad the one game against a good team was cancelled as it would give us a better idea of what to expect.
But they did give up a big lead in the Detroit game that allowed Detroit to take the lead at one point. They went to zone to get the lead back, but we have faced zones before and if our guys shoot well, we should be fine.

I think we may see a similar game to Florida, where its close until the final 10 minutes when our bigs task a toll on them and wear them down.

Should be a good test and I look forward to seeing Purdue gain more momentum as it should take the last remaining veil off of what many of us see as an under rated team.

I will be driving there from Indy on Tuesday to watch the game with my daughter who is a Freshman at Pitt. BTFU!

Being at Pitt, this game is gonna be an absolute dogfight going down to the last minute. They got the home crowd working the refs every call. I know we are looking good, but make no mistake, playing on the road against a hostile crowd is tall, tall order, our first true road game of the year. Yes, we have looked great, and we could pull away like what happened with Florida, but they might do the same thing to us. This will be a real test!
