Colvin and Heide yikes

Ignoring BW, I have Berg as most likely with either Heide and Colvin as potential. I'd actually be surprised to see any one individual outside of BW or Will transfer, but in aggregate, it makes sense that someone might bolt.

I've said this before but I also wouldn't be surprised to see all of these guys stick around if this season goes well (close to a Big Ten championship or makes an NCAAT run). I think these guys all legitimately care about winning and if next year looks like it could be a Big Ten Championship team with the potential for a FF run, you may get guys who are willing to play smaller roles to be a part of that.
What about this former target as a Furst replacement next year ?

Agree a bit here. End up in a tie at like 16-4 with MSU and they beat you but it was at their place by 2…

What do you do there? I think both get trophies but obviously MSU gets the 1 seed by virtue of simply playing us at their place. Hate that.

All teams that are tied for first after the regular season are considered co-champs for Big Ten regular season championship - then it's the tie-breakers applied for BTT seeds, and if they only played once, it's going to be the single-game winner getting the top seed. The other seeding can get quite tangled with the unbalanced schedules and records of common games among/between tied teams.

There have been several two-way and three-way ties over the years. Purdue has been involved in two 3-way ties in the NCAA tournament era, IIRC - '79 (with Michigan State and Iowa) and '10 (with Michigan State and Ohio State).

There is also the infamous footnoted four-way tie in '02 with Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio State @ 11-5, which is now in the books as a 3-way tie after Ohio State had to vacate games.

Hate the unbalanced schedules. Mega conferences are really messing up the regular season to the point of being meaningless other than for tourney seeds.

Braun Eliminates DEI

Wow....this is a reach, even for you. Now you're claiming reverse DEI in our fire departments?
The same could probably be said for jobs at the DMV, social services, etc.
I ain’t claiming anything. This hs been going on for decade and y’all know it. Look it up. This practice was all the time in big cities in the NYC, Boston, Chicago, etc. If you want to know how affirmative action was started im the first place this was one of the reasons.

This is why y’all want to get to get rid of DEI. To get back to the old way of hiring whites only. Make America great again, right.

Purdue road looks tough with those 4 tough away games. Not to mention Oregon today.
Comparitaviley, Oregon, Mich and Illinois looks like they caught a break.

Unbalanced schedules hard to figure, but certainly leave some with higher probabilities.

Down goes Michigan

I watched parts of this until Minny was down 10 and stopped checking in. My takeaway, even when they were down, was that the Gophers were playing their asses off. Nice to see Ben Johnson pull this out.
Beat game I’ve seen Garcia play since he played in 21-22 at unc and put up 26 on us when we beat em.

Wolf v Garcia in second half was super entertaining and crazy two 7 footers could do what they were doing.

2026 Recruit…

Kids dad played at Texas and is the GM of their program now. I haven't seen anything on him in a while, but in the past it was said that this kid was a perfect fit at Purdue and it was a legit possible destination for him.
But with pops as gm for UT…not looking likely for us haha.

Was trying to find news on Trey Thompson as he said he was hoping to decide by this time, but not sure if there’s anything new.

Ben seems rather calm, but his asst which was Ben's high school coach was very intense in the huddle the game before talking about bringing the physicality.

Former commit "going through it right now"

IMO, he has a better shot at making an NBA team than Euro league. That league is made up of the hardest working men and every play is contested. Clearly not his game. China maybe?
Haha. You’re probably right.

Sad to see all that potential wasted because you haven’t had a coach who pushes you and rides you when you’re out of line.

Back part of the conference schedule is really interesting, not just for Purdue, which has to be all-hands-on-deck mentality.

Similarly to 2019, Michigan and Michigan State play twice toward the end. Michigan State plays Michigan twice, @ Illinois and hosts Purdue among its last seven games. Oregon looks to have the most favorable (on paper).....you never know for sure, but there definitely are some potential really good match-ups down the stretch.

Long, long way to go before that, and other teams could fight their way into the mix.

Last 7 games:

Purdue - @ Michigan, Wisconsin, @ Michigan State, @ Indiana, UCLA, Rutgers, @ Illinois (pack your hard hat)

Illinois - @ Minnesota, UCLA, Michigan State, @ Wisconsin, Iowa, @ Michigan, Purdue

Michigan State - @ Illinois, Purdue, @ Michigan, @ Maryland, Wisconsin, @ Iowa, Michigan

Michigan - @ Ohio State, Michigan State, @ Nebraska, Rutgers, Illinois, Maryland, @ Michigan State

Oregon - Northwestern, Rutgers, @ Iowa, @ Wisconsin, USC, Indiana, @ Washington

Down goes Michigan

Tough game to watch down the stretch of regulation with all the official reviews. Damn it's getting bad.

Nice result though. Turned it on with Michigan up 10, like 51-41 or something, and the next time I looked up it was tied. There's not a lot of talent on that team but they hit big shots and just hung tough.
