Tom reporting Walters likely to return…

I’m not shocked Purdue has struggled this year, given the circumstances you list, but the mini- renaissance late last season should have been an indication that CRW was building something— he himself said he had “everything he needed” to compete…

September 2024 rolls around , and we witness this absolute disaster of a team: poorly prepared, poorly coached, and consistently unwilling to compete. That is NOT a $$$ issue, it’s a leadership issue.

Should Purdue allocate a LOT more to the football program? Absolutely, but that in no way excuses the proven fact that CRW is a terrible coach.

His job this year was to demonstrate the capacity to teach technique, implement a scheme and a culture of competitiveness In order for kids to get better over time— I see no evidence of that.

I have a simple question: is ANYONE on this roster a better player today than they were a year ago at this time???

I sure as hell don’t see it.
To me, this was a big knock on Brohm. Guys on the fringe never seemingly took jumps but the studs were good and always good.

With this coach…we are lucky if guys stay the same and don’t regress. What a far fall in just a few years.

OT!! - IU STINKS!!!!

I don’t bet on sports games, so I don’t really care who won or lost. I didn’t even know IU was playing Louisville and didn’t really care. I thought this was a Purdue forum.

Maybe you need to change the title to be Purdue and IU forum. You people post as much about IU as you do about Purdue. You talk about all of IU’s games. You talking about their coach. You talk about their NIL. You talk about their recruiting. You talk more about IU than IU fans talk.

I don’t understand what’s your obsession with IU?

I think I shall start talking about my other schools I graduated from. It’s just as related as your talk about IU!! Let’s go Roadrunners!!! How ‘bout them USF Bulls! Go Georgia Bulldogs! Salukis are the best!
WTF is your deal? Once again trying to hijack a thread and make it about you and what you want it to be. You’re not that important

OT!! - IU STINKS!!!!

It is not as intense now as the Keady and Knight year...
How could it be? Keady vs. Knight was a battle for the fate of the world. It was good vs. evil. At least that's how I saw it as a kid.

Painter vs. IU is mostly just a clinic on how to depress Indiana fans for 20 years. At least that's how I see it as an adult.

Indiana Getting Pushed Out?

The team that should be worried is the B12. Tulane is ranked one spot behind their tied leader Arizona State. If Tulane wins and two of those B12 leaders lose ... there may not be any B12 teams in the playoffs based on the rules for the Top 5 seedings. The committee seemed to say when interviewed last night, there isn't much can happen for IU to be out of the top 10.
But it may be too 9 is my point. If there are 3 AQs behind them (right now there are 2 with A&M possibly the 3rd) and no one drops (no way does Texas or Georgia drop below indiana with losses to A&M). It seems like it’s set up to get 2 ACC teams in. I would say the odds of indiana making it are better than 80% but there is a pathway for clemson and/or A&M to get in.

OT!! - IU STINKS!!!!

The Big Ten has already pulled off some major wins, what are talking about? Take your IU beating like a man!
The Big Ten will get propped up by some numbers but it hasn't been good.

Big Ten has wins over Alabama, South Carolina, Texas, TCU, Virginia Tech x2, Washington State, Arizona, Oregon State, UCF, Creighton, Villanova, Pittsburgh,
Colorado, Texas A&M, Notre Dame
Losses to: New Mexico, Dayton, Nevada, Wake Forest, Kansas, North Texas, Marquette x2, Texas A&M, Saint Mary's, California, Alabama, Utah State, Kennesaw State, Clemson, Memphis, Louisville

I grew up a Purdue fan. However, I grew up with a family of IU fans. When Purdue and IU played it was intense. It is not as intense now as the Keady and Knight years, and also IU has not had a decent team in 8 to 9 years, but it still intense to this day.

Similar to other posters on here, yes, it is Purdue discussion as top priority sure. However, with IU being our biggest rival, I love to see them do bad. When IU gets absolutely wiped off the court, as they did today, I love it as much as others on here do. I will post IU comments on here all the time when it happens. I think this loss was a great start to the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

Hope that helps a little in context.

Yeah there are 2 main headlines right now.

1. Can the committee kick Indinia out because of SOS if certain things happen. I had Clemson at 12 this week, but I think they are quite a bit behind 11 if they were to do raw number rankings/votes/whatever. It was easy for me to rank the Top 11, that's for sure. Clemson beating SC would be better than the alternative, simply because Clemson is higher than SC and they have the brand. But I think they'd have to blow out SC to make a difference, and that's even a maybe. Plus there could be other upsets above IU. Right now IU is -2000 to make the playoff on my site.

2. Tulane. If you pay attention to the schedules, I think it's unlikely. Probably as unlikely as IU not making it. Arizona St, Colorado and BYU all have the easiest games on the B12 slate this week, 2 of them at home. Assuming at least 2 of them win, you will have a B12 champion at 11-2. Even if it's a team below Tulane now, I foresee the committee bumping them up. Although Tulane does play 2 challenging games. I'd actually love to see it, except for the fact that I put in a parlay several weeks ago with BYU making the playoff.
