Is this the worst political hit-job ever?

Twitter is all a buzz right now that Avenatti got punked on this story. He's locked down his twitter account.

Punked as in what way? He made it seem like he was hired by someone and alleged Kavanaugh assaulted someone.

If he made that up he should lose his bar.

If people made it up to set him up for some reason that is just as bad.

All bs around.

Apparently the person who reached out to him and said they were a victim of Kavanaugh's was punking him...and he fell for it hook line and sinker. LOL!

So he should do his due diligence. That said right up there with the death threats the Ford’s and Kavanaugh’s received, this is really demented.

He was so eager to bring down a Trump nominee that he jumped head first into this. The details are on twitter if you want to read them. Quite funny.

Not a fan of Tucker Carlson ever since I found out he and Dennis Hof of Moonlite BunnyRanch fame are best friends and they talk to one another daily. So hearing Tucker moralizing about anything is a complete turn-off.

Where did you hear/read that? I did a quick search and Tucker downplayed their friendship. The article I read made it sound like Hof was the one "bragging" about how close they were.

Not sure why anyone takes that idiot seriously after he and Begala were totally undressed by Jon Stewart.

Could be but this is from Hof's Wikipedia page: "Hof is close friends with Fox News personality Tucker Carlson. He states that he communicates with Carlson daily to give him ideas for his show." I've seen allusion to it elsewhere but it could just be Hof bragging about his connections. Hof is running for the Nevada legislature this his Fall as a Republican.

This one looks bad for BC. The first two were shaky on specifics and only seemed to encompass a single incident. This person is more specific and seemed to witness this over a longer time period. She's also risking her career and security clearance by swearing an affidavit with potential perjury charges. Thought it was interesting her reference to "Beech Week", when Brett's calendars have a reference to "Beech Week" in June of 82.

If only her parents had raised her better.

Wash-Rinse-Repeat. The first two didn't stick so let's get more gross and detailed. Maybe this will stick.
I don't know how the East Coast boys behaved in the 80's but the mid-west boys of the 70's would have beaten the $..T out of
anyone doing what Kavanaugh is being accused of here.

Yep, everybody is lying except him. A football jock who drank heavily was a virgin through high school and college. Right.

I was a Midwest high school boy in the seventies. I saw plenty of of this kind of stuff. Never saw anybody get beat up over it, unless it happened to their girlfriend.

Got back a bit ago from visiting my daughter at Purdue. Campus looks awesome for any of you who haven't been back lately.

I digress...

Lady was 20 and 21 years old going to high school parties where she knew gang rapes were taking place? Is that what I missed today?

And she was so disgusted by the drug filled high school rapefests that she just couldn't get enough of them? Going back again and again (10 in total) over the course of two years? Where she and others witnessed several girls being drugged or physically overwhelmed and raped? And she kept going back?
And as an adult she did not report this? She didn't tell anyone about this? No one who attended these parties said anything to anyone?

Not one parent got wind of any of these gang rapes? Not one?

No one notified the police? No one?

No school official found out? Not one?

No one's brother, sister, uncle, dad, mother, cousin found out?

You all have degrees from Purdue, right? This means you're actually fairly intelligent (except 35 - we're not sure what his story is) and you actually believe this story is plausible? Are you guys so eager to keep a conservative judge from getting on the high court that you are willfully suspending all common sense?

This adult went to parties where minors were present with knowledge that violent sex crimes were being committed...and she never contacted the authorities? That would make her, at a minimum, complicit. Or she's lying about the whole thing.

And there are probably 500,000 attorneys she could've contacted about these crimes...and she calls the creepy porn lawyer?

Aaand the instinct is once again to assume the woman is lying.

You seriously believe this crap? This is one time where you and I need to sit down and have a beer. Cause I seriously want to see your face when you say you believe this story. There is no way you would be able to keep a straight face. No way.

All the victims are lying, every one. Kavanaugh has been caught lying several times now, but it's the victims who aren't to be believed. BTW, everything Avenatti has alleged in the past has eventually been proven to be true.

I did not see the beach week statement, that said, the entire prep school/high school on east coast partakes in it. Same way up through MD, NJ, NY.

I knew plenty of guys that were high school jocks and drank-some were with a lot of girls, some never had sex.

Does she ever accuse BK of sexual assault? Are there witnesses or no? And did she file charges in Montgomery County? I could not determine if she had or not from links. Those are the main questions. Being at a party/bar where this occurs does not make one guilty.

Like you say BuilderBob, you saw plenty of this stuff happen, should you be disqualified from owning a business? I would not dispute that this happened at senior/beach weeks/sprig breaks. Anybody that has ever been to a fraternity or sorority party, or even a bar, has seen this happen. At least at the level of using alcohol, not so much the other drugs part. Does not mean one participated in it.

Kind of strange that this woman and other women at parties had seen this activity over a few year period, never report it, get sexually assaulted by a group of people, and keep going to parties.

One of the things that has been made clear by the #MeToo movement is the sense of not being alone. Women are taught from a very young age that what happens is their fault - dress, manner, behavior, attitude - it's all the fault of the girl/woman. It does not surprise me in the least that these women didn't say anything to anyone. I still hear it - "Well, why did she go to his room?" Well, why did she wear such a tight dress?" "She was asking for it with that low neckline?" Women wise up and share their experiences with men/boys who are to be avoided but it does not happen till college or later. High school girls are frustratingly naive about men!!!! Men on this board - did you ever, ever hear that kind of thing as a justification for behavior that was out of line?

For someone that's terrible at equivalence, this is pretty bad. Bob isn't going for a lifetime appointment as a Supreme Court Justice. It's not alleged that Kavanaugh saw this happen, the victims say he was a participant, there's a pattern of his behavior from witnesses, and he's lied multiple times throughout the process (which should be disqualifying by itself if the GOP was pretending to maintain any dignity).

werent there only a handful of students who actually reported nassar/msu after an incident? but many stayed there, even continuing to get 'treatment'. only after it became more known publicly, then nationally, did many others start to speak out and confirm the same.

there seems to be a bit of commonality in past abuse/scandal stories like that. always making one think - how could that happen, how could it go on for so long.

Exactly, blaming the victims for not coming forward sooner is a disgusting strategy. Most people don't talk about their abuse.
The timing of Kavanaugh's victims coming forward does make sense, he's being considered to become one of the most powerful people in the government, it would make sense that they'd come forward at this point. This isn't a trial, it's a job interview for a promotion, just because someone is considered for a promotion doesn't mean they automatically have to get it.

Nobody in my high school did any of that. Jock or not.
Anything sexual related, even kissing was done in private and not in front of a group of kids.
I don't agree with the virgin thing either but there is a big difference from getting laid by your girl friend and raping girls.

Don't people also say the same thing about domestic abuse? Well, why didn't she just leave him? It shows a lack of understanding of the psychology of the situation and of what is happening with the victim. Sadly, victims blame themselves.

Did any of you happen to see the courtroom video when a father of two gymnasts that were sexually assaulted by Nassar attacked him? The father had to be pulled off by 2 or 3 courtroom police. I really felt for that father.

You're comparing a student alone with a team doctor with high school gang rape parties? There would've been witnesses, victims, and perps all over the place at these parties...and not a single one of them said anything to anyone? Again, you guys believe that a 21 year old woman would continue to go to high school parties? Where she knew girls were being raped? That's what you're saying here.

Christ dude, Biker was responding to the disingenuous "why did she wait so long to say anything?" question always asked by certain folks. This isn't hard.

Your constant barrage of irrelevant and misleading questions is getting incredibly old.

As for equivalence, one is either guilty or not-There are punishments dealt out for felonies. I have co-signed four loans for military veteran felons that could not get business permits/loans due to history. Granted, their history did not deal with this topic. I do not give a crap if one is a trash man or CEO. The law is supposed to be the law.

Anyway

What did he lie about? I have not heard anything about that.

As for witnesses

I was not aware that any witnesses corroborated the claims made against Kavanaugh. As far as Ford goes, she cannot remember time, date, place, and story changed.. Either can the witnesses. Ramirez herself said she could not remember if it was Kavanaugh, and called people who might have witnessed event and asked if it was Kavanaugh. That is weak IMO. At Yale, some classmates say that behavior was like him, others say no. Was not aware Swetnick had witnesses, and was not aware she alleged Kavanaugh participated except he was present. From reading Swetnick's accounts of parties, roughly a dozen, she seemed like she knew this was a regular occurrence(which is not good), and went anyway.

No, we may be talking about different allegations. I saw guys feeding Everclear punch to girls, telling them there was just a little vodka in it........and then pulling them into a bedroom a couple hours later. I know of a situation where no less than 5 football players were with a drunk girl, one at a time. Of course they said she wanted it to happen.

Girls on ludes or other things getting taken advantage of. Yep.

This is getting a little creepy so I'll stop. Your high school is not all high schools.

Even kissing was done in private? ok.

I really do not see anyone blaming any victim. I see a lot of legit questions that would be asked if here was a formal investigation. Same way with Clinton and his accusers.

I think the lawyers are hedging Trump will not demand the FBI do the investigation, which at this point the FBI would have to be asked/ordered to do. I wish he would. And the lawyers for their own reasons are not having their clients press charges in Montgomery Country, in which case the local authorities would investigate. I wish they would. As soon as a formal investigation begins, that is when people would possibly get in trouble for lying and I think we would find out pretty quick about witnesses. That sworn affidavit is not worth anything without an investigation, and everyone knows or should know it. It just becomes her word versus someone else.

Owning a business? Wtf?

You and @hunkgolden need to read what @Bethboilerfan is saying and pay attention. When you come with ANY variation of "Why didn't she report it" or "Why didn't any adults find out" it shows you really don't understand how a woman is affected by these situations.

Seriously? THIS thread is full of stupid talking points attacking these women. Where do you think those talking points came from? People are outright calling them liars. If you think questions like "why didn't you call 911?" are "legit," then we're going to find zero common ground on this.
