Might get invited to the big dance in March but

What re-emergence??

Although they are ok (deep) bench guys, Heide in particular won't fight for rebounding position, relying on jumping ability too much....and both sometimes fail at lane protection and help D. Wildly inconsistent offensively imo.
I believe they are referring to the fact that Myles is 6/15 and Cam is 4/9 from 3 during this 4 game losing streak. This streak is not due to them not doing enough.

In reference to cam rebounding, he gets called for over the back when he fights for position to rebound (according to the refs at MSU) and flat jumps over a guy who doesn’t box him out 😂 .

As far as Myles, he was a top 3 performer Sunday and has been outplaying gicarri the last 4.

I’d say if those two can continue to shoot it at 40% from 3, Myles continues to defend and rebound and cam wakes up a bit and get aggressive on rebounding, it helps take pressure off the big 3 for the tourney.

With that said, the big 3 need to play better. I think they’re exhausted. TKR needs to just set a screen and be set for 5 whole seconds ( 😂 apparently) before Braden can use it. fletch just needs to let it fly if he gets any kind of room. No one and I mean NO one will be mad at one of the best 3 pt shooters in the country shooting an extra 5-7 shots a game. Smith needs to go back to playing his game and trusting his instincts. He seems to be thinking too much. He’s really good when he just goes and plays.

Hope with the extra rest over the next few weeks, we can get back to it.

I am up to here with fans that say stupid stuff like "refs didn't affect the outcome" or "refs aren't why we lost".

Caleb Furst did not get hit.

He hooked Leal to the ground.
As Leal started to get up and run out, Furst then hooked Leal's right foot.
Leal kicked that foot back at Furst deliberately.
Furst did not get hit in the junk; he immediately threw his hands up and started screaming at the refs, got up and started running, and did not ask for one iota of medical attention or show any signs of any pain or injury in any way.

It's about the same reaction that Furst has had many times when they've called a foul on him - maybe to a greater degree this time.

Finally - you will certainly disagree with this post but I can assure you this; those that read this thread (including you) will start to notice that Furst squawks at the refs over perceived injustice in a way that no other Purdue player does.

When Furst shoulder blocked Leal later in the game (no flagrant called btw), Leal got up, rubbed his jaw for a second, and played ball. Zero whining to the refs. Go to the 7:42 mark of this video:

Did you actually look at the video you posted and how that person edited the game? It didn’t even show an actual replay, it cut right before they started showing them and then cut back to after they made an actual call…it didn’t include any of the replays shown

Might get invited to the big dance in March but

Any team playing Heide and Colvin significant minutes isn't doing anything. Great deep bench guys....that is it.

I am hoping DJ and a player we gain in the off season are 2 new starters that change us to a FF type team.
I thought it interesting that Heide and Colvin don’t get to the line. In their last 18 games:

Heide has shot 11 free throws in 319 minutes of play.

Colvin has shot 7 free throws in 272 minutes of play.

Those stats seem ridiculously low for getting to the line. That has to change for these guys to be productive in winning some tough games.

ok so because Leal tried and missed by an inch or two it's ok? This is the dumbest post on the internet. If I take a swing at your teeth and miss and hit your shoulder and nobody gets hurt, are we all good?????? You're a moron.

Faux News' Jesse Watters' Friend Got DOGE'd

You're comparing what happened 50 years ago on the military during a war to what Musk is doing in the civilian government today.
A federal civil servant with 30+ years of service does not get into a huff, resign, and walk away from a pension that will support his/her family for the rest of their lives. You are extremely naïve to believe that there is even one person who is so foolish. Every one of these 21 employees either retired with pension of retired with a lump sum payout. None of them "resigned."

Faux News' Jesse Watters' Friend Got DOGE'd

Oh, I've seen this crap before. It is fake news. During the Vietnam War dozens of senior officers "resigned" to protest the war. A follow-up investigation revealed that none of them resigned (no pension). They had all retired (with pension) to protest the war.
It's amazing how you come up ridiculous comparisons to justify your positions and defend whatever this admin does or says.

You're comparing what happened 50 years ago on the military during a war to what Musk is doing in the civilian government today.

And if all else fails, call it fake news.

WTF happened?

Too many guards who only like to shoot 3’s. And not much else. Don’t worry we have 3 more just like them arriving in the next 2 years.

It doesn’t matter portal or high school. We’ve got enough catch and shoot guards! We need what is called a forward
Wow..I actually agree.

CMP tried… Sisley, Singleton, Walker… hopefully he can get one in the spring…

Play small, lose Big

The whole damn team has been getting killed. Rotations and assignments have not been great. Hopefully with some rest and reassessment, we can be better going into the tourney.
So you agree that on-ball defense, rotating, assignments match-up zone or dirty/flex zone are horrible or not great.

I just can't say someone is good at something when they are just 'ok'. Just because they are comparing them to other bad defensive players on the team that doesn't make them good. I think this team as a group are just horrible at defense right now and it's showing.

I would grind every single player to learn the meaning of defense. If they play lazy, sit their butts on the bench. I mean we are losing games regardless and players are still making the same mistakes. Something isn't registering.

I heard it's because they didn't want to be supervised by a 19 year old who calls himself "Big Balls."

WTF happened?

Couldn’t watch but was score checking. When we went up 8 late in the 1st, I felt good. When we were up 12 at the half, felt great. After that, seems like all hell broke loose. WTF happened!
Have opposing coaches figured out how to defend Purdue? Is our inability for anyone other than Smith to create our downfall? Do we not have enough “dudes”?

Would love to hear from those on here who have been saying that we don’t need to hit the portal, hard, this offseason.
2 main issues:

11 second half turnovers, most led to IU buckets. (IU only had 3 turnovers in the second half)

TKR and Furst got in foul trouble, and our defense suffered as a result.

I am up to here with fans that say stupid stuff like "refs didn't affect the outcome" or "refs aren't why we lost".

Purdue has had guys hit IU players in the ground area?

IU has now had two guys - Xavier Johnson And Leal do this to opposing players on purpose. That would not fly at Purdue.

And they kick out a Purdue fan for any fact checking an IU post

The 1-4 (mainly the 1-3) have been getting killed during our losing streak. You have been watching right? I mean such great defense in the Wisky game to give up 72 from the 1-3 positions.....seriously!!???

No, and yes, this team has been lost on defense. You just can't say one particular person on this team is really great at defense.

I'm not quite sure what you guys are watching besides our tails getting kicked-in lately, but keep stating Myles is a good/great defender.
Myles is one of our better defenders, as is Harris and Cox. Smith is a good “free safety” and fletch can be in good helpside/team defense. What we aren’t good at, as a team, is on ball defense. I’d rank it as CJ, Myles/Harris, Smith and then Loyer. If we aren’t able to be good on ball defenders, we need (maybe multiple) a rim protector behind like we have had in Haarms, (kinda Tre) and Edey—but we don’t. I think Paint was betting on DJ kinda doing that.

You must be watching a different game…maybe you’re watching with TwinDegrees

And if that’s what you have observed, then you would see it with Loyer, Harris and even smith. You have seen that with them, right?

I've watched Myles get dribbled by many times. I just feel like he's not quick enough laterally or he seems to be unbalanced a lot or doesn't take good angled steps. IMO
