What you need to realizes is that if Trump is running, half of those never Trumpers will swallow quickly and vote the Repub ticket. That's why most polls that take in outlier factors have DJT up on Biden by 6 to points.

But as far as your other point, Trump UPPED military spending his first term. Kinda, makes your point about him moot.
Biden, was never known to be a genius......bottom levels of his law class, regardless of his claims. But yes for sure, Biden was smart enough to enrich his family with million$ in corrupt overseas money.

Because Obama had gutted the military and a lot of Trumps spending was to get pay back in line.
It doesn't make it moot as Trump is not beholden to the military industrial complex as Nikki is. Nikki and Dems are hawks, Trump has already proved he is a dove.
The only line he was getting back to was the level desired by the military complex accolades. In that he did well.
Btw...The Dem aligned Trump after all spent more than ANY single term President in the History of this country.
How much was Covid related and also we were at an all time revenue intake when he left office as well and we were forcing NATO countries to spend more money for their defense. The problem with Russia and Ukraine and Israel and Hamas would not have blown up. Biden always has had the ability to f everything up and he has. Trump was aligned with both parties before he ran as he contributed to both to cover all the bases.
Democrats have always decreased military spending to increase social program spending to buy votes. It has been a cycle and they are the ones that have gotten us into wars other than Bush2.

A lot of this countries problems could be solved if we limit the time, like we do with unemployment, to ~ 6 months or so, that one can be on social programs with a few exceptions, like disabled, help for mentally impaired.

Covid had some to do with Ts spending at the end. But he was major deficit spending long before COVID hit. Trump doesn't mind being a big spender. That is what you get with a Dem who "turned" into a so called Republican.
