Colvin and Hiede

It’s very simple…Paint read all of our posts from this past summer that said our best lineup would be Smith, Loyer, Colvin, Heide and TKR. 😂 😂 😂

But in all seriousness, I think Myles was a bit timid and walking on eggshells a bit because he didn’t want to make a
Mistake that would lead to reduced mins. I think once he figured out that wasn’t happening this year, he has been able to play more relaxed.

With Heide, man I don’t know. I’m not sure if coaches got after him and told him to wake up or what, but it was VERY concerning the first few games we all watched. Not sure if he was hurt or didn’t want to make the wrong decision, but he seems more relaxed now too and playing his game.

Going to be a toughhh stretch from here on out and looking forward to seeing how these guys do. Hope they keep it up because they raise the ceiling for the team greatly.

Colvin and Hiede

Yesterday Myles started the game with a break away dunk and ended it with a fabulous two point in the paint , both of these guys have suddenly had the switch turned on ..
Was interested in your guys take on what happened from the rather quiet preseason first 3 games till post Marquette?
I think you answered your own question. The switch turned on. I see it at work with new hires. We throw a lot at them, follow up and support them and sometimes someone struggles to hit their efficiency rate. Then one day they get there. They always say they don’t know what happened. Something just clicked.

Burgess

It’s early he needs to develop and let the speed come to him. And get conditioned. By end of year you hope he makes big strides. We will also play bigger teams and we will need him. We won’t be able to get away with Heide at the 4 as much as we did the past 3 games.
I’m not so sure. Just like we will have to adjust, so will they. They will need to have their big guy guard Heide and pretty sure they won’t be able to keep up. So it’ll be interesting to see how we counter with two bigs on the other team. Worked well against Bama but they don’t play defense 😂 so against teams like IU (they don’t play defense either or rebound), Michigan, Nebraska etc that play with two 6’9+ guys in the front court, we may need to do some adjusting.

Smith's shooting

I think Smith benefited greatly from the big screens set by Edey…
Still gotta knock em down though. And he hasn’t hit the open ones as much as he did last year. He has tried fading more and while he can hit it, he’s making it hard on himself. Pretty sure he will start to get more open looks once teams go to drop coverage more to stop TKR on the dive from the PnR.

Indiana Getting Pushed Out?

If USC beats Notre Dame, does a two-loss ND get in over a one-loss IU?
It does. They beat some good teams (A&M and Louisville). Also indiana doesn’t show up. You can get tix to todays game 50 yard line for $13. Indiana has bad tv ratings too. Only 1M watched the Washington game. No way does big ten get a 4th team that is indiana and ND get left out. It probably means ND loses their home game though.
