Please don't play dumb on this. Biden announced that he would pick a black VP BEFORE he chose one. That's the difference. He did the same thing with Justice Ketanji Brown. Biden announced he would pick a black woman BEFORE he chose Brown. In both cases, being a black woman was a prerequisite for the job.

Tim Albin is the head coach at Ohio. He was on Frank Solich's first staff there way back in 2005. He had a major hand in building that program over the past two decades and has done a great job maintaining it since Solich retired.

I am NOT advocating Albin for Purdue. He's 59, has limited head coaching experience, and seems to be rooted at Ohio. I am pointing out how important it is to have the right guy running your program. And Albin is absolutely the ideal fit at Ohio.

Gaetz had the potential to be a political liability. By resigning from his seat in the house, the investigation into him was dropped. It's highly unlikely he would have been confirmed as AG, a battle probably not worth fighting for Trump.
Trumps eliminates 2 hurdles, Gaetz clears his name and becomes a highly paid lobbyist. Done and Done.

The ESPN playoff calculator has IU as 96% likely in, a percentage likelihood that incorporates IU as a 13.5 underdog at OSU and (I would expect) a 20+ point favorite at home against Purdue.

In other words, if IU loses to OSU by two touchdowns and beats Purdue by 20-ish, they're in. If they exceed those expectations they're in with a good seed. If they massively underperform to those expectations the 96% goes down.

Here's how: iu gets smoked by OSU 45-10. Purdue takes a 31-7 beating at MSU.
PU comes to iu at 1-10, one of the worst teams in P5 to add on to iu's already crap SOS.

I watched the match, Purdue has a nice team, once again a top 16 team that likely sees their season end in the 16 or 8 rounds, Shondell is a helluve Coach however he needed to get a portal recruit last year, the team it seems is a player short. On Dig City he mentions how they’re going to look for one this offseason, might be the difference between a good or a great tournament run!

Interesting point made yesterday about the IU v OSU game. The point was that if OSU wins, IU should NOT be awarded a playoff slot.

The reasoning is the strength of schedule. The IU preseason is the weakest of the ranked teams. The second point that caught my eye is that IU has not played any Big Ten team in the upper half of the conference, although Washington cracked that ceiling at 4-3/6-5. Normally Michigan would be there, but not this year.

At this point Washington is their only foe with a winning record.

Are they better than Purdue? Absolutely, but that is not my point. We might have 4 wins with their schedule.

While I hate iu as much, probably more, than anyone, you play the schedule you're dealt. They've done that, and pretty much dominated.
Now, would I love to see OSU hang 63 on them and then have Purdue piss on their parade, Abso-fricking-lutely. Nothing would be more satisfying than to see iu's magical season end in a massive train wreck.

Agreed. Even "progress" shown by winning 4 games next year against our worst competition will not re-energize the fan base or demonstrate that Walters has the team heading in the right direction.
He's lost the team, recruits and fans. That's the triple option of a program death spiral.

Purdue will need a miracle to beat iu. Stranger things have happened and you never know with a rivalry game.
But, I suspect this is the year for iu to take out many years of frustration and try to get some attention from the playoff committee by hanging 70+ on Purdue.
The good part is, and embarrassing defeat to iu might force MBob to make the call.
