may have scored too quicklyTD!!!
He left behind good linemen on both sides and defenders. Just had a pop Warner scheme that only worked on offense if you what Jim tressel’s players. You and I remember the Hazell days much differently.
Now, if we could that defensive sparkHe’s been the spark the offense has been lacking.
He’s been the spark the offense has been lacking.Browne has played his ass off today. If he isn’t the starter going forward I won’t watch until Walters is gone.
Totally agree!Gentlemen, I think we have finally found our QB
Again, I would have loved to have been in the room when CRW told him he was fired because his offense sucked...... Really Ryan.....?!Nice to have a defensive minded coach
This is really devolved into “I know you are but what am I” territory. No, they don't. Not even close to the garbage spewed at assembly mall.
You and I remember the Hazell days much differently. His offense was basically a bunch of Jim tressel plays that would have worked if he had Maurice clarett, and not low level 3 stars, but at least he could hang his hat on tough linemen and defensive players. I can’t tell you what this team can hang their hat on.
It was a bad team last year. Okay fine. Kirk ferentz won 4 games in two years.
The team looks like they went 4-8, left the day after their last game and then showed up a week before their first game
Darrell hazells teams weren’t any good, but at least you could see where they were trying to improve.
When was the last time Purdue was down 24 to Illinois? Brandon Hanse??
Yeah… those “Purdue sux” cheers that everyone does at every IU game, even when not playing Purdue are really offensi…. Ahhh, never mind. You are supporting my point. Because they get into trouble, they don't do it. It's a different culture. At IU, the culture is "everyone does it", even when they don't.
I think that’s the biggest takeaway from all of it.
Add an incompetent coach. A nonsensical D scheme. A soft mentality. A physically soft team. A team with poor fundamentals. We actually play WORSE than our talent level.
We could hire an average G5 level coach and things couldn’t help but be better. With deeper pockets than we have ever had…I know we can do better than that. Time to find fit (scheme, culture, players)vs trying to find the lighting in the bottle guy.
Jeff Zgonia played his guts out that day and Holrz sought him out. That's a fascinating story about Holtz; excellent coaching.
