2025 Team

4 months ago you said Odom was a class act.

Kids are now going in the portal, transferring, then going back in the portal again in the Spring. It's a crazy, stupid world and there are seemingly no rules anymore. Unfortunately for Group of 5 programs, they get hit the worst.
Desperate times called for desperate measures in Odom and Scherer case. Is Purdue that hard/difficult to bring players into? Your TV deals and your alumni should have plenty of $ to fetch a lot of good/great players off the portal. UNLV is one of the youngest G5 school in the nation. It didn't come into existence until 1957. UNLV facilities is finally ranked amongst the best in the nation. Regardless of conference affiliation, our donors will finally get behind the program. Coach Mullen will have the resources.

Odom had to put a class together in like 3 days. Of course we picked up guys that probably weren’t going to work out. It’s hard to recruit at Purdue in general - coming off of 1-11 it was just going to be harder.

If Odom can coach, the $ will come and eventually carry the day. Doesn’t mean we are a lock to win anything in a tough conference but it’s gotta be better than the last 2 years of what we experienced.

I know that Odom can coach but I dont know anyone can coach without players. BO have players from the previous coach, Marcus Arroyo, who was an OC for Oregon. He loaded up players on the roster but could not put it together. Ricky White and others where the hold over from the previous coaching staff. You have to remember that he also have Brennan Marion (now HC of Sacramento State) as his OC. The GoGo offense was dynamic. Scherer is a strong DC, young but strong. A couple of key games that catapult Odom's UNLV team or held it back. In 2023, it was the Vanderbilt team which UNLV beat in Vegas after trailing.2nd string QB which he did not chose save and won the game. In 2024 vs Syracuse in Vegas, he could not figure out a way to stop their lone TE on a roll out. UNLV loss that game. Can he coach? Depend what level are you talking about. Now that Purdue shown its inabilities to financially commit to FB, I dont know if Odom or anyone can.
Still, he should not commit an act that very least unethical. I dont know if this act is unlawful or now because I am not a damn lawyer.

I don't think you could possibly have the appreciation for how bad this football program was before CBO walked through the door. Jeez just look at the game-by-game results last year. Ethics? Ha! This is college football dude.

Yes, Barry Odom is the first and only person to ever do this.

Oh that 2nd QB that he did not recruit or chose to starts but won against Vanderbilt it was none other than Jaden Maiava. He later transferred to Southern Cal and started for the Trojans. Did he played against Purdue?

Your previous coach was his protege'. Do you really think that the master is that much better. Brennan Marion won games for UNLV. There are games that the defense won but the majority of conference games were blow outs. The offense was explosive. The defense was stout too as you can see against Houston and Kansas. You have Correa who is Jackson Woodard's understudy.
Purdue need to pay some compensation for this poaching, IMHO.

You know it's getting crazy when the lead headline is: "Purdue lands Nebraska transfer punter" and they show a guy wearing a Washington uniform
One of the basketball transfers that was in our thread on the other board had a kid transferring from Old Dominion but the Youtube still shot was of him in his Siena jersey.

How did they show their instabilities to financially commit to football? I've seen the exact opposite.

Then go and chase after a non-committed player. Your coach is burning bridges with the coaching community. He's not alone but he joining the wrong club.

Sounds like a lot of sour grapes. If the player was committed to UNLV, he wouldn't leave under any pressure, would he?

Commitments aren't what they used to be.

You dont seems to understand the meaning of "loyalty" very much. You should never poach from your previous employer even if you can and that doesn't make it right to do so. You're just a sack of shit that cannot do your new job well enough that you resort to steal shit from your old employer. Not a good look.
UNLV's Coach Dan Mullen is not just well respected in the coaching circle but also in the media. You should not **** with a guy like that. Barry Odom is ****ing with the wrong guy.

Ooohhh I'm sure he's scared.

And yes, I seems to understand loyalty plenty.

Again, sour grapes. You knew when you called CBO a "class act" that a good number of UNLV players were going to follow him. Now it's happening in the spring too and now he's a sack of shit.

You didn't answer my question. Just talking out your rear. Do you want to answer my question or ignore the other 18 transfers he took and be mad because he's playing the game?

Sorry, I saw your mouth yapping but wasn't listening. What was your question again?

Just keep on doing it then. We will see the consequences for Purdone.

I have watched more Grizzlies games this year than all NBA games in the past ten years, which were all Mavericks games. Over the past ten years, I probably watched the same number of Cowboys games. My point is that I stopped watching pro games. The pros have all been taken over by greedy owners, players, and coaches. The bottom line is that the pros believe in winning any way you can. That I understand, and more power to them. I like to see the Mavs and Cowboys do well, because it means more money for the area.

I follow college teams, and I root for the coaches who care more about the kids off the field than on the field. I feel good watching a Purdue kid play hard, knowing he's a good kid. I see their coaches as a Light for their players. I love hearing about how Purdue players continue to help their community after their playing days are over.

I hate to see the College game turn ever more drastically towards money. I realize there is no way around it. However, I will start the process of weaning myself off.

*Lot of shit. Acting like Purdue isn't financially backing Odom.
Then go after them 100 players. Even a bankrupt Colorado program managed to in hauled multiple top 100 players. Quit ripping off your former employer.
And you Pardone fans need to voice your displeasure with Barry Odom method of acquiring players. UNLV already replenish and replace Correa with players from UCLA. Mullen have his team, he is content.

Coaches take players from their former team all the time after they leave. Just happened with us and brohm as well as multiple nfl level players being bought by other teams. So if you think you’re going to gain any sympathy here for Odom poaching players, you’re dead wrong. And I’m actually happy that he’s doing it now that you’re coming here running your mouth. Maybe we can make UNLV our farm team with revenue sharing about to begin :).

Purdue has taken 20 transfers this spring. You still make zero sense

Its funny how much smack he is talking to a team with more money in the big ten. Meanwhile, his program can only fund the first two years of Mullins contract as of now because they are broke.

One word. Purdone. Beautiful word really. Well quantified and well described the sad state of affair for West Lafayette.

Please do try. We will see who which program become a farm system.
Wait, I will take that back...what in Purdue worth farming? After this year, Purdone is back to sucking the BIG dongs.

Try? We’re already doing it. And that’s before the extra 20 million a year kicks in.

We get you don’t like Odom, how many more ways are you gonna say it. If your new coach is so great and already has replaced players that came to Purdue, what’s your problem? According to you , UNLV will be better, so go support your team and quit crying.

How is Purdue a sad state of affairs? Top 3 basketball team. Good football coach coming into a program that was in the big ten championship game 3 years ago. 20+ mil in revenue share. Top tier facilities.

Purdue have been around since 1874. Has it won any national championship in either football or basketball? I am having a hard time finding any information about that accomplishment.

Ok. Good talk. Call me when you have an actual point to make. As opposed to talking out your rear and ignoring people.

Most QB starts in NFL history by Purdue QB’s.

So cute. He was also Playboy's magazine playmate of the year or something like that?
