B1G 6th Man of the Year

Vince? I doubt any of our guys would be considered for this award due to our rotating starting lineup.

Haas has come off the bench every game in conference so far this year. He is currently averaging 13.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and almost almost 1 block per game. Not sure you are going to find another 6th man with that type of impact on a game in conference.

Has it been that long since Haas was out of the staring lineup? If so he should be the front runner. I guess in my mind there was more shuffling between he and Vince as the last starter. Either one of them would be a good candidate for the award really. Maybe Michigan or Msu have someone that could be considered as well. Both of those teams seem like they can go to the bench with little to no drop off in production.

There is a real chance Purdue ends up with the POY, DPOY, and 6th man. I think Purdue will probably end up with Biggie on the first team and Carsen, Mathias, PJT, and Vince all vying for 2nd team/honorable mention.

Happ has Dpoy locked up. Dakota had been great but Happ has the best defensive rating in the country. I think Biggie is POY, Haas 6th man, Vince 2nd team, Dakota and Haas 3rd. Also Carsen will be all freshman team

I admire your optimism. CE will make all-freshman, maybe PJT is hon. mention, but I think VE has been so up-and-down, it's hard to guess with him....I actually don't expect him to make any of the teams (maybe hon mention with a big finish). Dakota could get 2nd or 3rd team.

Agree that Happ is probably DPOY, and DM will make all-defensive team.

All-conference first team should be interesting. I think most would put Swanigan, Happ, and Jok as "locks;" then there's a host of players like Trimble, Webster, McIntosh, Mason, Walton, etc. If Blackmon and Lindsey hadn't been out, they'd be there too.

JMHO

Happ is DPOY. I think coaches would place DM on the defensive team but not sure about the media. Not sure they grasp that playing defense is about brains and effort. Not just athleticism.
