All meaningless early rankings BS with not enough data. By mid Dec things get clearer.

We probably find out Purdue ranked a little too high.

For example with Creighton we will find out soon enough with games vs powerhouse NE(🤣), TexA&M, Kansas and then AL. They are pretty good. If they handle that they become #1. Lose to KS, probably still stay top 5.

Agree that it’s pretty meaningless but it gives fans something to talk about.

We’ll find out tonight if Purdue is ranked too high. I think this team is legitimately top 15 at this point and is likely to continue to improve, but if they win on the road tonight they would show that they may be much better than that.

I too think they might be a little too high. I’m still concerned about TOs and soft rebounding. Later in the season we might look back at the Alabama game and say thats the best they’ve played all year.

I don't think they are ranked too high, even if they lose tonight. Losing to a Top 20 Marquette on road isn't some awful loss unless it's a Gonzaga-Baylor result. I think Purdue fans are maybe trying to get used to having their point guard be the best player again after having Edey around. Smith isn't Carsen Edwards(from a scoring standpoint) but he can control a game enough to make Purdue a Top 10 team.

I generally agree. I think the question is whether they are a legitimate top-five-ish team with staying power. If they win tonight, they will look the part.

A wi tonight would be big. I think there is a good amount of parity at the top. I personally think Kansas is above everyone(not that they won't lose). But there will some shifting amongst teams along the year. Purdue might be a legitimate Top 15 team but at some point may drop to 15 and then go back into the Top 10. As weird as it sounds, there are probably 15ish "Top 10" teams this season.

Seems like a pretty good list. I think Purdue's placement is about right, although I expect that they'll be a bit higher in the actual poll. I think Wisky is high, but understand that they're 7-0.
