We have some young guys who’ve spent the last yr-or-2 bulking up that we’re counting on along with GK...It seems that we can always use a good LB but DUDES we need some DL help in a big way......

That one was obvious.
Have to believe if Williams wants to go to PU they will take him. Why else would they give him an OV? Only other scenario is they would only take him if Bell doesn't end up at PU but that still seems like a stretch.
IU is desperate for any kind of buzz, getting a 4 star recruit to at least commit is worth the risk. They’re probably bringing him in to fully check on his situation. I’m guessing they’d only agree to take him if they’re extremely confident he’ll be eligible. Seems like IU is more willing to take a chance on him from an eligibility standpoint.
If he were signing in Feb, then “maybe” we could sign him. Since he wants to sign in the early period, however, it’s a numbers games & he’s the one left standing when the music stops...
I think one of our commits that failed to get an in-home official visit will back outI am not hopeful he ends up here. I think he's wanted an offer for a long time and by the time he had one we had already filled up our available spots. I think the staff has told him that he's gotta wait for Bell. If IU is smart, they tell him he's gotta sign on the 19th or they are moving on. Pressure him.
I think we take Williams immediately though if one of our Dec. 19th signees backs out

Chase is bigger & faster than Williams and has been Dominant whereas Williams has a habit of disappearing on tape. Who cares about stars? As has been pointed out, Dustin Keller was a 2*. Besides, everyone besides Rivals has him a 3. Basically, same range as some skinny Texas qb we had a while back. The more that I read & see about this kid, the more excited I get. I can’t wait for him to be a Boiler...
They are both listed as the same height and weight. I've seen them both play twice and Williams is fast with pads on. Williams is the better player in comparing the two at least in the games I've seen.Chase is bigger & faster than Williams and has been Dominant whereas Williams has a habit of disappearing on tape. Did I see an IU Star article that named Triplett the top LB in the state the other day? Or was it a more filtered award. I can't remember.
Good thing Neal's got two big time recruits heading that way to help him out.It seems that we can always use a good LB but DUDES we need some DL help in a big way......
David Copperfield?Who creates a highlight tape where they disappear?
Really?
IU isn't desperate for any kind of buzz. IU's recruiting is doing rather well this year. Granted, not quite as good as Purdue, but not that far behind.
Next?
I don't see the 85 as being an issue as there will surely be some attrition as there is every year at every school. I think a scholarship player this year is on target to graduate in 3 years this year and the speculation was that he was going to be moving on.
They’re too busy over there doing backflips over the long snapper they just got committed.Got it.
We're all set, now.
They seem confident on BellThey’re too busy over there doing backflips over the long snapper they just got committed.

IU. They think they have a decent shot at him.
I don’t. Williams is by far better and the kind of player we need.I hope we sign Wahlberg instead of Williams
They have no reason to be. Brohm and Shepard visited him Thursday night. He’s coming to Purdue. Book it, Danno. They seem confident on Bell
It seems from review of this thread, that everyone thinks this is coming down an "either or" choice between Cam Williams or dropping Chase Triplett?
No one has even mentioned the other 2* LB commit from Cleveland, Crishawn Long. I am certain that sometime this weekend Williams will have a meeting with Purdue Asst Athletic Director in charge of "Compliance" whoever that is? If Williams can qualify and accepts an offer, Long is the guy more likely to suffer from the "addition by subtraction" arrangement. The Long kid has not received an "In-Home" visit. That should tell you something?
I think we need to keep Triplett. He has a great season and is underrated in my opinion. I’m hoping with the recent departure of Tobias Larry we can get all these guys.
No One is getting their offer pulled this close to Signing Day, especially when they’ve been committed as long as our current LB recruits have been. The Williams ship has sailed. He had his chance but didn’t get it done in the classroom; It’s still iffy even now. We’re full. Move on, Especially on a free board where anyone (aka family) can read how you want us to drop their kid & leave him no one to sign with...
