Evan Boudreaux Commits!

Four guard lineups? I sure hope those days are over as most of our guards are not the lengthy athletic variety. Eastern adds rebounding and the ability to guard 1-4, but the other guards are pretty much limited to 1, 2, or stretch 3.
I could really see Painter adding another PG with the last scholly. Carsen and Eastern are really the only 2 who fit the bill, and if you want to play them together you need more depth there. I can't see Hunter being thrown into that role.
This guy seems to have disappeared, but ...
--- third in the NCAA in steals (3.24/game) (2016-17)
--- Named to the 2017 Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team
--- Joseph Chartouny Named to 2018 Atlantic 10 All-Defensive Team
--- He also leads the NCAA with 93 steals (3.32/game) (2017-18)

Wheeler needs to be our 3 ... Beaudraux is not a 5 ... other than a wide-spread offense
"IF" Wheeler can handle the ball a bit and be very comfortable driving the ball when needed, this team will surprise a lot of people I think. I thought they would be good next year, but this give great minutes to Purdue in skill and maturity. I wonder what will be "success" next year?

Ha - that was click bait .... success has been defined a million times by every poster on here .... take your pick.

When I say four-guard lineup, I'm referring to most of the lineups we had this year with Vince at the 4. Offensively, Nojel can replicate much of the inside punch Vince would have given us. I'm not saying this will be our main lineup--merely that it could be a look. If you put Hunter, Sasha, Nojel, and Carsen out there with Haarms, that's certainly a respectable alignment. But like I said originally, not a frequent one.

Great, another unathletic white guy... (TIC)

Although he kind of does look like an old man lol
The ole man used to go kick teh $hit out of the kids until he got too old! ;) he is a plus and really like the two years. I prefer the two years over the 1,3 and four..like this news. Now if he can play the old mans game like Cardinal... ;)

I would like to see Boudreaux do the hair moves like Haarms with his hand to put the opposing team into a quandary wodnering WTF and to get a second advantage in his move as they stare into space wondering what they just saw. Sorta like Knight confused Jordan by having Dakich guard him which totally embarassed and discombobulated Jordan. Anything to attacke their mental readiness! ;)

Or like having Mount guard Charlie Scott in 1969.

We have 70s style hair with Boudreaux and 80s Morrissey style with Haarms.
We need Nojel to grow a huge fro so he looks like he is a 6'10 Guard...grow that hair and be imposing like Artis Gilmore

Huge get! Will help address issues of scoring and rebounding next year.

Looking at GBI video on front page he looks to be a Luke Maye type of 4 man (not saying he will be that good, just comparison that came to mind.)

Looks like he is great at pick and pop/roll, which will be a nice wrinkle to throw in with defenses trying to defend Carsen.

Hair lets us have our 6th man on the court at all times !!!!!
My neighbor was on that Jacksonville team and his dad used to tell story about the cars, money and such that was floated around down there. Who'd a figured money was involved? ;)

Yikes! With that lineup we would never grab a rebound. Not sure in what circumstances we would have to get so creative as to have Wheeler, Boudreaux, Taylor, and Eifert on the bench at the same time. I think for Hunter it’s going to come down to either he is so good he’s going to take a starter’s minutes or he’s going to be looking at a similar dilemma at his position that Wheeler and Sasha had this year.

Those type stories were going around about a lot of teams back then.

I can't see Hunter not getting minutes. That said, I think Purdue is a tough out in the conference...IF they are mature in away games. If Tre comes in with less body fat and really works out this year...Purdue will be fun to watch and so many "different" pieces...and interesting pieces outside the lines. Hunter is serious about academics...Evan 3 year grad at eastern Ivy (Purdue is the western Ivy ;), Tre wanting to model his game and weight after Biggie adn Dow previously going two weeks wuith little to eat. I see some bright, motivated guys that are more athletic and should grasp teh mental aspect easier than some

This dude must also be smart if he has graduated early from an IVY League school, so that is another plus.

One of the best traits about this year's team was their willingness to share the ball and look for the open man. I sure hope they continue doing that next season with the new starters.

...and the talk was Gilmore and others believed his fro making him so tall was imposing. I sent an email talking about horse money in Florida for Norm Sloan to make Florida a winner...before their 1987 team. Just a FYI... ;)

would love to see someone near Dakota;s skill in passing the ball. I personally think passing is the most missed skill from fans and yet good teams do it well...not as much since the clock takes away some teamwork, but still an undervalued skill in my opinion. Something just as simple as ball placement and timing can make a huge difference in whether the ball goes in with everything else equal

I love this quote from Boudreaux:

Going through the process again for the third time now, I made it pretty clear to everyone I was looking for an opportunity (to play)," Boudreaux said. "I don’t want anybody promising me a starting job or minutes, just an opportunity to come in and be a big part of the team.

AGREED! Lazy passes are inexcusable ... but feeding the post is damned hard. Dakota had it figgered, I predict perfection in this area ... 'cuz at this time, I can.

"They’ve been great to me," Boudreaux said. "I really think they have a great vision for the program and obviously the track record speaks for itself as far as getting to the (NCAA) Tournament and winning Big Ten games. I think they can do special things moving forward."

You are the Oracle!
just old...and knew people in the horse business. Nephew was flooded with stuff from Kentucky in junior high due to contacts more than ability ...just flattering him. Tax breaks made the horse business lucrative. The Brent I referenced is here http://journeymanstallions.com/about-us/ you will recognize one of the farms (I mentioned the name) he had a management position. His older brother John was partners with that person (farm name).

Anyway, John was the contact that opened the door to Brent and alerted us to the money...

As the father of a 12 day old little girl, I can't like this post enough.
She will turn your world upside down and have you doing things you never thought you would...and of course you can have her doing some things. My personality or lack of one depending on perspective was always in sink with my daughter. Congrats and may she rock your world!

Smoothest big white guy I've seen in awhile. Was impressed with both his inside/outside game highlights along with some touch underneath work.
Some Painter bashers will eat crow if Boudreaux delivers like he did on those highlight videos. One heck of a work horse. Good Job Painter & Staff.
