Cam Williams

Whoever the IU fans are that think they will get Bell are totally delusional. It's been obvious for a long time he is going to be at Purdure. Think he is just being courteous to The Indiana University football team and coaches

I'm guessing Weaver and Rabby think it's a done deal to Purdue too?

Do you have any guys that could flip before signing day?
Not sure about anybody flipping but we have been told there will be a surprise QB signing Wednesday that will make IU fans very very happy. Lots of speculation it could be a 4* QB out of Louisiana but that is pure speculation. Weaver has been sworn to secrecy as to not let the cat out of the bag before Wednesday. Also could be a OC change but not 100% sure on that. Bell was apparently made aware of this on his visit which may have moved the needle a bit. Is it enough, who know but we shall see. I am still thinking Bell goes to Purdue and almost 100% confident Cam Williams signs with IU.

Not seeing a 4 star QB from Louisiana on either Rivals or 247. Betting Williams ends up at IU, they're the last man standing that has room and isn't scared off with qualifying.

Not looking hard enough apparently.
There is one down here. Some buddies of mine were telling me about him. He has been hurt or something. Not sure what the story was, but they felt he was going to be a star somewhere. Destrahan high school if I am correct. Also mentioned he wanted to go to PU. But they could have heard Indiana and they were confused not knowing the IU actually has a football program.

Maybe Lance Legendre? His 247 page has IU listed.

This is a serious question: Why would a 4* LB, who presumably has a lot of other options, even if Purdue doesn't have room for him, want to sign with iu? The entire program, from it's stadium to fan support, is just..... meh.

IU fans on their board are delusional. All this high end talent is supposed to jump on board their drowning team on signing day. Bell and Williams is supposedly theirs. They will end up in top 25 recruiting an Purdue will fall to mid 40's.

They may be the most out of touch fan base I've ever seen. Reading what they posted about the Brohm situation is hilarious.

If it is, IU fans expect Bell to get excited about a quarterback that, per MaxPreps.com, threw for 2 TDs as a Jr and 3 more as a senior before getting injured. ...Ok, then... o_O
IDK. At a 4 star it does not sound like the same player. Was said to be very much under the radar but was an absolute stud of QB. Did not play much this year. This kid has way better offers than IU.

I get the IU hate as a rival and I get the legitimate criticisms of IU's program (lack of historical success, attendance issues, etc.), but it's a little silly to read how hard it is for some of you to fathom that a good football player might want to attend IU. It's class may not be as hyped as Purdue's, but IU is on the verge of signing a really good class that includes high level in state kids that Purdue would love to have.

They're not having to fight that great of schools for their guys. Robbins' best year was his sophomore year and he didn't' get the big offers he was looking for. Tracy's other finalists were Iowa and Purdue who both passed. Mullen's size kept him from being heavily pursued.

Sampson James got recruited over by OSU because his SR year was not close to as good as his JR year. Brohm preferred King Doerue over him. IU’s best players are pretty much all guys who fell into IU’s lap after the better schools backed off of them. This reminds me of the Hope and Hazell days at Purdue.

Only one I see is Beau Allen who is a 2020 recruit. I'm not sure if I am a high caliber WR I want to wait for a QB to show up in 2020 and have that be the reason I go to a school. Purdue has Sindelar, Plummer, and Piferi lined up with experience when he gets to campus. Is IU really using that as a selling point for him? Kid doesn't even hold an IU or Purdue offer at this point in time:

I think we get him. Brohm wouldn’t have him come if he wasn’t serious about taking him. Williams always seemed to like Purdue to begin with - I don’t think that’s changed.
So when he signs with IU on Wednesday will he all of a sudden be another one nobody wanted?

One would think the coaching staff knows/thinks they can sign him as part of this class. Why else would you bring the kid in on an official visit? Talk about a colossal waste of time for all parties involved.

It is odd that he is only taking two official visits.
His other schools likely passed on him with his academic issues and didn't want to potentially waste an official if there was a qualifying question....midwestern schools have an advantage with distance in that sense and both instate schools having more as well.

Williams has already announced he is signing on the 19th.

He is signing at 11:45 am too. I think Brohm said most if not all commits are signing in the early period. My guess is, with the space, if somebody doesn’t sign right away, they will be possibly giving up their spot. Purdue is up against it scholarship wise, so waiting until the late signing period could mean their spot isn’t there anymore. Bell is the only one Brohm is willing to wait for I imagine. Grant might get a pass with his ability, but it is unlikely. You don’t want to get left with nothing and if you wait on a player and they go elsewhere then you likely miss out on the chance to replace them as the guys you would take probably signed early with another team. The early signing period added a unique strategy to it all. But if the players plan on signing with Purdue and are eligible, there is no reason not to sign early. And Brohm wants guys that want to be here, no doubt. I think most coaches probably feel the same way too. It’s just nice to not have to worry about your class and have them all locked in by the early period. As a Purdue fan, I can’t wait until this whole ‘19 class is locked in. Then it becomes a reality. Next step will getting them to produce results. This will be a really fun ride.

Nope we want him, need him and would be disappointed if he doesn't come to IU. Everything we are hearing though that won't be the case.

If it were set, he wouldn’t be taking this visit. Whether he ends up at Purdue or IU I am sure he will be terrific. I thought for a while he would pick IU. Purdue bringing in Wahlberg could be a hint of that as well.

I wouldn’t rule out Purdue. Purdue has some pretty amazing coaches that aren’t going anywhere. With another losing season, would IU move on? Purdue has some of the best facilities in the nation, has a much bigger commitment to football, fan base, better coaches, a better defensive class, had national media attention all year, and has had some incredible success with their linebackers recently. As a pure football decision, it’s a no brainer. If he wants to be a boiler, great! If not? I wish him all the luck at IU. I think both schools will give him an opportunity to play and have success on the field.

I am happy with Triplett, he had a great year and beat out Williams for the linebacker award. I think he will be a very good player. I think if Purdue misses on Williams and lands Wahlberg, that’s fine too. It looks like something is in motion though, because they are bringing in 2 lbs when the scholarship pool is full, assuming Purdue lands Bell (which seems most likely at this point).

If he does sign with Purdue, will IU fans say that they never really wanted him or really need him?

That happens infrequently on the IU sites. It is a normal occurrence over here however. Ya'll are really good at that play. You should consider filing for a copyright.

Not at all. IU definitely wants him. If Purdue gets him, that means that the kid preferred Purdue. Same for Bell, obviously.

Purdue deserves credit for landing the kids that it's landing. I don't know why it's so hard for some on this board to give IU credit for landing the likes of Samson James and Beau Robbins. It doesn't denigrate Purdue's class so why act like they're second rate when that's clearly not the case.

Why is stating facts about players a problem for you. Everything said about James and Tracy is true. Other, better FB schools than IU backed off of these guys.

Of course IU homers will say that Williams is a lock for IU. If he's a lock for IU why is he coming to Purdue this weekend? He's wanted to come to Purdue for over a year. Brohm told him to take care of his academic business and now it appears that Cameron has. Purdue is backing off of Chrishawn Long from OH it seems, who is a LB. That would free up a spot for Williams....and Bell is coming to Purdue. Book it, Danno.

If Bell is a lock for Purdue why was he at Indiana last weekend? same question

Why when SamSam announced he was decommiting from Ohio State were you all over him coming to Purdue yet now that he chose IU you didn’t really want him come on man

I can't fathom why you IU fans are so obsessed with what's written on the Purdue forum, that you have to come here and set us straight.

Two words for you: nobody cares.

I venture over to the IU forum from time to time, for a moment or two, but wouldn't think of explaining to them how wrong they are.

Does it really matter who you get at IU. Brohm beat your butts with Hazel type players. WTH does that tell you. Give me a break! Your whole fan base was praying for him to leave for Louisville.

None of this matters; He’s not going to be a Boiler. In keeping with the season, send him to the stables since there’s no room at the Purdue Inn...
