2024-25 Purdue Transfer THREAD

Purdue redshirt freshman QB Ryan Browne has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, per a report by Matt Zenitz and Chris Hummer.

Browne had 532 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions across eight appearances this season, including two starts.

Opens the door for Divola…if he stays…

Why doesn't the University help support athletics financially?

College athletics is a big time business. It's well past an arms race. You either pay to play or fall behind. Strong athletics drives name recognition and funding well beyond the ath dept.
It's not always about paying the player but whom you pay. This is going to be a free agent market every year.

Names to see in the market are Keanu Koht, but most likely will end up at Vandy and Mylan Graham who received a little over 50k with other WR's on the same team receiving 400k plus. My bet he'll transfer out to Tennessee with an NIL deal of 450k plus.

Purdue recruiting Brian Kortovich flips to Penn State

As Boiler Upload has reported for the last month, Penn State's pursuit of three-star tight end commit Brian Kortovich has paid off as the Cleveland, Ohio native flipped to the Nittany Lions today. Kortovich completed his official visit over the weekend and now jumps ship after Ryan Walters was fired on Sunday, but the flip was in the works for much longer.

Good question.. not sure what makes up the week they are talking about.
Weeks for AP Poll are Monday-Sunday, so yes both of these games will be part of it. As DDD said, if we lose one it will depend on other teams, but only a couple of conferences are playing conference games this week. So most teams have buy games except for the ACC-SEC challenge.

Hell to pay

This is the threat Trump issued to Hamas and the palestinians holding hostages that if thy're not released by the day he takes office.
Something tells me the hostages will be released before he takes office........

Why didn't Biden/Harris make this ultimatum in Oct 2023?

Step back and ask.....what more can Trump do that Israel already is or hasn't done??

I think if "shooting" was Matt's priority we would already see Cox with major minutes. My guess is that Matt thinks he has enough firepower and is interested in other things rather than firepower...AND may like Cox as a scorer coming off the bench.
There is zero reason to believe that Painter cares about as a "scorer" off the bench. I think Painter knows where his bread and butter is and that's Smith, TKR and Loyer and that at least 2 of them will always be on the floor.

Is this true - The first move of Coach_Walters . . .

Yes, Walters did clean house a bit. Were some mistakes made in doing so? Probably. I saw the tweet you're talking about, it was from former linebacker Ben Kreul. Good special teams guy under Brohm.

Any new coach, especially in the current portal world, is going to want to bring his own guys in. Walters may have not done that very tactfully, I don't know. But it's becoming par for the course these days.

It's ironic. The number of Arab Americans in Michigan and perhaps around the US that voted for Chump instead for Harris because of Biden/Harris support of Israel.
Trumps support of Israel has been well documented long before this election.
He's going to severely punish those that do not comply with his demands or who continue to attack Israel.

His threat of "Don't" will actually have consequences, and harsh ones at that. Unlike Biden's which was ignored and laughed at.

Dunno but perspective, he was able to field a rather good team this year without NIL and knowing his players have to go serve. Not easy to recruit to that sort of situation.
Sounds like he's interested in the Purdue job and likely what Bobo looks for in a leader this time around. A very experienced HC who's built up a program and had sustained success at a difficult place to win. Midwest ties and can develop players. Maybe he could convince his cousin to come over as OC!

Why doesn't the University help support athletics financially?

If we were talking about modest facilities and local-centric travel, like a high school has then sure I could see that Bone. But have you ever seen some of the revenue sports’ facilities? Of course you have. No academic money should be used for an arms race producing that kind of opulence, nor anything related to over-or under-the-table paying players with NIL.

Top of the square should be 11.5 feet (11 ft 6 in) above the playing floor.
