Is it just me or do these guys look like seasoned veterans out there? Even though neither has a large scoring role yet, these two have exceeded my expectations and are a huge part, in my opinion, of why Purdue is now in first place in the Big Ten. I trust both to handle the ball and take a big shot when it is available, but more than that, I love seeing both of them play defense. I can’t imagine that I would be more pleased with the kid who went to Kentucky than I am with these 2. The future is bright!

I'd say that there were times in our past, where I cringed when certain players were on the court. You never knew what to expect. That said, with these two, it is not even a worry as they bring life to the team. Sometimes I actually frown when they go to the bench. Our ability to use different combinations with these two only have made us good.

They've been fantastic. Could either of them step up and handle the ball when Braden needs to take a break?

They could, IMO.....a few times doing it when Smith is in the game, including last evening. Also gives Purdue a different look for the opponent with Smith off the ball.

And sometimes against pressure, but it is a gradual process.

They have been good. I'd like to see them or others contribute 12 or so points in a game, just one of the frosh or Furst, or Colvin or Heide too. That would take Purdue from very good to great. Especially as they hit foul trouble here and there.

IMHO - Colvin and Heide just need to find out what their roles are and play it well.

I do wonder if we'd be a better team with DJ? I feel like his absence has led to Furst getting back on track and Burgess showing us what he's capable of.

Burgess had a pretty poor game last night. I could hear Painter screaming at him when we were on offense in the first half. I think he blamed both of those trap turnovers on him. Really chewed him out coming back to the bench and then I don't think he played in the 2nd half.

He didn't play again after that sequence. He only played 5 minutes. Good learning experience for him and I'm sure he will be better prepared the next time.

On that second one, I thought Painter might get an accidental "T" because he was right there almost on the court with the official.....didn't know what happened at first, then they showed the replay.....he was "not pleased" shall we say. Think he said "Go Fudgein help him!" Might not have been "fudge", though.....haha.
