Full Ride with Childers and Neuheisel (sic?) talked at length about the Oklahoma St situation this morning. Basically it's a disaster. Picked to be near or at the top of the B12 this year, they didn't win a conference game. So they made a deal with Gundy that instead of firing him, they cut his salary and his buyout, and that money seems to be funneling to the players somehow. They talked about the DC hire, but nothing about OC that I heard. But if his salary got cut, you have to think the assistant pool didn't get any bigger, so Purdue, with Odom, in the better conference, would have to be a better opportunity. If he goes to Oklahoma state I don’t get it. I thought being in the big ten alone meant you won all of these battles
He's definitely worried about getting blocked, which will happen. But he's got to commit and attack. Just go hard and try to draw contact.I think he just doesn't have much margin for error. (doensn't jump that well and/or shorter arms)
Like a lot of us more gravity challenged he (seems to) needs a running start to throw it down. Flat footed off both feet is not his strength. Agreed, he needs dunk it. But harder to commit if you know you cant' get there every time.
Or maybe he can throw it down flatfooted but shies from the contact? Seems less likely given his willingness to bang in the paint defensively. He definitely crouches down to collect himself for an all out effort. I'd like to see him just GO. RIGHT NOW, no hesitation or collecting of self. Speed to the rim. Plenty of those misses he could have gone right up and been there BEFORE the defender can react.
Watch Fletch in the lane, get it off QUICK can work just as well as going over people. Just not as much fun to watch.
Poor Bob, such the bleeding heart lib.Of course it should have been brought to trial. He killed a man with his bare hands who had no weapon. Just because the jury came up with the correct verdict doesn't mean it it wasn't a valid charge.
Well if you read, I said he'd have to be on it that night.Myles Rice would have to play his very best and Braden his worst to outplay Braden you Loosier.
I definitely wanted an offensive guy, and my first instinct was a bit of disappointment. But I like Odom. Seems like the closest we could reasonably expect to get as a “can’t miss” competent hire, given our current circumstances.Barely beat us. A team that ended up 6-7. Meh
I actually ended up agreeing with many people here by the end of the Walters era. We need an offensive innovator. Not a “football guy.” A leader of men will just end up getting beat by leaders of men with better Jimmys and Joes here
When a guy is not in the offensive game plan (at this point he's not) then he's only going to get opportunity points. Offensive rebound put backs, run the floor dunks. When you are over 7' tall you should make most of those. But I do think you are right, he should play more until that drops. I suspect his lack of pt is much more on the other end and again, matchups have not been favorable for a slower big guy. Zach as a frosh would not have played much against Marquette or Bama or PSU or Maryland or Creighton or Miss St. (JMO)When TKR is our biggest player on the field we are at best an average rebounding team. I think it’s no secret a big part of last year’s formula for success was the sheer number of extra possessions we got through rebounding. A few minutes per game of Berg/TKR frontcourt could help in that department, and while Berg’s in there, give the guy the ball. At this point he’s hitting 92% from the floor. Not saying he needs starter minutes, but anybody hitting that percentage is just not getting enough shots while they’re in the game.
Did I mention (small sample size or not) he’s over 91% from 2?
Of course it should have been brought to trial. He killed a man with his bare hands who had no weapon. Just because the jury came up with the correct verdict doesn't mean it it wasn't a valid charge.I would have lost all hope in the judicial system had he been convicted. He should never been brought to trial in the first place.
Don't worry Bob, Trump will clean up the mess Biden has enabled in the Middle East....probably right after he pardon's all the Jan 6 convictions. (That'll be a great day in American history)Nice of you to stop by Tulsi.
His UNLV OC is a top innovator. If we can get him I think we probably win 6 year one.Barely beat us. A team that ended up 6-7. Meh

Nice of you to stop by Tulsi.Credit? Biden doesn’t know what day it is. Our planned regime changes haven't exactly worked out well in the area. Assad was better than ISIS. Believe HTS is a designated terrorist organization. We'll see.
Those were the NY BLM "leadership" who were huffing and puffing in front of the camera. Just race hustlin....should have ended much sooner. Saw a black guy on TV saying "Now they are choking us." and you shake your head and are thankful the guy doesn't have to think to breathe or he would be dead.
is Phil Longo available?Who cares? That was his 2nd season as a young HC, they started 1-5 and ended up 7-6, 4-4 in the SEC. Won 8 the following year.
I agree. I think losing Heldt would hurt He's very Ryan Kerrigan-like and has the build to play in the NFL.They were coachable mistakes that weren't being corrected by our "coaches" though.
Credit? Biden doesn’t know what day it is. Our planned regime changes haven't exactly worked out well in the area. Assad was better than ISIS. Believe HTS is a designated terrorist organization. We'll see.The Iranians and Russians are being pushed out of Syria. Hamas and Hezbollah have been severely damaged. Leaders taken out. Israel is destroying Assad's chemical weapons and missile batteries and moving into the buffer zone in Syria.
Does Biden get credit for this or only the blame when the world was burning?
Again with the "guaranteed minutes"? What fairy tale are you reading that makes you think this is a condition of acquiring a portal player? What causes you to assume that MP and staff didn't evaluate the portal last spring ? Do you think that's something they would have advertised with the number of players returning and the huge incoming freshman class?
Now if you want to advocate that Purdue's staff should take a different approach to the portal, promising big paydays and/or guaranteed minutes, that's a different argument.
They were coachable mistakes that weren't being corrected by our "coaches" though.Heldt looked good coming off the bus, but man, did he make a lot of mistakes once the ball was snapped. He'll get paid somewhere though.

Agree on the explosiveness and also the willingness to shoot an open 3. Not sure what's happened but he doesn't get off the floor as quickly as he used to.Apologies if this was posted elsewhere, but does anyone have a clip of Caleb's missed dunk versus Maryland. I was multitasking and sort of half saw it out of the corner of my eye. My first reaction was that even though he missed it, that's a positive development for Caleb. In high school and earlier in his Purdue career, we saw that he could be a more explosive finisher than he's been showing. I'd rather see him try to dunk everything and miss a few than regularly get his shot blocked.
I was really hoping that Myles and or Cam would have developed a better handle and be able to attack when Smith is doubled. To this point they haven't shown that ability. I agree, it's most likely the freshmen that will need to do that. Texas A&M and more so Auburn will be great tests to see if we've made some progress. Both are quick, physical teams that don't stop coming at you on defense.they should get a lot of experience this year and hopefully improve in that area. None have the speed of Lance, but both could be good enough. We shall see. Matt saw this and why Giccari was starting earlier
