I don't think we'd want Loyer playing D in the post either, even if their bigs were no good. Alternatively, he could have been on Dix or Thelwell, but that would have put either Braden or Cox on Sandfort primarily at a huge size disadvantage.

On Thelwell, I had actually never heard of him before Monday, but he was honored pregame for hitting 1,000 career points.
so you basically agree with my "team match up "being the consideration. Your answer is the most common in that a team match-up is usually that. Some will work hard to shut the others down and not worry about the one. Others want to shut the one player down and don't think the others can beat you. Some play for the switch to end up with what they want. Some don't worry so much about the size, but is the guy a catch and shoot guy or will the player need to defend the drive...or both. Lot of considerations , but rarely does the lab planning come out as you desire... ;)

Brilliant. So you're rejecting science across the board because the experts didn't have all the correct answers for a never before seen virus and you're pissed cause you had to wear a mask. Also because, while climate change is real, some disagree on what causes it.

Rejecting science because they don't have all the answers when you think they should. You're an intelligent man. You understand that scientists get it wrong all the time right? It's the very process of getting it wrong that leads them to get it right after more analysis and experiments and evaluation and testing and discussion and ......on and on.

Jesus man. A well read intelligent person like yourself has become someone who rejects science thanks to examples of things that STILL AREN'T completely understood. Your politics have taken over your common sense. You're drawing the conclusions one would expect from a high school dropout. Unbelievable.
Let me help you again...and I really don't have time for this. There NEVER EVER was by Pfizer or Moderna any support that the shot would stop transmission...NONE. However, the country was shut down, education went to hell and many people lost businesses due to something that was NEVER claimed to do. Once it was well known by all that the shot would never stop transmission, Biden still fired those in the military and such for not getting the shot to stop transmission even thought it was a well known to not be able to do that.

Climate change under the context we are experiencing an abnormal condition that will be detrimental to life in general is not well founded for a variety of reasons already presented in this forum in the past. It does however have the capacity to keep money flowing to certain groups and or people even though we know that in modeling and predicting outside the data there is always a risk that it is wrong. There are a LOT of hypothesis that are assumed to not be in play, that may be in play as far as the variable listed and not listed. I'm not opposed to watching and studying although it would be good to see equal money going to research about there not being a threat for a more balanced understanding. Actually, anytime you have a model with repeated measures of the variables in question that create an error term, that error term is what cannot be explained by the model which states that weighting is what is not explained by the model or what part of the science is still not understood.

DOGE has already cancelled over $1 BILLION in government DEI contracts.

this is why other foreign leaders laughed at Biden but fear Trump. Perfect example. It's not about being nice guys, it's about putting Americans and our tax money first, not being taken advantage of for our generosity (NATO) and not funding worthless things like transgender comic books.
And the DEI aspect aside, one of those grants was $70,000 program for a musical in Ireland. Why are we spending foreign aid in Ireland?

5th year transfer from Moorehead State.

For those that praise Chump’s tariffs

That question cannot be answered with a "yes" or "no." It depends on the circumstances and there are many considerations other than the economy, e.g. national security. I believe the tariffs that Trump threatened to impose on Mexico and Canada have been very good for the United States of America. And their effect on the ecomomy was virtually zero.

Japan's steel dumping? Tariffs were good for the US economy. China pirating our computer technology and then underselling US companies. Yes, tariffs are a good retaliation for the US.
It's didn't do anything.......except scare the hell out of the markets. Is that a good sign moving forward when he actually institutes the tariffs?

I noticed in your reply you deleted this question.
"Do you believe, like trump, that the cost of tariffs aren't passed on to the consumer?"

Don't want to tackle that one?

Burgess had a pretty poor game last night. I could hear Painter screaming at him when we were on offense in the first half. I think he blamed both of those trap turnovers on him. Really chewed him out coming back to the bench and then I don't think he played in the 2nd half.
He didn't play again after that sequence. He only played 5 minutes. Good learning experience for him and I'm sure he will be better prepared the next time.

Gorin flips to L'Ville ?

He didnt. He took 3 high school recruits when he left.
No no no. Brohm flipped 3 HS recruits when he left. There were probably a dozen who were being recruited by both Purdue and Louisville but had not yet committed that went with Brohm at U of L. That's where the real damage was done. Brohm had spent years recruiting many of those kids at Purdue expense. That's the really insideous nature of this. Brohm's pitch was "Purdue would be a great place for you. Here's why Louisville would be better."

“Both countries have been accused of violating an agreement signed alongside the USMCA to limit steel exports between each other. Some Americans, including Trump, have said that Mexico has exceeded the level of exports allowed under the agreement.”

“The U.S. government has been concerned over China–Mexico trade, particularly in the automotive sector, because it fears that Chinese companies can use Mexico to export to the U.S., circumventing tariffs on China and taking advantage of the USMCA.”

“ . . . both countries were unfairly profiting from the United States's trade deficits . . . “

“Canada was not allowing U.S. banks to "open or do business there"; Canada allows American banks to operate commercially in the country but had restricted personal banking to protect its citizens from bank failure.”

Wiki. Really. That bastion of factual reporting lol.

This is a fact to you?
"Some Americans, including Trump, have said that Mexico has exceeded the level of exports allowed under the agreement.”

Violations of the USMCA have never been mentioned before to my knowledge. Did trump talk about it in the campaign?

First it was illegals. Then fentanyl. Then the banks, which he lied about. Now they're cheating on the USMCA. See a pattern?

Trudeau promised the 1.3 billion back in December. Nothing new. Mexico already has 15k troops at the border.

Love our coaches and team but never will understand putting Fletcher on the other team's best player. Why wouldn't we have Furst guarding the 6'8" shooter at the start of the game?

Hard to say what the coaching staff was trying to do. I didn't pay that much attention due to be concerned with the team being asleep the first half. Plenty of defensive breakdowns...and little flow in the offense. It may have been the best team match up they could use in their opinion. They may have seen some things and figured that after the first switch they would have what they wanted. I don't know enough about Iowa's offensive players as far as size and such. I mean Stanfort and Dix have been around for some time. I have no idea, but you can bet there was a reason why that match-up was out there. This is not to imply it was the best scenario, but that thought (right or wrong) went into the decision

It's tough. He can get early one on D and he sets so many screens for Smith the law of averages is that one gets called as a moving screen. He has to be morrnconscious of that, especially early and try not to reach early on D and give up a layup if he he's beaten at the basket.
Except for the one on Sandfort at center court, which might not even be characterized as one, there were no moving screens yesterday IIRC.

Will IU accept a NIT bid?

Don't know. Don't care.

Thought this was a joke and then looked and saw that they are 5-7 and the first team out right now is 4-8. The only games they are projected to win the rest of the way are PSU and @ Washington.
Minnesota and Northwestern winning yesterday crunched the bottom half of the B1G standings. There are suddenly a lot of teams in danger of missing it. There was a thread on the Iowa board worried about it before yesterday's game.

I believe we can currently be no lower than 10th. Lots of permutations obviously.

I would give an answer, but Bob and he believe scientists, rather than me and so whatever scientists say it would follow that would be their belief if consistent. Course we know about science with the Chinese virus transmission, gain of function and so forth...dangers of climate change and the overthrow of the government on J6.

B1G POY and National Player

It just seems insane to how we are most likely going to have 3 back to back to back B1G players of the year. Might have 3 National Player of the year awards if it wasn't for Cooper Flagg and Johnni Broome. The talent that Painter sees in young players is just absolutely insane. He does it year after year. Great time to be a Boiler basketball fan. Can't say the same about football (yet).

IMHO - Colvin and Heide just need to find out what their roles are and play it well.

I do wonder if we'd be a better team with DJ? I feel like his absence has led to Furst getting back on track and Burgess showing us what he's capable of.

It's how America has a positive influence around the world through helping people rather than using threats, intimidation, and fear. Not surprising that neither you haven't heard of it.

Gorin flips to L'Ville ?

It appears you do not understand what transpired. If we had hired a faithful coach instead of Brohm, there wouldn't have been a Walters. And Brohm had more than 7 Purdue portal transfers and HS flips in his first year at U of L.
He didnt. He took 3 high school recruits when he left. He did t take any current players until Walters chased off Miller and Allen after spring.

I’ve cited my #s. Cite yours.

They have been good. I'd like to see them or others contribute 12 or so points in a game, just one of the frosh or Furst, or Colvin or Heide too. That would take Purdue from very good to great. Especially as they hit foul trouble here and there.
