I lost a FF championship thanks to them. Giving up 45 pts to Lock. You could have taken our defense and I think it wouldn't have been much worse.

Harper is pretty good.

They could win 12. They have to show up on the road to do so. 10-12 win range. Happy to be proved wrong in March.

Pairing McCarthy and Gordon at the same time sounds like something CKG would do, but it would be a recipe for losing. Neither Gordon or McCarthy are quick enough to guard a forward that can shoot threes and put the ball on the floor to blow past them. Puryear might be able to play the 4 but that's not a given either.

Really want to know why we have players sitting out games for personal reasons weeks in a row.

They could probably win ~12 games in conference.

Alaina Harper was recruited to get Caitlyn back for her 5th year. Beyond that she has no value on a Big Ten team. There is no reason beyond gross incompetence by CKG for recruiting Collier and Mahri Petree. Bass was the best pf the staff could land, but she is not a BT caliber player. She also seems a low motor kind of player, only interested in getting her points. You cannot call this a rebuilding year when you are playing transfer seniors the majority of the minutes. It's just a lost season with a coaching staff that has no idea how to build a winning team.

Toledo has won the last FOUR league championships. Don't know what they lost last season but that is a solid team with good long athletes on the front line. Disappointing numbers for sure, but "against Toledo" doesn't mean what you mean it to.

Like anything else now, if NIL is good players will come, if it’s mediocre you’ll get transfers like Lombard and Bass from small programs who really won’t make a difference in wins and losses. As for Harper, she’s probably a great kid, not a Big Ten player, that was a transfer that probably didn’t need to happen.

Expecting your team to win pretty much every game is setting yourself up for disappointment, yet we all do it when our team is very good.
Agreed on the more tense than enjoyable, as great as it was.
Being the hunted all the time is HARD....

Agreed. if he doesn't get calls he ends up putting a shoulder into someone hard in retaliation. he's gotten away with close no call several times in that situation.

Itis always great to have the bowl game in a place someone would want to visit at that time of the year and that has a lot of other things to see and do besides the game. The game is then a plus win (preferably) or lose (not a blowout).

Actually, no - at least not right now, as Purdue is #37 NET. Q1 home games are top - 30. For now, that's a "good" Q2 win. For Purdue, however, it's a Quad 1 loss, as Penn State is top 75 (#32 NET) for a road game. It can get crazy as NET rankings are somewhat fluid.

Every top half sec team is almost all seniors/covid seniors. Probably makes a large difference. Hopefully regresses to the mean some next year

I don’t think he agrees with your premise. When team scheme to take away the big three two things need to happen 1) if the defense is cheating off of the other two guys to take away the B3, the other two need to make them pay 2) MP and PJ need to do a better job of finding counters when the defense is selling out to take away certain actions.

Cam and Myles missing a bunch of open looks vs Toledo (and Texas A&M) is problematic but I wouldn’t confuse that with needing to run sets for players outside of the big three. Braden and Trey are also still learning to play without Zach and many times just need to execute better and make better decisions.
