Baha Mar - Purdue to play Memphis

Purdue vs Memphis and Wake Forest vs Texas Tech in other matchup:

Memphis basketball is expected to face Purdue on the first day of the Baha Mar Hoops Championship, according to Boilermakers coach Matt Painter.
The multi team event is set for Nov. 20-21 at the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar at Nassau, Bahamas, and the four-team field will also include Wake Forest and Texas Tech, Painter said during an interview with Andy Katz on May 19 on his podcast, "The Sideline with Andy Katz."
Discussing Purdue's 2025-26 non-conference schedule, Painter said: "We’re playing Memphis neutral and, then, either Wake Forest or Texas Tech neutral."

Those pesky courts.

That was actually a Trump win. He can't deport Venezuelans under the Alien Enemies Act. But he can now deport Venezuelans by revoking their Temporary Protected Status that was granted by the brain-dead Biden zombie. Either way, greaseballs go bye-bye.

I'll never understand how you guys get labeled as racist.

Trump has two HUGE cases for the Supreme Court right now

Birthright citizenship for anchor babies of illegals and federal district judges ruling on cases outside their districts. My hunch, Trump will lose on birthright kids and win on restricting the decisions of federal judges to the local plaintiffs.

I am curious for you maga folks. Are you for or against birthright citizenship?

Republicans are very pro constitution, or they used to be at least. You had Scalia as a full blown textualist Supreme Court judge. The 14th amendment very clearly states that if you are born in the United States then you are a us citizen. So you should be pro birthright citizenship.. right?

I honestly don’t think there any if any circumstance where Paint backs off of KInney if his interest in Purdue remains high. Build a stable of SPECIAL guards and ride them as far as they can help you get…
It’d be:

Cox
Harris
Mayer
Benter
West
Ertel
Kinney

I could see Kinney being more of Lousiville lean. I think UK has too many guards (will have too many next year) and a possibility of not as much PT, like here. Especially for a potential 1 and done.

With that said, it’d be great if we got him! Along with both Thompsons.

2026 recruits

Let's get both Thompsons...Trey and Anthony!

IU just offered Trey. Very similar to Sisley, so interesting to hear their pitch. He had quite a few high majors watching him over weekend, so the secret is out.

Looking at how much Devries prioritized shooting/skill in portal, it will be interesting to see if IU and Purdue have some more head to head battles and are looking for the same type of player.

Thanks. But this video just talks about general pass through of the tariffs to consumers prior to the earnings call. Do you have another one or an article about the earnings call saying Walmart’s prices are going up by the end of May due to the tariffs and Trump’s threats about that? Livenow from fox mentions it, but can’t find anything from Fox News.
How about we wait and see if Walmart's prices go up at the end of May.

Those pesky courts.

Trump should just create an executive order to have them disbanded.

With Ertel coming in next year and (assuming he’s here) Mayer, will be interesting to see if painter pursues Kinney/if Kinney’s interest remains strong for Purdue.

I mentioned it.

We aren’t out of the woods yet, though. Looks like prices are just starting to increase from the tariffs with Walmart being a big example. Have to see how that plays out now that companies are starting to run out of inventory.

Edit: wanted to add that it is weird that Fox News isn’t really reporting on the Walmart tariff stuff. Although it is interesting to see trumps tactics on dealing with the tariffs. He’s asking companies to just eat the loss in profits with vague threats? I’ll admit I didn’t see that coming.. let’s see what happens here.

Faux News is a state run network. It’s no surprise that they are not reporting the Walmart price increase.

Who was it on here I tried to bet back in Feb/Mar when the stock market going to hell and the lefty lib dems were all doing a victory dance, that in 6 months, the market would be higher than it was at it's lowest point at that time?

None of our resident dems were willing to take that bet.
