Barry Odom to Purdue. I understand the concerns about him needing a good OC. Let's hope he could bring his current OC Marion with him. He seems to have a good eyes for this. A good coordinator will eventually want to be the head guy somewhere so this goes both ways. I think this is a pretty good hire.

Apologies if this was posted elsewhere, but does anyone have a clip of Caleb's missed dunk versus Maryland. I was multitasking and sort of half saw it out of the corner of my eye. My first reaction was that even though he missed it, that's a positive development for Caleb. In high school and earlier in his Purdue career, we saw that he could be a more explosive finisher than he's been showing. I'd rather see him try to dunk everything and miss a few than regularly get his shot blocked.

I assume Odom will be introduced to the home crowd at halftime of a hoops game and given the mic to say a few words, and since Cignetti threw it down during his intro to the iu fanbase, I want Odom to wrap it up with "Oh yeh, and one more thing......IU SUCKS!"

I'm OK with the hire. I like that he has HC experience in the SEC, so the lights won't be too bright.
Would love to know who Bobo's first call was to? What call was Odom? Did we reach out to Campbell, Mullen, Kelly?

I believe Odom was in the $2M range at UNLV, I suspect we got him for....$5M? Hopefully he brings his staff and any players who can play in the B10.

I obviously don't know how scheduling works for these types of things, but introducing the new football coach at 9am on a Tuesday morning at Mackey with nothing else surrounding it seems a little, I don't know, weird? Are you going to get several thousand people there? I doubt it. Granted the deal and travel likely couldn't have gotten done in time for the basketball game yesterday, but couldn't it be timed better?

I'm curious if the Boilers offensive problems were less with Graham H., but more with the chemistry between the HC and OC.

Or, if asked differently, would GH be more successful here under Odom?

We always hear how the PU Ath Dept is self funded and doesn't get money from the Univ.
Anyone want to do the research to see what other B10 schools have self funded ADs?
If PU is one of only a few, why are we putting our AD at a competitive disadvantage like that?
A very strong justification can be made for the U to help the AD financially in order to build and grow our programs to be able to compete from a recruiting and facilities standpoint.

If they don't get tax help done by March 1, I doubt they ever do. It's not like the Congress/Senate Rs have a great track record for working together, and getting things done.

I know Trump will help with Executive Orders. But the R Congress/Senate .....we will see??
