We jumped from 27 in kenpom to 21. We need more 20 point wins
Should be fairly easy to replace last year's version of DT.Right now on paper we may be close to where we were last year. If we can just pick up an all American safety to replace Thienemans skill level… then we will be better!

That's a great question. My guess is that's not the type of conversation Painter is having with players but I agree that it makes sense to illicit feedback from your senior star point guard.Do you think Painter would have a 1 on 1 with Smith and say "What do you need me to get you from the portal?". (meaning, what does Painter need to go get in the portal to makes Smiths job easier and build a NC team)
You sure about that? Cuz All that SEC talent has resulted in only 2 appearances in the F4 the last 5 tourneysIndeed. Oregon looks good. But we will see how they shake out in the B1G schedule. This has been an ongoing problem for the Big Ten. Over the years the amount of elite talent has started to drop off. A lot of it going to the SEC. The thing about the Big Ten is that coaches are good at game planning against other Big Ten schools. It isn't like Big Ten schools aren't good, they just aren't elite. Like the past two years there was Purdue. There have been great years throughout the 2010s where you had Michigan State who was nationally elite. Ohio State. Purdue. Wisconsin. Illinois a couple of years. Indiana a couple of years. Maryland a couple of years. Michigan. Just don't have that elite talent and nationally elite teams. Oregon, UCLA and Michigan State look like the best. Michigan and Purdue right behind that or even in that group.
Smith certainly canYea... Neither of those guys are going off for 30ppg in the NCAA tourney.
Lol yes. Just wanted to make sure you knew we did not claim himThe strangest species known to man.
Bank Shot is an IU fan. I'm pretty sure the Illini have beaten them a few times in the past 10-15 years.I know it’s been 10-15 years since we’ve beat you and all, but you REALLY underrate the Illini.

Illinois fans don’t.Nah - I really thought you would beat us at home last year and Smith said no - don’t underestimate the Boilers
IU sucks, now STFU
You are an idiot. Georgia actually looked like the better team, just made some mistakes, largely by their backup qb. Indiana was dominated by ND.

cant prove yourself with that low of a number of attempts. And why do you think that is? They haven't proven to have the ability to do much if they do have it.
And we all saw how that turned out!! Meanwhile people said all year how bad the Big Ten was in 2005, and we had 3 Elite Eight teams, 2 Final Four teams and 1 team in the NC game. I just think beyond the obvious (e.g., the SEC looks really good this year), it’s really hard to say a conference is up or down. That’s fair. I guess vs last year there doesn’t look to be two top ten teams, but who knows how it will shake out.
To your point, prior to last year it’s been since the ‘20/‘21 season since the conference was really strong at the top, with IA, IL, OSU and Michigan all finishing in the top ten that season.
