Colvin and Heide yikes

Doesn’t seem like the offense is designed for them to look to go get a shot/be aggressive.
Purdue and Indiana in football and basketball at one time or another have had1. What was their SOS before playing OSU? Serious question. I think playing OSU saved them from having a very high/low SOS. But I could be wrong.
I'm not going to argue with you about if they should have been in the playoffs. But if you don't think how they and SMU played today won't affect the committee going forward, I think you're pretty naive. Same scenario next year and Alabama, South Carolina or others will be in there.
As I said, I think IU schedules exactly like a team in their position should. Make it as easy as you can to make a bowl every year. Don't challenge yourself early, just get 3 for sure wins and then hope for the best in conference. They had a very nice year and if I were an IU fan I would be thrilled. I think if you can take off your crimson glasses you would agree they were outclassed and didn't belong in that game. But if not, that's ok no big deal.
Hell, just run it for anyone to be able to go get their shot or a good, open shot. We don’t have a dominant scorer who can score every night (ideally TKR could, but he needs help). We are way too reliant on Braden making something happen. I liked the end where Paint ran stuff for the two freshmen. We need to do more of that for Heide and Colvin.
Catchings will be in the nba. He will be drafted late first (best case) but more than likely second rd if he goes this year. He needs one more year and will go first round then.He is no NB A talent
So we lose games like this by low double digits thenMy guess is a definite yes but with a little more margin for error on defense with a potential shot-blocker and rebounder.
TJ, what do you see in the offensive sets tho? I just see Colvin and Heide not even looking to shoot or attack. Not even dribble with purpose to a spot or break their man down. They either get the ball and look for the next step in the offensive set, which is usually to Loyer or Smith OR they stand in the corner and watch TKR back down his man or Loyer or smith try to create something that’s not there. It would help if the athletes scored some
I mean I don't know why Colvin would be any bigger of a disappointment than Heide. Both are very similar players except Colvin is better defending smaller players and Heide is better with larger players.Colvin and Heide should not start the next game until they show they deserve it. Cox and Burgess should take their spots. Harris should be off first off the bench because he actually showed he can still hit a 3 pt shot tonight and gave good effort.
To me the biggest disappoint of the season is Colvin's development. He has all the athleticism in the world and I can even respect that his basketball knowledge still needs work because of how awful his high school coaching was but the dude just doesn't seem to give good effort consistently. That is the most frustrating part. And on offense, feels like he hasn't hit a meaningful shot since Ole Miss.
Loved to see the effort at the end of the game because that felt like the only effort I saw all game.
So ?Things we won't have to worry about:
1. Smith leaving early to the NBA
2. TKR leaving early
3. Team getting a big head from being ranked
Having said that, this team, I think there's something going on. I don't have any predictions but feels like one or two players will transfer end of season. It feels like someone is going to be frustrated by end of year.
I like Jacobsen. But he wasn't Edey and obviously it's unfair to expect that of him.
We'd have fewer issues obviously so better with him than without but I wonder if we'd still struggle against this athletic teams.
He is no NB A talentCox seems better. Don't get why Berg and Harris were the starters and an NBA talent was run off.
This offense is not working for Purdue, it was ok when we had Eddy in the middle and TKR is no Eddy.I mean come on. Y’all wanna try to help us out a little bit? Good lord.
And Purdue never back cuts or has many back screens. It is as though Zach is back there and so out behind the arc allowing D to be overly aggressiveHow can we never get Colvin or Heide going to the rim? Every other team manages it. We have the 2 best leapers on the court and we dont get them anything downhill. Reduced to jumpshooting. Mind boggling. Of course they rape us on the perimeter, we never punish it!
Purdue was much slower than Auburn and was sped up. I hope Purdue gets to play them again. 😁There's nice pieces to this team, truly, but those who think we can stand pat and just have our sophs blow up next year aren't watching the same games I am.
This team needs more athleticism in the worst way. We look slow against these types of teams.
Heide just wants to stay on the perimeter and shoot 3's. No interest in playing aggressive by attacking the hoop.I mean come on. Y’all wanna try to help us out a little bit? Good lord.
my point is that he has a great path for PT here esp if Klare leavesI agree, just saying if you must transfer, go where you’re actually going to play.
It would help if the athletes scored someWe need more athleticism
Thanks for the good wishes.I truly hope they enjoyed this win, it might be 6 weeks before they get another one.
Not for Paint. I don't think there's a player more the Platonic Ideal for Paint than Loyer. He’s a good player but he’s replaceable
I love your first sentence. No excuses but this Auburn team is playing better than anyone in the country right now and Purdue has a bunch of issues to figure out.No expectations
We are undersized, half court and not nearly as athletic.... on the other hand we have heart and you never know. By tournament time we could have found ourselves like we often post.
He’s a good player but he’s replaceablePainter loves Loyer. He's never seeing the bench.
I can see him getting one guy.I'm with you on 2 or 3, I doubt he will do it. But I can still hope!!
In the college basketball tournament, the highest seeds are local to the neutral site, which helps bigly with attendance.
