I come to bury the playoffs, not to praise them

People can bitch about the games and format but the outcome will be pretty undeniable as to who the best team is in the end IMO.

I prefer the top 8 format the most with maybe some intra conference divisions/playoffs first but this basically gave us 8 football games we wouldn’t have gotten in previous years/formats. I won’t complain…and my other team got sent home at the Sugar Bowl.

Some positive WBB News

I know the program has a lot of negative vibes right now - to the pleasure of a certain poster here - but I'd like to acknowledge some positive news. Kira Reynolds just recorded a quintuple - which is extremely rare for any basketball player to do at any level. She recorded 14 pts, 18 rebounds, 12 assists and 11 steals. She really seems to be super talented. Her and Gordon may be the keys to possibly get this train moving.

We need.......................

Colvin was pretty damn good yesterday on defense and his offense came alive a bit. Heide looks very timid and back to his first of the season ways. Not sure why and maybe that’s just who he is.

Colvin isn’t leaving. Heide…I’d give 20%
I hope MC stays, but if he and his family have pro hopes, (whether realistic or not), that could factor into his decision.

We need.......................

I think Purdue will have to put together a competitive offer, just like they did this year. I think Braden recognizes what he has at Purdue and wouldn’t look to go elsewhere unless the money were so much greater that he couldn’t say no.

This is all based on the assumption that Purdue has a decent season. If they’re not winning, Braden may be tempted to go somewhere where he has a chance to make it back to the final four.
If you have a Boiler background (watch the games), I don't see how you could think this won't be a top 10 team next year. Including team members.

I hope they stay as well, but if Painter decides to hit the portal, those are the two positions of need. The comparisons with Newman are spot on. Flashes of brilliance followed by long stretches of 'meh'.

IU looking to pickup big road win at Penn State

We’ll see, not going to lie, I didn’t look at their remaining schedule. Being a name school that likely wins 10-12 Big Ten games my guess is they’ll get it.
If they go 10-10 in conference, they better have some big wins and I wasn’t counting any of those when thinking they’d go 10-10. If they do that, they’re on the bubble for sure.

He is back before it is official!

Bob, your article was written Nov 28th. The article that @Quix0te linked was from Dec 12, so his is more recent. I know your TDS makes it impossible to give Trump credit for anything, but the Mexican President appears to be moving because of Trump.

Here's more from the article that you probably didn't read:

The timing is no coincidence,” said Eduardo Guerrero, a security analyst in Mexico City. “President Sheinbaum’s agenda has changed radically with the triumph of Trump and with the threats he directed at Mexico.”

There is deep anxiety here about the potentially devastating impacts of tariffs on an already sluggish economy that is heavily dependent on trade. The United States accounts for more than 80% of Mexico’s exports.

They were clearly not prepared for Trump winning the way he won, and Trump saying the things he has said since the election,” said Jorge Castañeda, a former foreign secretary. “So they are doing what they can to catch up, a little on the fly. To make Trump and the Americans in general feel like she is trying to do things to make Trump happy.”
For all of these countries that are so dependent on the US for trade, Trump is going to win every one of those negotiations. They have almost zero leverage.
Biden/Harris on the other hand, would have been hoodwinked into agreeing to some economic catastrophe.

Harris botches the Pledge of Allegiance!

We are talking the intelligence of the VP, But on queue you bring up the Willie thing which has nothing to do with anything. Harris was ELECTED DA by the voters of CA. Harris was ELECTED Attorney General by the voters of CA. Harris was ELECTED to the US Senate by the folks of CA. Not Willie. With those credentials she was more than qualified for, just as much if not more than her VP predecessors and was selected as VP by Biden.

How did Harris use the color of her skin to graduate? It is actually white women, through affirmative action that used their gender to get into schools and employment. Y'all say absolutely nothing about that. I guess you don't like Justice Clarence Thomas or Dr. Ben Carson since they used their skin color to get into Yale.

White folks invented racism in the 15, 16 centuries. It is a shame that in 2025 that white folks are still threated by and hate diversity.
Most importantly though, Harris was NOT elected to be POTUS. That honor went to Donald J Trump, and we should all be very grateful for that.

We need.......................

Both have family ties to Purdue, but I would not rule out them testing the market as I feel they probably believe that they could be much more effective in a different offensive scheme. That’s just my take on the situation. Wouldn’t be completely taken aback if there was a departure.
I think we as fans put a little too much into the loyalty aspect of college players. It's a different game now with the portal, ease of transfer, NIL, etc. For some players, these are as much business decisions as they are about where a player dreamed of playing or where his parents/relatives played.

Panama Canal

Trump has been talking about getting the Panama Canal back, but we really need to build a new canal across Central America without locks. The Panama Canal is too slow and too small to accommodate today's large container ships and oil tankers.

I haven't been following this closely, but that is what has confused me about all of this. I didn't think the canal was used for much commercial traffic anymore because it wasn't big enough, so don't understand why it's that big of deal.

Guessing it's still used more than I realized.

Big Ten

Nope. Pretty large expectations based on what we Saw. ;)
Hopefully 20 solid lbs heavier and that kid will make a difference.
He doesn't even need to do that much, it's freeing up Trey to go against 4's that wins us games.
But additional outside shooting is always a plus.
That it draws the other teams 5 out of the rebounding area isn't bad either.
That and his rim protection,
Doesn't need to put up impressive numbers anywhere to be the X factor.
You must have seen him play more minutes than I did. How many did he play before he got injured?
A 7'4 guy coming off a major leg injury is always concerning.
I think he's talented and can do a lot of things well but I'm not sure I'd be relying on him to be the starting 5 if Painter thinks he has a FF team next year.

She used Willie to get elected.... while Willie used her. And yes, I know women of ALL color are capable of graduating and when they do without using the color of their skin to get there, makes it even more likeable.

By all means you should simply accept what trump tells you as fact. Good minion.

Illinois - are they the team to beat?

Didn't get to see it.....but how in the world did NW beat IL?

The NW team we beat today, looked like it was a league cellar dweller. Which indicates how good our D was I guess.....and how great Mackey is.
You know how that crap goes, rivalry game on the road can be difficult. We know all to well lately the struggles at NW lol. Illinois is very good, I think they win the league.
