2023 Recruiting - New

Sorry if this was posted elsewhere already, but Colvin had himself quite a night to open the sectionals. Also, has anyone heard how tall he is now? He sure looks taller than 6'-5" which he is listed at here at Rivals. Might just be everyone else on that floor is quite smaller.

He will add flexibility to a 3 guard offense with his height.

Keep the hits comin, Rosie!

Looks like Parker Freidrichsen committed to Oklahoma State

Kind of disappointing, as I really liked the sound of his scouting report.

I posted his comments in a link awhile ago and from that I guessed we were on the outside… Purdue was so much farther from home than any other school he was considering.

A big is a higher priority anyway. We have lots of guards in the classes surrounding him (loyer, smith, DGL, etc)

I saw on the Twitter machine that MSU and UM have been all over Booker.

I like the kid as much as anyone...like the family for that matter, but, what Rosey left out is that he should be going for a cool 30 in his sleep with who he is playing against.

Frankly, he would be well-served playing somewhere else...it would be best for him, and for Purdue likely.

I already mentioned my thoughts on him...he is big, and, he is athletic...can't teach big, and, he has athleticism to work with, but, I just was not impressed either time. To be fair, not the same in watching a kid in HS all of the time...it can be misleading...both ways for that matter. But, I mentioned that he had horrible hands, and, just no motor...which was disappointing from the standpoint that even if he is not a force at the offensive end, he absolutely should be at the other end.

He plays in the State Championship game on Saturday night, so, he will have a big stage on which to shine potentially.

We need guards with quickness to speed up our game on both sides also good shooters I think we should go after Jermaine cousinard to help with the scoring game

Izzo is 67. Turns 68 in January. He is older than Keady when he retired. How many years does he stick around? Coach K made it to 75 so he could hang around.

New to the board but just wanted to say thank to the OP for this thread. Really awesome. I echo the thoughts on Booker. He is going to UM or MSU - he is retweeting stuff from them and really no one else.

Izzo is making Booker a priority and his Mom tweeted the MSU staff being at a recent game before the finals. Might be another Bingham type of player.

Can Colvin just go ahead and graduate this year? Guy looks like he should be a 5 star.
No kiddin! He’s working his way up in the rankings but he’s still underrated. I believe him and DGL are easily top 40/50 in their class so it’ll be interesting to see where they end up by this time next year.

maybe Wesley is up there too.
Blake Wesley? Good player but I wouldn’t go that far and say he was one of the biggest misses because did he really want to come to Purdue and fight for playing time when he knew he could walk right in at ND and play for his hometown school? Plus I heard rumblings going around that Purdue and even IU backed off of him for some reasons before picking ND.

I don't get all the Wesley love. Shot 30.3% 3PFG%, 47.1% 2PFG%, and 65.7% FT. On top of all the baggage that apparently travels with him, this was a landmine that I'm happy to have missed.
Despite his sometimes poor shot selection he is the type of guard NBA teams want. Not as explosive as Ivey but still an athletic guard who has a frame to put on muscle.

He's a good player. More like Kyle Guy than Jaden Ivey. I wouldn't be surprised to see Painter offer if Imes had waited.
Waited for what? He had offers from Creighton, Penn St., Wake Forest and Virginia Tech...among others.

He could be a guy that we hate seeing for 4 years as Purdue fans.

Solid though...and, makes great decisions generally...similar maybe to Hemingway that went to Clemson?
Zionsville was ranked #1 at one point last year...he was hurt for a long stretch, and, I don't know that he ever got back to 100%....struggled mightily in the Sectionals.

Shrewsberry knows what will work, so, if he thought that he can play and help, I am going to guess that he can/will.
