Evan Boudreaux Commits!

Well...

Louisville/Xavier
Wisconsin
Illinois
Butler
NC State

All those were after him.

Yeah . . . I'll take him.

It's not a guarantee, but, clearly, the "experts" see something.

I mean, people OTHER than the experts on this forum. . .

He didn’t get a scholarship offer from any of those schools.

As for rumors, many people here speculated Swanigan would leave Purdue and turn pro last year. Did they have inside info? No. They just used different pieces of info and came to a logical conclusion. That is what college graduates do. We use pieces of information to reach conclusions.

The question is how reliable are the posters on the board. I used the word rumor not fact. And where do you find rumors? From people who post on Internet forums. In the case of Taylor, more than one person have reached the same conclusion. These same people claim to have a lot of cred! So are they just posting rumors? If so, does that mean their other posts are just as meaningless? Does that mean those people who claim to know everything, actually know nothing?

In the past, based on similar posts, I speculated to the dismay of many here that Stephens would be leaving Purdue. That speculation on my part resulted in a lot of disbelief and hatred. I had no inside information. I just put together pieces of information from other posters and formed a conclusion.

With regard to Taylor, I didn't originate the rumors. But there are many small pieces of information including his reoccurring injury and lack of playing time and then his actual performance that lend credence to speculation. The addition of Boudreaux is an additional piece of info.

As I indicated, there is more than one person on this board with the belief Taylor will not be returning.
Good grief. Seriously?

And still more?

And still more?
You asked, so I provided you an honest reply! If you don't like my reply, you should not ask in the first place! If you ask me a question, should I just ignore your question? And no my answer to a question posed to me will never be a two word reply. I thought you knew and realized that. You alone opened Pandora's box. I'm sorry you didn't like what you found. Next time you will learn not to ask.

As for my speculation on Stephens, it's on the archives. My posts were not deleted.

"Mack targeted Boudreaux for Louisville soon after taking over. Among other immediate offers that came in, per Boudreaux: Illinois, Wisconsin, Butler and N.C. State."

Maybe you should target Boudreaux in your next series of posts.

Yeah. That'll go over well.

Let's see that.

You didn't answer the question and it was not even meant to be a challenge. The question was simple. Your answer was obfuscation.

Taylor's lack of playing time has been 100% injury related. Changing schools will not fix that, and Taylor knows that. Boudreaux doesn't play center, so Taylor is not affected. I realize that the "rumor" came from you, but I just don't see the logic you use to predict his transfer. Now, it could happen, but I don't see it in the cards.

I would say we should look hard at any players whose playing time has decreased over the season. If we are going to spread unfounded rumors, maybe we need a better target? Haarms and Eastern have seen their time increase over the season, and it is well known we will build next years team around them, and Carsen. Don't see a transfer there.

i hope boudreaux is much better than peck . peck did pretty good also in ivy league but on a bad team he went for almost 5 ppg and 4 rpg. will those numbers help us next year? will just have to wait and see as there are just too many question marks to predict how the boilers will finish
Peck averaged 10&5 as a rsJR though big difference from 17&10 as a Soph

Also even Duncan Robinson only averaged 17 and 7 at his D3 school

The people that know Biggie would have guessed he was a one and done. Believe me, that was his true intentions..

The rumor didn't start from me and it didn't start today either. there have been rumors / speculation about Taylor going back to last year. There are several in this thread before my post. Are there any facts behind the other posts? There are as many facts that led to the speculation of Swangan leaving and Tyger choosing UCLA. You can ignore them or use them to form your own conclusions.

My posts are based in response to others' posts. I very rarely originate anything. I was not the person who first commented on his boot. But I did speculate there was a reason he was wearing one other than just to be safe. And the facts finally were revealed .

Let's say my speculation is wrong and Taylor will return next year. Do you see him actually playing significant minutes? Or are we just wasting our time speculating about a guy who will only be playing 5-10 minutes at most?

I'm not always right. And I have admitted my errors. I don't start rumors, but I do comment on them.

I admit I do not know, but Taylor himself said he wasn't leaving in what I thought was an awkward question asked by gbi before his last game

Then maybe instead of perpetuating rumors you heard from a cousin's car mechanic's hair dresser, you should not re-post them to begin with.

You'll come across much better if you did because right now, you're just back peddling and you aren't doing yourself any favors.

So back on track here:

Two things that jumped out to me that will be an improvement over Vince...

1: Shot fake and decision making with the ball in his hands is much quicker. Vince was so incredibly slow with that drag-pump game-head fake thing he did that almost never got his man to move one way or another..which led to the ball sticking in Vince’s hands more and more as he tried to get space from his defender. Rarely did we see a catch-shot fake-dribble drive from Vince but Evan appears to be better than Vince at that.

2: Evan looks to have a better mid-range game than Vince did...especially from the extended post feed.

I’m no way saying Evan is better than Vince but some of the things that drove me crazy about Vince are things Evan does well. If Evan can give Purdue 10-6 which is a very conservative estimate IMO, it goes a long way to getting solidly back in the tourney. I think Evan’s addition likely pushes my expected win total for the team next year from 19 to 21 and solidly in the field as 9-10 seed.

This thread will live in infamy.

I predict it's eventual demise approximately March 25th, 2019 ... when a select few of the prognostications within will be born out and found to be true.

Until then ... carry on.

If EB goes for 10/6 next year, I’ll make a $500 donation to the charity of your choice. If he goes for less, will you do the same?

I think he easily surpasses that. I think his rebounding will be similar 8rpg, but points drop off a bit from a stonger conference. 13/8 in 30 mpg. Who knows how much better he has gotten in an off season. He has a strange looking shot though.

I'm not back peddling. Rather I'm pointing fingers. I didn't hear these rumors in some barbershop or auto body shop. I read them HERE on this site from both posters and featured writers! Even GBI posed the same question directly to Taylor. if you want to blame somebody, use a mirror. the rumor started HERE, but not by me. Ask yourself why did GBI pose the question if there wasn't any basis to it?

I also speculated about Tyger, Haas, PJ, Stephens, Swanigan and many other prospects and players. I don't post with the intention of trying to win friends or create some basketball cred. I post with the intention of using the data presented to make you look at an issue from a different perspective/viewpoint.

Agreed. From a triple threat position, he's much more like a bigger Dakota than Vince.

Asking an often-injured 5th year graduating senior whether he plans to return has nothing to do with starting a rumor. That sentence explains the basis for their question. If you are claiming they asked because of a rampant rumor, you are just being desperate in your back-peddling.

I'm not back peddling. I can easily find 20-50 posts by other posters on this board who have shared my same thoughts. Unfortunately they don't want to step up, and I'm not going to waste my time. Three of those posts were in this thread before I posted.

I will admit I was the first person who speculated that Taylor had reinjured his foot at the beginning of the year. Although I was not the first person who posted he was wearing a boot. and after posting my speculation, there were many who argued and disagreed with my speculation, until the doctor's report came out that he suffered a stress fracture and would be out for 4-6 weeks . Did I receive any credit for that speculation being right ? NO !!!!!!!

All I asked was for you to provide a link to the rumor you posted. That's it. You just wrote that you could easily find 20-50 posts by other posters on this board. Instead of answering the easy question, you deflect by rambling about Stephens and Swanigan and Tyger and who knows who else.

Nothing to do with Wolegib, it could just as easily have been about me, but that is hilarious.

So back to OP, did anyone notice his shot? Looks kinda awkward. Seems effective though, maybe not the quickest release. I'm not basketball expert however.
