Board of Trustees

I fear the same thing. What a nightmare if Purdue sinks back to the Cordova days where football was an afterthought.
It is an afterthought. This group is very business savvy and will continue to operate our athletic department as a self-sufficient business enterprise. With additional revenue coming in I fully expect that money will stay in the athletic department unlike what Cordova did and use it on unrelated campus facilities. We have made significant investments in our athletics since Cordova left and I expect our trustees saw the benefits our basketball program have brought us.

Deportation Plans???

Agree. But if they start with the following, the nation (except wokes) will be grateful:

"The data from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) says that, among those not in detention, there are 425,431 convicted criminals and 222,141 with pending criminal charges.

The figures include 62,231 people convicted of assault, 14,301 convicted of burglary, 56,533 with drug convictions and 13,099 convicted of homicide. An additional 2,521 have kidnapping convictions and 15,811 have sexual assault convictions. " (from Fox News, Sept 27)

I agree, that's where you start. And would add drunk drivers to the roster of first illegals to deport.

Purdue Wide Receivers

I agree. The purpose of my post was to point out to the Kool-aid drinkers that made comments about the OL, our SEC WR corps, and our highly ranked CB's all being vastly improved was a paper dream and had no basis in reality. I made this same comment after the spring scrimmage. It could also be that the players have talent but that the coaches are idiots.........but I am convinced that the BOT plans to keep Walters around for another year.
Why do you think the BOT will keep him another year?
Money?
Save face?
DEI?
Certainly not because they believe he is building a strong program?

I wouldn’t be surprised if iu looks to run up the score, like, hanging 70 if possible.
That’s unacceptable and deserves a firing.

Deportation Plans???

To deport 20M in one year not realistic. That is nearly 55,000/day for 365 days.

Doing it in 4 years not realistic either. That's still 13,700 per day, every day for 4 years.

Be lucky to deport a million/yr.....you see that alone is ~ 2740 per day, every day for 365.

So I wish Tom Homan & folks success. Don't see it happening though. If he can stem the current flow to zero, and shut down the fentanyl, that's success enough. But 20 M that's some work.

Names to consider for our next football coach?

Could not find anything showing Sanders won multiple TX championships or any championship. Some of his HS teams were sub-par. Sanders would not leave CO to coach at Purdue. Would be a step down. If he goes anywhere, will be a perennial top 5 or top 10 team. May only be a small number of teams that fall into that group. FSU, USC if they were to change coaches. FLA may be looking, not sure Sanders would go there.
I don’t think it’s a step down going from B12 to B1G as Purdue will have more financial resources to pay him more long term. But I think the quality of life is better in Colorado and I don’t think prime time will be as motivated by money to leave. I also suspect if he leaves he will go to a more prestigious job like Texas, Ohio State, Michigan, USC, etc.

He founded a prep school that got shut down.

Coach Prime is a winner. Multiple TX state championships. He won at Jackson State, where he was there 3 years not 1 and made it to the SWAC championship game 2 years I believe. Right now there are probably several schools going after him. Purdue should be one of them. He’s not going to coach in the NFL but he does seem very happy where is at though.

DOGE

Great movie. A classic. The guy babbling about his stapler is great and reminds me a bit of Biden.

Alot of mystery how this might work, if at all? Certainly putting 2 genius guys behind this effort is a great step.....but the US Govt bureaucracy is a hard girl to tame. Excited about the effort though.

Given that Vivek could have done multiple positions for Trump, the fact that this one they settled on, shows me he is excited by the challenge

I would love to see Mitch be part of the DOGE effort. He’s got real world experience thinning out a bloated bureaucracy.

Had been at Jackson State one year, his only year of college coaching experience, when FSU hired Norvell four years ago.

Given that Vivek could have done multiple positions for Trump, not to mention Senator to take JDVs position, the fact that this one they settled on, shows me he is excited by the challenge. Combine that with the genius of Musk, it might be successful.

Daniel Jacobsen likely to miss rest of season

Coupled with Berg being more game ready. Thought the years practicing against Edey he would have been much better. Maybe the learning curve will lessen but not encouraged by him.

Give Burgess minutes
I sort of thought someone would just step up at center and be pretty good right away, but I’m not sure that was ever realistic.

I think there’s a real chance that someone could develop there over the next couple of months. Furst has done some nice things and RB and Berg are still incredibly inexperienced..

Come on… Deion had 1 year of college coaching experience at Jackson State when FSU hired Norvell in late 2020. No Power 5 school would have hired him then, let alone a national power like FSU.
