Great loss

Yes we played about as well as possible against AL. Well the team balanced that out last night....going the opposite way.

The positives I saw were the team fighting back over and over getting it to 4 & 5 several times. Until the final surrender.

Also was impressed with Colvin's rebounding(8). Which was good as it made up for Heide who only found 2 Rs....whereas prior to this game I thought Heide realized that was his role?? Should consider lower minutes if he is only getting 2 Rs imo.

Great loss

So many issues. Frosh played like frosh! Gicarri needs to stop the silly slap and retaliation fouls. Cox forced a few. Both O fers.
Caleb frustrated the heck out of me. Some nice moves and plays made. But the inability to get a shot off in traffic is crazy. He catches the ball and gathers himself before jumping, giving time to get to him AND making himself very small in relation to a 6'9" guy shooting it. He would have had 3 or 4 more EASY baskets if he could learn to catch the ball and IMMEDIATELY redirect it to the rim. Not stop and gather, immediate flow from catch to shoot ala Fletcher when close to the basket. Don't try to go over the D, beat the D to the rim. He did a lot of other things well including some "man" rebounds.
Fletch was overmatched physically and scrambled to be a factor. Braden was god awful but still 1 assist from a double double. Only listed as 2 turnovers but he had a lot of bad passes. Needed a lot more from those 2 to beat a team like this at home.
We homered for sure. They were literally bear hugging guys at times. Trey shoved his way out of that 3 or 4 times and showed his frustration. Not a great game but he battled and is showing me something. needs more help.
Great learning game.

Linda McMahon: So being co-CEO of a wrastling federation qualifies you for Secretary of Education

It's called diversity. The lack of diversity does not respresent the diverseness of America. However, she is a woman. Perhaps Chump was trying to check that box. And that's kinda my other point I'm making. I have yet to hear you guys say that the white woman that Chump has selected are DEI hires. But when a black woman gets selected for something, its automatically a DEI hire.

Chump selected a white woman as press secretary. Not one of you mentioned if she was a DEI hire. But when Biden chose a black woman as his press secretary, she was a DEI hire according to y'all. White women have benefited from affirmative action more than any group, but that's ok apparently.

You tell me, is Linda McMahon qualified to be Secretary of Education?
Yes, she's very qualified.
She was the CEO of a multinational corporation for nearly 30 years. Just because she didn't teach grade school math doesn't mean she's not qualified.
She's going to come in and trim the fat and make the dept more efficient.

Great loss

The team was flat and seemed “hung over” still from the bama game. They seemed to think they could just go in and win because they are who they are. But our backcourt needed to step up and they did not.

I love smith and am his biggest fan and have been on here saying he’s the best PG in our programs history.

HOWEVER. While he has been good, I have noticed that his body language (yeah yeah I know Colvin blah blah blah 😂) isn’t great when it comes to his teammates not being in the right spot or missing one of his passes, or even when a call doesn’t go Purdues way. I feel, at times, he acts a bit entitled, like he has earned the right to a call or he can kind of half ass it on a play. He got up for the bama game, but it seems for some of these other games he’s lost that “chip on his shoulder” mentality.

He needs to understand real quick that this is HIS team and we go as far as he takes us. It may not be pretty and all great stats this year for him, but just win in any way possible. He had lazy passes last night and that set the tone for others on the team too. Sure Marquette was physical, but so what? So is northwestern and every other big ten team. Players take notice who is called better than them—individually and team wise. We are the hunted and will be all year, as other teams can smell blood/will try to take advantage of no NPOTYx2 in the middle anymore.

The sky is not falling and this is why you schedule these type of games. You learn a lot more in these as compared to scheduling a majority of cupcakes/mid majors and beating them by 20+. Hope the team can learn from this and get better and have the mentality of “hunting” and not being “the hunted”.

Excited to see how they bounce back over the next few games.

Can’t line up correctly

He's a decent back. Not sure how many other B10 teams he's start for.
Having vision and hitting the right hole is sort of a minimal expectation for a RB playing in the B10.
He's just not a guy that's going to get to the second level and break a 60 yard TD by outrunning everyone.
He does have above average hands for pass catching.
I won’t say he’ll get drafted but I’m betting g you’ll see him in the NFL

Purdue at Marquette: MASTER DISCUSSION THREAD

Disagree on Cam and Colvin.
Other that shooting open 3s and the occasional backdoor, neither of them have the ability to get their own shot and neither has the ball handling to penetrate and get to the rim.
Colvin tried it one time along the base line and got hung up, resulting in a TO.

Don't totally disagree, Lenny - Cam Heide can flash with the ball from the wing, and does have the ability to finish through/with contact, IMO.

Biggest takeaways I saw - Purdue needs a little more poise on the road, Marquette is good, Boilers are a work-in-progress but definitely a good team (not top 10).....future/potential is bright. No big surprises to me.

JMHO

Now....back to the grindstone, haha....

Linda McMahon: So being co-CEO of a wrastling federation qualifies you for Secretary of Education

What does skin color have to do with anything?

Do you complain that there should be more white players in the NBA?
Apparently skin color was important for you when it came to blacks voting for Chump. Over and over you kept bragging, incorrectly mind you, of the elevated black numbers voting for Chump. So apparently you like diversity when it comes getting your man elected. Now that he won diversity doesn't matter to you now.

You are certainly obsessed with the selection of people based on skin color.
The main gist of the post was to point the ridiculousness of the selection pick. However, as non-qualified as McMahon appears to be, there are a lot folks more qualified that should have been selected including black educators. The woman is not even an educator in any form.

And Chump can't select blacks for these cabinet positions. Unbelievable.

Purdue at Marquette: MASTER DISCUSSION THREAD

This is a real thing. Colvin just can’t dribble the ball. He tried a drive tonight, which I think may have been the first time I’ve ever seen him dribble, and it just resulted in an ugly miss. He has no offensive game whatsoever beyond catch and shoot from 3. Same with Heide. They are what they are.
Been saying this for a while Both guys can jump, but neither can dribble or penetrate. They're both spot up 3 pt shooters with the occasional fast break points. But neither can create or shake good man D.

Purdue at Marquette: MASTER DISCUSSION THREAD

This kind of game is tailor-made for Myles/Cam to step up on offense….

totally disagree!
Get them bloodied and learning what it takes!!!

Mock better at finding and hitting a hole. Yes. He’s not a top end burner. Doesn’t mean he’s not a good back.

Speculation from Spartanwire.

Some of you are delusional. And all you care about is Purdue winning football games! And if they don’t, you want everyone and everything fired! You’re all upset that IU is having an awesome year. So instead of being a good sport, And giving them props for their accomplishments, you still hate them. And want the Purdue coach fired because he’s not as successful.

Let’s look at this logically. Walters is going to coach the MSU game. If he loses, the quickest he would be fired would be Saturday night or Sunday. And who is going to be given the job of coaching Purdue against IU? Someone outside the school? That’s not going to happen within one week. Purdue doesn’t have an offensive Coordinator to step in. Looking at our scores, would you really want Purdue’s defense coordinator to be in charge against a high powered Indiana offense!

So, if Walters is not going to be fired until after the MSU game, who in your mind is going to come in and coach Purdue? And please don’t say Dree Breese is going to mysteriously show up and lead us to victory!

It’s time to go back into the real world and accept the facts. Purdue suks this year! And Walters isn’t going anywhere until the season is over!
POTFH

Great loss

Agree that it is a great loss for us that the team needed. Hard to watch.

However, it won't be the last time we see that as it also a good game for those that scout us. Going to be a tough year on the road.

Surprised by how Cox and Colvin couldn't get anything done on offense.

Also surprised Wole actually had a decent post.... what's up with that??
