Purdue announces home-and-home with Iowa State

Replace Furst and maybe have a true serviceable 4…..he is one I’m mad we missed on. There was another guard from Ohio who picked UNC when they came in as a late offer. Can’t remember his name but he didn’t pan out because of injuries.
Washington has been a disappointment. But UNC themselves have been as well. Almost like Caleb love wasn't their problem.

Purdue announces home-and-home with Iowa State

Excellent - think we’ve only faced them a handful of times. Should be a good challenge.

Last meeting was a doozy - that crazy 2nd round 4/5 match-up in Milwaukee (2017 NCAA) where Purdue lost a 19-pt second half lead only to prevail in the last few minutes......plenty of stress, drama, and exuberance - just how we like it....haha.

Keep 'em coming - this is a great add and good for both programs.

Purdue set for home-and-home series against Iowa State, starting next season in Mackey Arena, followed by a trip to Ames in 2026-27.

Does anyone know if the refs ever review game films?

High quality refs put a stop to the rugby style of basketball we see in conference. They control the game so it doesn’t become a foul fest where they swallow their whistles because they don’t want to foul out the starting lineup. We see Izzo, Gard and Collins all crying and daring the refs to foul everyone out. A championship level ref ignores that and calls it black and white.
the refs in the iu - UCLA game called a pretty clean game. they weren't falling for the crazy off balance shot and the guy goes to the floor foul

Antione West JR update

A lot of ratings are based off of AAU results.

I believe we can also agree that many times a player of less athleticism is a better fit for Painter’s system.

I wonder sometimes what would happen if Painter signed the top 5 ranked players in the nation? Would they succeed as a team? Or would they struggle with each player trying to prove he is the goat?
They would fight to be the GOAT. Need team oriented players.

I don’t think I understand why the refs matter if the big ten continues to put teams in the F4 and NC?

The B1G has either had the 2nd most teams in the F4 since 2000…or at least close to it.

Except for that random year Baylor won, KU is the only big 12 team to win the whole thing from the big12 since 1946…

Purdue -5.5

Don't want Braden picking up any cheap fouls early, so maybe put him on Klesmit to start off to protect him? Tonje is one of those crafty 25 y/o sixth years and seeks contact on drives.

Cox will pressure whoever brings the ball up, so assuming he gets Blackwell.

I think coming off of a loss and it being a home game against ranked team will put the odds in Purdue’s favor. Wisconsin should get Purdue’s best shot in a rocking environment.

IF Purdue plays like they did against Michigan for stretches Wisky is good enough to win. Need the role guys to step up.
I'll go w/ we get a W but they cover

Pressing questions for the home stretch

Good guy, for sure. While he was a Purdue assistant and the recruiting coordinator, he was our instructor for “Coaching of Basketball,” lecturing in Lambert and Mackey. The class valedictorian had to be Drake Morris. George still holds Purdue’s record for the most field goals in a game without a miss – 12 for 12 against Iowa in 1971. No fluke -- he went 7 for 7 against North Dakota and 6 for 6 against Michigan State as a rookie sophomore on the eventual 1969 NCAA runner-up -- but Faerber’s specialty really was cleaning the glass. He had 21 rebounds against Tulsa and averaged 10.0 per game as a junior and wound up averaging 8.4 for his three-year career. Then he helped coach the Boilermakers from 1972 through 1979.
“That’s Faerbers Bee Windows…. BEE WINDOWS!”
