Curious to see if we find our shooting again as 3s have been hard to come by.

Need to battle on the boards so we don’t give them second chances threes.

Also, think this is a game where we have to push the pace and don’t ease up.

They made as many threes just against Nebraska as the last five games, combined.....ouch.

Since Nebraska game - Purdue as a team is 19/71 or 26.8%. On the road (2 games - 5/25 or just 20%). They definitely need to shore that up as soon as possible - they are getting good to decent looks - a few forced.....but it has been a collective slump lately.

On the bright side - Loyer is holding steady and Harris is trending up.

CJ Cox during that 5-game span is 1-5 (no attempts against Oregon nor Indiana)..... would like to see a few more attempts from him in a perfect world.

For those that praise Chump’s tariffs

Economists are saying it. The WSJ is saying it.
Yes, and the WSJ and the "economists" were wrong. It appears that you are brain dead to what has transpired over the past 48 hours. Trump's tariff threats against Mexico and Canada tanked the DJIA by almost 700 points. But then the Mexican president and Canadian prime minister caved and went groveling to Trump to postpone the tariffs until they could get effective immigration controls on illegal immigration and drug trafficking. The Dow regained 75% of its losses in the afternoon and today, at 11:00 am, the DJIA is HIGHER than it was when it began the plummet yesterday.

Bottom line: The WSJ and the "economists" were wrong and Trump pulled off a major diplomatic victory yesterday. And as Trump promised, this Biden open border lunacy is going to stop.

Wisconsin at Purdue

She played there in High School and is listed in Purdue's roster as a guard. She's filled in at the 4 because she is a team player, but she is better suited at the 2 or 3 spots.
I actually prefer her at the 4 for spacing reasons. Mckenna is sort of a tweener. She doesn't have the size against bigger 4's but I also don't think she has the lateral quickness to stay in front of some of the guards on the perimeter.

You lose another shooter on the floor as well if she plays the 3. I don't think Kira, Puryear, McCarthy, or Gordon will ever develop a consistent shot from 3. I'm going out on a limb because I haven't seen enough of Kira's game offensively, but I haven't heard anything about her being a shooter from distance.

It's just my preference, whatever works go with it.

DOGE has already cancelled over $1 BILLION in government DEI contracts.

Provided for those of you who dont know that 'USAID' is a CIA (deep state) front-group. On the outside, its a so-called "aid organization". Its REAL purpose is to work behind the scenes to overthrow democratically elected governments in Central and South America (staging/sponsoring coups, installing a puppet dictator). Trump is making very dangerous enemies.
Now I know this may come as a surprise to some of you that get your news from corporate media like cnn or fox.

Canada

Lol. I assume you trust a take from Fox.

Just like Covid infections right?

All kidding aside the egg price did come down from last week.

Shocker - Braden Smith named Cousy Finalist

To win this award Braden needs a few more memorable games against some ranked teams like MSU. I hate to say it but many times awards such as this go to the best player on the best team.

There were some controversies in the past where the pg award seemed to go to a shooting guard rather than a true point guard. So I guess scoring a bunch of points also helps.
It’s him vs Kam Jones and then a huge gap after them for everyone else. If Braden continues his streak of in conf play of avg 17 ppg, 9 assists, 4.4 rebounds and 4 steals, he should have a verrrry good argument to win it. And this is all while he’s not shooting it well from 3. If he just hits ONE more 3 pointer a game, he bumps it up to 20 and 9, which should give him the award.

Kam Jones also needs to keep producing, which he should, but doesn’t have near as many opportunities against “good teams” left as Braden does.

Edey

What everyone else said, plus IMO their team is already so loaded so there’s no pressure to bring along the new guy quickly when that would just raise his market value at a time when you’ve already got too many star players to carry on one roster.

With high production per minute played, I suspect the Grizz want to first lock up some of their other players but must be counting on Edey being a big part of their longer-term plan too.

The other thing is he’s been picked on a lot. Not just with Draymond Green, who tried to twist his ankle on the ground and antagonize him in multiple games after that, but similar things have been happening all season when he’s been in the game. If you didn’t see Drew Eubanks’ running hockey check into his shoulder about a week ago, it’s worth looking up. Nobody is worried about Zack Edey losing a fair fight, and I don’t think he has a reputation of being the aggressor in any of these situations, but people are messing with him (IMHO) out of fear that he could end up creating a movement of talented, big men that change the league. If you’re a 6’ 8-10” NBA player who plays Center or PF, you don’t wanna see basketball taken back to the era of dominant bigs.
Yeah I’ve seen guys trying to go at him and “test” him. And he doesn’t back down…Eubanks back tracked pretty quick after he barely moved Zach after running full steam ahead into him.

It’s just odd he doesn’t play much in the 4th Q it seems. But maybe they’re saving him more for the playoff run. I don’t watch much nba, but rooting for the guy of course! He continues to prove doubters wrong.

Edey

Why do they not play him more?!

Mid Year Big Ten Teams

Yours or something official? I didn't know they did that.

Whichever it is, where's Brice Williams from Nebraska?

I guess with 18 teams this is one of the things that's going to be different too.
I like both Williams of Neb and Claude of USC, really good players, but their numbers aren't up there with the guys above, but I believe both will be good Big guards in the NBA.

Nice Hanover Women's Basketball Senior Day Article About Katherine Benter, Jack's Older Sister

https://tribtown.com/2025/02/03/katherine-benter-makes-most-of-hanover-hoops-experience/

From the Seymour Tribune, my hometown newspaper. I still read it most days that it is published even though I have not lived there since leaving for Purdue in 1976.

Seymour and Jackson County, Indiana, will always be home for me.

Katherine sounds like a wonderful young lady who will be an excellent teacher. And the family seems well-grounded. Looking forward to Jack's Purdue debut next season.
