Lmao. Cupps and Newton are gone regardless—they aren’t getting PT.

If IU has the season that most fans want, Rice, Carlyle, Reneau, Mgbako and Tucker are all gone with the departure of Woodson. So IU would be looking at a whole new roster….unless super seniors, Leal and Galloway, are back again?
Leal and Galloway can't come back. This is their COVID year. But Rice, Carlyle, Reneau, Mgbako and Tucker don't have any sort of NBA stock at the moment unless they are transferring. And them transferring would probably be determined on who the next coach is. As for Newton, he could leave and go back down south. It's just been a super rough go for him because of all the injuries. This year is the first year he's really been able to play in a game since his Junior year of HS I think. I don't see Cupps leaving. Unless he wants to drop down a level to play.

Looks like it's a done deal...

so , who was you're choice?
My contention was that Purdue wouldn’t be desirable to a top tier offensive mind even from g5 because that mind would want to know where his war chest was and Purdue would say that they don’t really do “that.”

I was told this was tired.

Barry odom is what you get when I ended up being right. Walters managed to screw us by being as bad as he was. Had he been just slightly bad and then been fired next year, now Purdue can sell revenue sharing to said coach. Now you hire Odom and if he’s just okay, people will say “you can’t fire a guy after one 5-7 season just because Purdue is a more desirable location due to revenue sharing being finalized.

The upside of this is a Bret bielema like performance. But bielema is doing it with wealthier alum who care about sports and with better access to Chicago athletes

Help me understand, Wrong Shot:

What compelled you to come here and spout your super-scary hoops intellect? Are any other fan sites unfortunate enough to be subjected to your brilliance?

I’m guessing you’re simply the latest in the parade of indinia fanbois who are desperate for validation from BIg Brother.
Are you bothered by opinions that don't like exactly with yours?

UNLV Interim not OC

Full Ride with Childers and Neuheisel (sic?) talked at length about the Oklahoma St situation this morning. Basically it's a disaster. Picked to be near or at the top of the B12 this year, they didn't win a conference game. So they made a deal with Gundy that instead of firing him, they cut his salary and his buyout, and that money seems to be funneling to the players somehow. They talked about the DC hire, but nothing about OC that I heard. But if his salary got cut, you have to think the assistant pool didn't get any bigger, so Purdue, with Odom, in the better conference, would have to be a better opportunity.
That figuring out of how the money “goes to the players somehow” is the kind of innovative thinking that schools who kick Purdue ass seem to always come up with. Well, since mollenkopf had Meyer anywya

Looks like it's a done deal...

His UNLV OC is a top innovator. If we can get him I think we probably win 6 year one.

His OC hires have generally been impressive. He revitalized Tennessee’s HCs career and has made some good hires.

There’s a lot to like about it…he’s the type of guy who can win here at a level that meets our expectations and sustain it for 6-8 years. Isn’t that what we want?

Or were you holding out for Saban?
If the oc comes with great .. but then you have to hire equal innovators when said innovator gets a top job

I told you what I was holding out illiterate moron. Offensive innovator. How you get that that means saban is ridiculous. You claim that the job is a good one. Should be easy to find an offensive innovator at the cradle of QBs if you are going to pay for players.

OC

So, if it's true that he couldn't bring his OC, does he go P5 for an OC or find a guy in the group of 4?

I'd say, find a guy who has a B10 ready QB, RB and some OL who will come with him.
Say you’re a great p5 or even g4 OC. Why would you go to a school that doesn’t pay? You want the perception of what your offense brings to the table to be formed by big WRs who can’t run?

Braden Just Good

Oh I agree Myles knows his limitations and is doing what he can. It's his limitations that are disappointing for me. I had hopes that his game would include better ball handling and he could attack more off the dribble this year. Not bashing him at all. His improvement on defense and rebounding have been a big help so far this season. For this team and his future as a pro, better handles will be a huge key.
True and his D (imagine all of us talking about that this year) improvement and boards are a big help. Relative to the D....what is even better is that he is defending the PG on the other team and not just a 3 man which would have been a nice jump. He brings size and some athletic ability in defending the PG. He is playing sooooooooooo much faster this year

Daniel Penny, American Hero.

3 guys attacked Rittenhouse. One with a 2x4/Skateboard, one with a gun (who Rittenhouse literally 'disarmed') and I forget what weapon the 3rd guy had. Rittenhouse defended himself appropriately. God bless him.
How are his lawsuits against Biden and the media going anyway?

Are you contributing to his defense fund for the lawsuit brought against him for wrongful death?

Berg

Furst is much quicker laterally on defense, he gives Painter options for switching.
Bingo. Furst isn't a shot blocker but he can guard on the perimeter and in the post. He can also hedge or switch off screens versus playing drop coverage.

I don't buy that Berg is 'so slow' but he's going to be a liability on the perimeter against 5's who can shoot threes or drive and he's going to have to play drop coverage versus switching on screens. I don't think he's scoring, rebounding or blocking shots at a high enough level to offset those weaknesses on defense. I hope he continues to get some playing time against traditional bigs as I think he's continuing to get better as he gets more comfortable.

Anyone hear how the new coach and team meeting went yesterday?

From what I have heard 2 players were late and were asked to leave. Don’t know the names.

Being an athlete previously, if my team would ever come close to a record like 1-11, we would never be late. We would be living in the gym and training facilities. Some of todays athletes are just different

Being early is being on time, being on time is being late, being late is unacceptable.

Anyone hear how the new coach and team meeting went yesterday?

I'm liking what I've heard from him in the introductory press conference and q&a session on BTN right now. He sounds like he will be flexible in building the offense and defense around the skillsets of our players. "Not asking players to do something they physically can't." This is what I think ultimately led to Walters' failure. Too many players were being asked to do things they weren't capable of doing.
what I liked was that he mentioned building the team around OL's and DL's, for so long our lines have been pretty weak. Not mentioning the big dogs in the conference, always admired teams like Wisky, Iowa, and Minny ( under Fleck) have big physical lines
