IU did not deserve to be in CFP. Great article by USA Today

Yeah they think those garbage touchdowns they got mean something... ND essentially made Indinia look like a JV squad until they let up the gas. And as much as I hate ND, giving them any sort of "kudos" is painful to say the least :)......... but it's fact, Indinia like SMU just didn't belong and both of those teams getting throttled proved it.

But trying to explain that to a guy with at least 3 IDs on here is just futile. He can't even count to 10 for crying out loud.
or the fact of not beating one ranked opponent and losing badly to both. His response was those teams lost to unranked teams.....just proves the point that they can beat anyone and IU just simply can't and why they didn't belong.

OT: league competition

That was Based on a lot of social media chatter over offseason. Illinois looks to be pretty good tho. Will be interested to see if they can keep it up for conference play.

Illinois putting up 109 on the road against what has been a pretty good Oregon team is a message to the whole B10 as well as the nation. That Lithuanian freshmen is crazy good. And using the portal well for example, to bring in the Tipton kid, or the well traveled White, has helped them a ton. They have some talent and are well coached. It's a long season, but teams that have to play them twice, look to be at a disadvantage.

Purdue at Minnesota: MASTER DISCUSSION THREAD

All road wins are good wins. But Braden makes any game winnable. An amazing player. B10 player of the week given the last 2 games imo.

Love that Furst got going and C & H found a way to help off the bench. MN, even at the Barn in my opinion is not a good team. They look like they might be the cellar dweller of the B10 this year.

Loyer was so fun to watch last night. He was just having fun and is just a crazy good shooter. But that last shot was nuts.
Yeah I kept thinking “man, Minny is soooo bad”. We didn’t execute well first half but Minnesota was even worse. Parker Fox (7th year senior who was in same class as Sasha, wheeler, Haarms and Nojel) had some reeeeeeaalllllly bad turnovers and decision making.

Glad we got it going in 2nd half. Not sure if it was second half adjustments or shots just being made, but like you said, no road game in B1G is easy.

Going to be a tough one at home vs a very solid Northwestern team who have lost a few close B1G road games.

The stars are evident and great contribution by Furst, but also… Kudos to Colvin and Heide for playing better, especially 9 boards. I got on them for 1 board last game. They also had 4 assists, 2 steals and 5 points. Colvin had the short dribble and pull up two we thought was there if the three was not falling.
.

C & H handled their responsibilities tonight - well done. Will have to see that starting lineup get going faster ....28 pt halves won't cut it. Not sure if that was a function of the starting lineup or how the game was being called though.

53-34 second half for the Boilers, well done to secure the first road win of the season. 81-61 final for Purdue.

That 2nd half might have been our best offensive half of the year. Everything was clicking.. Even if it was vs MN, it was still a 53 PT half on the road in the B10....no small feat.

This was a good win in a lot of ways in how the game played out. This is a confidence builder in how things played out in a Purdue team that maybe was a bit more unsure than the recent past. Game was physical early and close. Fouls on Trey and then Caleb a bit with Braden’s stroke off a bit, but they hung in there and the refs found their pea and then shots other than Fletch started to fall. I like CJ and Caleb starting

#6 Seed Penn St Upsets #3 Seed Boise St…

the top 4 seeds go the the top ranked conference champions (automatic bids). The rest are lower ranked conference champions or at large bids. I think it's fine for now. You'd want the top 5 conference champions in the mix. Penn State was heavily favored to win the game and should have been salivating with the draw they got - especially compared to ND's bracket.

I guess there's an argument if the Mountain West was higher ranked than the ACC, but I think the ACC's bowl results spoke for that.

WL/Campus Recommendations?

Okay, following up here. I ended up going to DT Kirby’s by myself (didn’t drag along the nephews, promised to give them the paint crew experience later). Ubered to Mackey and back to DTs. The uber/lyft back was a little delayed since kids were outta town (less drivers) but it wasn’t terrible (small wait). All in all, it was a great experience otherwise…they had 312 on tap (miss that, being out of town). The game was great, too, sat center court and it was family night so the crowd was engaged but not too wild. Glad to finally have made it down that way. Thank you all for the recommendations.

Big Ten

Indeed. Oregon looks good. But we will see how they shake out in the B1G schedule. This has been an ongoing problem for the Big Ten. Over the years the amount of elite talent has started to drop off. A lot of it going to the SEC. The thing about the Big Ten is that coaches are good at game planning against other Big Ten schools. It isn't like Big Ten schools aren't good, they just aren't elite. Like the past two years there was Purdue. There have been great years throughout the 2010s where you had Michigan State who was nationally elite. Ohio State. Purdue. Wisconsin. Illinois a couple of years. Indiana a couple of years. Maryland a couple of years. Michigan. Just don't have that elite talent and nationally elite teams. Oregon, UCLA and Michigan State look like the best. Michigan and Purdue right behind that or even in that group.
Washington over Maryland. Good battle between Osobor and Reese. Queen not ready to mix it up with the big boys. Looks like Illinois will blow out Oregon out west.
