Cam Williams

Not seeing a 4 star QB from Louisiana on either Rivals or 247. Betting Williams ends up at IU, they're the last man standing that has room and isn't scared off with qualifying.
Announced today the Mystery recruit is Jack Tuttle a 4 star transfer from Utah. He was part of the Elite 11 club coming out of high school. Word is he will be eligible immediately.

Couldn't make the field at Utah, great pickup...

I have no idea why he left Utah as quickly as he did, but his tape is very impressive. The kid has serious physical talent. Whether he becomes a good college QB is an open question.

we had a few of those going the other way... both that wouldve excelled under Brohm. If I was that Penix kid at IU, I wouldn't be too happy right now.

With Tuttle added to the mix, IU only has 3 scholarship QBs. I suspect Penix is confident enough in himself that he believes he can win the job.

And a certain WR recruit.
David Bell isn’t going to IU. He wants to play under Brohm and Coach Shepherd and he wants to play with 1st Team All-American Rondale Moore. You know, the guy who lit up IU, had 103 receptions as a FR, and over 2,000 all-purpose yards.

Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.
That explains why IU’s program is where FB coaching careers go to die. They must not have good coaches. And when they do get a decent one, they end up firing him. (Mallory, maybe Wilson.

the two biggest hurdles for Cam to come to Purdue is our lack of available scholarships and him qualifying academically.

it appears due to academic casualties, we may have a scholarship open. Although losing a 5th year senior doesn't open anything.

it also appears Cam has either qualified academically, or at least he is no longer worried about doing so.

I believe Cam prefers Purdue, but Brohm has to find space for him. I'm going to be bold once more and speculate one of our lower ranked current recruits all of a sudden has a change of heart and decides to decommit to attend a lesser school miraculously opening up a spot for Cam. or maybe one of our juniors decides to graduate in 3 years
Are the academic concerns the reason he doesn't have a very impressive offer list for a 4-star recruit? Or is something else going on behind the scenes?

That's the word on the streets. I would think his lack of productivity his senior year has something to do with it as well.

Same still-unidentified source that told you OSU cut James?

3rd string qb at Utah? Congrats, I guess.

Yes, and he just decided to go to IU after committing to OSU? OSU didn’t like his injury and lack of productivity his SR year. They recruited over him. His offer is no longer committable so yes, they did in essence cut him. How effing delusional are you Loosier fans?

A 4-star QB, going from SoCal to IU after one season at Utah. Utah. Then IU. And, that doesn't raise eyebrows?

A 4-star LB, with questions surrounding him, apparently going to IU.

A 4-star RB, initially committing to OSU, now backing off and going to IU, with questions surrounding the "why."

For all the IU fans invading this forum, desperately seeking validation, I offer my congratulations on landing some talent. I "get" the giddiness of getting talented players in the IU program. I'll also say: Be careful what you wish for. Your staff is taking some chances on some question marks. I guess that's what IU has to do to get talent. When you chase the talent, the talent dictates the culture.

A "leader" faces a choice, when building the culture. "We can look like them, or they can look like us." We'll see what this does to the "culture" of IU football. Will they "buy-in" to whatever culture Tom Allen is trying to instill, or will Tom Allen's culture adapt to them. Only time will tell.

30-7 ain’t bad? Let me know when ‘Lil Archie wins 30 games and league and BTT titles. Let me know when he actually gets IU out of the first weekend.
And how far have you guys gone lately. Not far, still no banners for anything past Big Ten titles. You guys have won more then us, Big Ten titles that is. But nothing else. And now your coach is publicly throwing his team under the bus. Oh boy!

Dude, you're not responsible for any of that.

Don't try to hang your worth on the accomplishments of others, generations ago.

What an idiotic statement, that our "coach is publicly throwing his team under the bus." He's all class. Your admin hired Kelvin Sanctions. And more. Don't be obtuse.

Get your validation elsewhere.

About like your b-ball team this year

This guy seems a bit confused to say the least. Comes to the Purdue football board to talk IU bball and goes by the name iubaseball. Typical IU loser. Time to run along. Enjoy watching our bowl game and good luck with your new LB, hope he qualifies and sees the field.

It's IU football...WTH! They suck and talked and prayed for Brohm to leave. Sounds scared sh*tless to me. Brohm and Purdue will dominate those scrubs for years to come. Bank on that!

Just so everyone knows the reason Tuttle left Utah was because Utah hires a new OC after he arrived and that OC’s system was built on dual threat QB’s which Tuttle is not. Also he was born in Indianapolis and his father was a kicker at IU so that’s his connection to the University plus he knew he would have a chance to start.

Seems a pretty big reach to suggest IU and Tom Allen are taking "chances on some question marks" because it flipped an in state RB committed to OSU, is close to landing an in state LB who allegedly could have trouble qualifying, and landed a QB transfer with family ties to the program.

There's a long list of kids who had great careers who flipped from their original commitments, or transferred from their original school, or who had difficulty qualifying. The idea that Allen is jeopardizing his culture by taking these 3 is just silly.

Lol so they didn't like his productivity, they recruited over him, they in essence cut him... post ONE credible source that supports ANY of those claims or stfu.

Actual facts: Sampson James decommits from OSU on October 7th. Every Buckeyes insider says it was a surprise and OSU was disappointed by it (please find me one that doesn't). Four days later they offer Marcus Crowley, a 3*, who later commits on his official visit in November. I know I need to write simply for you, so to reiterate: they did not even offer their current RB commit until after James decommits. Does that add up to you?

Does anybody on this board take you seriously?

not a reach at all. In fact, it's quite logical.

Only because the kid is in my local area, Crowley is also a 4*. Straight out of Trinity.

Actually, many take him seriously.

Who we don't take seriously are IU fans desperately in need of validation.

As for Cam, he seemed like a potential great addition. Brohm must have seen something he didn't like if he was the one to cancel the official visit. He obviously had the scholarship to offer.

As for all the posts about whether Cam would qualify academically or would become an academic casualty , I doubt Brohm was as concerned as some on this board are. If he didn't qualify, I'm confident Brohm would be able to find a juco or grad transfer to take the scholarship. And if he became an academic casualty after his first semester, Brohm is always looking for extra scholarships to give out. He usually needs 1-3 academic casualties to be able to give out his 25 annual scholarships.

You make that sound simple. It' s not. That's an awful lot of work he possibly avoided.
