But how is it failing? Because you don't see the end results immediately?
.
Good question, and no; it's not because I don't see the end results immediately.

It is failing because:
  • The tariffs are not on foreign governments that may be treating American companies or consumers inequitably. They are on American companies that import products, and those costs will be passed on directly to the consumer (inflation).
  • The tariffs are already causing foreign suppliers to deprioritize the American market (supply chain issues).
  • The tariffs are NOT based on unfair trade agreements - Trump held up his chart that lied and called trade imbalances 'tariffs' levied by other countries (i.e. Viet Nam does not impose a 90% tariff on American goods - we just have a trade imbalance with them)
  • The tariffs are indiscriminate - Canada has a flat out free trade agreement with the US but we are still hitting them with a 10% tariff. China tries to screw us but we've completely eliminated some tariffs on them.
  • Building factories to produce the things that are now getting tariffed
    • would take years,
    • would cost more than the tariffs, and
    • would necessitate tens of millions of low wage factory workers that the US does not have.
  • The tariffs are causing worldwide boycotts of American goods, i.e. American Bourbon in Canada and Coca Cola in Denmark.
  • The tariffs are causing ill-will toward American companies and Americans that may not be undone easily.
So inflation, a recession, a bad stock market, anti-Americanism, and f'd up supply chains if they stay as currently constituted.

Now you tell me how they will work, incorporating the knowledge that they are not tariffs on foreign companies, but are tariffs on American companies that use foreign suppliers?

Hey here's something that will impress you: You stated that sometimes it takes years to feel the impact of policies. With Trump? Man, that dude works fast; it only took him about 14 weeks to f everything up.
Far less than that to f up the cartel drug and human smuggling business. Those repulsive criminals agree with you. Must make you proud.

Train Wreck. Clown Show.

Yeah I do agree here. Time for what specifically? We were actually in a pretty good spot before.
What do you mean by a good spot? Getting ripped off in basically every deal across the planet is a good spot? For people who want to lower the national debt, you'd think they'd be in love with tariffs. I think people just got used to the US getting ripped off and being able to look the other way on slave labor making their stuff cheap.

Fact Number 1: There are approximately 340 million people living in the United States of America

Fact Number 2: The Trump Administration states that 76.5% of Americans WOULD HAVE BEEN DEAD during the last 100 days if not for Donald Trump.

From Pam Bondi today: "I was at DEA yesterday, they said to me, “you — Donald Trump — have taken the handcuffs off of DEA agents,” and as a result of — since you have been in office, President Trump, your DOJ agencies have seized more than 22 million fentanyl pills, 3,400 kilos of fentanyl, since you’ve been, your last 100 days — which saved — are you ready for this, media? — 258 million lives.

Kids are dying everyday because they are taking this junk laced with something else — they don’t know what they are taking, they think they’re buying a Tylenol or an Adderall or a Xanax, and it’s laced with fentanyl and they are dropping dead. And no longer, because of you, what you’ve done."

Time for the tariff policy to work.
Exactly, and we have something of a timeline for that. Trump has paused the most egregious tariffs for 90 days and dozens of countries are lined up to talk turkey.

You're on here trolling the basketball board and you didn't even go to IU? Any degree? Low information voter? Any financial expertise Mr. "give the economy time?" Whooooooo boyeee.

So you have to go to IU to be a fan? Lol. And yes, you have to give the economy time. That isn't some new profound idea that was just invented. We gave Biden time. His economy sucked and he purposefully opened the borders and tried getting us into a war.

2025 Team

I know that Odom can coach but I dont know anyone can coach without players. BO have players from the previous coach, Marcus Arroyo, who was an OC for Oregon. He loaded up players on the roster but could not put it together. Ricky White and others where the hold over from the previous coaching staff. You have to remember that he also have Brennan Marion (now HC of Sacramento State) as his OC. The GoGo offense was dynamic. Scherer is a strong DC, young but strong. A couple of key games that catapult Odom's UNLV team or held it back. In 2023, it was the Vanderbilt team which UNLV beat in Vegas after trailing.2nd string QB which he did not chose save and won the game. In 2024 vs Syracuse in Vegas, he could not figure out a way to stop their lone TE on a roll out. UNLV loss that game. Can he coach? Depend what level are you talking about. Now that Purdue shown its inabilities to financially commit to FB, I dont know if Odom or anyone can.
Still, he should not commit an act that very least unethical. I dont know if this act is unlawful or now because I am not a damn lawyer.
How did they show their instabilities to financially commit to football? I've seen the exact opposite.

I don't have a degree from IU, which is why I don't vote Democrat or have a half useless piece of paper that can't pay off the debt to go to IU.

Yea, the economy needs time. Things don't happen over night. It's always been like that. Sometimes it takes years to feel the impact of policies.

Dear Leader - N. Korean Leader Kim Jung Un

These are quotes that the government of North Korean released to the masses as propaganda from senior counselors during their most recent meeting with "Dear Leader" Kim Jung Un. Does this remind you of Trump's stooges, and do we think that Trump's cabinet could ever get this bad?
  • "Dear Leader, your days have far exceeded that of ANY other in this country. Ever. Ever. Never seen anything like it. Thank you.”
  • "Sir, it’s been momentous days with you at the helm. And I view this as setting the table for peace deals, trade deals, tax deals, and the next days we’ll be harvesting."
  • “Today is a special day for many reasons. The biggest reason why we’re here is that these are the most consequential, historic days in the history of this country.”
  • “Everybody I’ve met, the one thing they say is please thank Dear Leader from all of us — the change that you’re making.”
  • “Tremendous amount has been accomplished. As everyone has said, it’s more than has been in any administration before, ever, period. So this portends very well for what will happen for the rest of the administration. I think this could be the greatest administration since the founding of the country.”
  • “Congratulations to everyone on days that’s been unparalleled in my memory — and the best I can tell ever. But it hasn’t been busy for busy’s sake. The Dear Leader’s promises made to the North Korean people have been kept time and time and again.”
  • “Dear Leader, what we have seen has been nothing short of a recruiting renaissance. Decades, it has been decades since we’ve seen this kind of recruiting of men and women of North Korea who want to join the military led by Dear Leader.”
  • “Dear Leader, I want to thank you for your leadership, for giving me the busiest days of my life and most exciting and most rewarding and there’s over the next days we’re going to do much, much more.”
  • “In the days of the Dear Leader, thanks to your leadership and the diplomacy that was exercised to make that happen. And that’s all credit to you Dear Leader. Thank you for the honor to be able to serve alongside you, for you, and alongside all these excellent people.”
  • “You sit in Dear Leader's office and you see these portraits of Dear Leaders past. And let’s be honest, most of them have been placeholders, they’ve been people who have allowed their staff to sign executive orders with an auto pen instead of men of action. And the reason the media attacks this administration as chaotic is because Dear Leader is solving the problems the North Korean people set about to solve. He’s actually doing the things that he promised that he would do. And Dear Leader, it’s been an honor to be part of it.”
