Vivek & Musk to lead DOGE. IMO, the most important thing to come out of this election.....by far, and it's not close. And that's coming from a guy ecstatic about No Tax on SS.

An actual committee with a begining and an end.....Jan 21, 25 to no further than July 4, 2026.

Goal to cut $2 T from federal Govt.

This is the threat to not Democracy but......... Bureaucracy.

My input.....
1. It's past time & long overdue.
2. And why stop @ $2T?

Start with dismantling the unneeded of the 435 agencies and firing them all. Perhaps the Dept of Education for starters? Then FEMA.....and roll one after another. We can guess at which might be dismantled, by who he has NOT yet appointed a nominee.

Great movie. A classic. The guy babbling about his stapler is great and reminds me a bit of Biden.

Alot of mystery how this might work, if at all? Certainly putting 2 genius guys behind this effort is a great step.....but the US Govt bureaucracy is a hard girl to tame. Excited about the effort though.

Given that Vivek could have done multiple positions for Trump, not to mention Senator to take JDVs position, the fact that this one they settled on, shows me he is excited by the challenge. Combine that with the genius of Musk, it might be successful.

I would love to see Mitch be part of the DOGE effort. He’s got real world experience thinning out a bloated bureaucracy.

There's a lot of people in the federal govt updating their resumes right now.......
I hope so but I doubt it. They are safe within their union and massive bureaucratic protections.

Only real funding cuts or attrition can drive them out - and why would anyone retire from a government job?

In fairness, some of those jobs will be very important now - border patrol and ICE, for example.

Are they safe if the whole department is done away with, closed & canceled and all fired?

Would be like shutting up a business, Union does them no good then I believe??

Then interviewing begins for a new office -handling the very limited sort of essentials of all closed Depts. Call it the.....Office of Administration. They handle the functioning needs but can make no regulations. Essential functions are added as departments are closed....one after another.

That's the way to knock them off, one by one. How about one a month for 4 years....yes, like that alot.

And I had heard they could move some jobs, and decrease the pay of those jobs.

“Hey, the bad news is that your job now pays 70K instead of 100K, but the good news is that your job has moved to Fort Wayne Indiana, which has a much lower cost of living than northern Virginia!”

Heard moves were considered. How about Minneapolis......and $50K or whatever the average wage is in MN Bonus.....real nice in Jan. Lol.
