He is back before it is official!

Yeah, this has been going on for a couple of years now. US based steel company Cleveland Cliffs has 3 steel mills along here on Lake Michigan near Gary, IN US Steel. US Steel rejected Cliffs’ offer to buy. US Steel accepted Nippon’s offer. It was agreed that US Steel would keep its iconic name.

The USW union has been fighting this since day one. Nippon has promised the union that they will continue to invest billions of dollars in upgrades to ensure that these US Steel facilities continue to operate for decades to come. The mayor of Gary, IN is excited by the potential purchase. US Steel has facilities in Mon Valley and Clairton near Pittsburgh. Those mayors are supporting the purchase also.

Meanwhile, both Chump and Biden have been outspoken about the proposed Nippon US Steel purchase. They both are against this. Right now, the ball is in Biden’s court. Supposedly he has the power to reject this purchase. A decision is reportedly to be made soon by Biden.

Personnally I wished that US Steel would have accepted the bid to buy from Cleveland Cliffs. Nippon offered a lot more. If Nippon’s promises billions in upgrades and 10 years of jobs security come true then it may turn out to be a good deal. Because currently there is a reason that US Steel wants to sell. I’m not sure in its current state of affairs that they will or will not close any plants.
Joe's waiting on Hunter to complete his shakedown, er due diligence, of Nippon before rendering a decision.

New YorkCNN —
US Steel shareholders overwhelmingly approved a deal for the iconic American manufacturer to be purchased by Japan’s Nippon Steel. But the outlook for the controversial merger has never looked so bad.

The deal is significant, not just for the future of what is still a key US industry central to building everything from cars to appliances to roads and bridges, it is also at the center of election year politics and relations between the United States and Japan, a major ally.

There was no resistance from Biden to this takeover.

Where's your concern about this move?
Looks like Biden blocked the Nippon Steel deal to buy U.S. Steel.

He did and it surprised the hell out of me. I honestly don't think it was his idea, but that someone told him to do it. Right now, Joe doesn't know much of anything.
Well, Nippon Steel and U.S. Steel are suing the government over this. So, it ain't over yet.

By all means you should simply accept what trump tells you as fact. Good minion.

Bob, your article was written Nov 28th. The article that @Quix0te linked was from Dec 12, so his is more recent. I know your TDS makes it impossible to give Trump credit for anything, but the Mexican President appears to be moving because of Trump.

Here's more from the article that you probably didn't read:

The timing is no coincidence,” said Eduardo Guerrero, a security analyst in Mexico City. “President Sheinbaum’s agenda has changed radically with the triumph of Trump and with the threats he directed at Mexico.”

There is deep anxiety here about the potentially devastating impacts of tariffs on an already sluggish economy that is heavily dependent on trade. The United States accounts for more than 80% of Mexico’s exports.

They were clearly not prepared for Trump winning the way he won, and Trump saying the things he has said since the election,” said Jorge Castañeda, a former foreign secretary. “So they are doing what they can to catch up, a little on the fly. To make Trump and the Americans in general feel like she is trying to do things to make Trump happy.”

For all of these countries that are so dependent on the US for trade, Trump is going to win every one of those negotiations. They have almost zero leverage.
Biden/Harris on the other hand, would have been hoodwinked into agreeing to some economic catastrophe.

Not everything happens because of trump's threats.
Hey Bob, I didn't want you to miss this:

"Calls for Trudeau's resignation gained momentum after U.S. President-elect Donald Trump's announcement of a potential blanket 25% tariff on Canada and Mexico if they don't take stronger action against illegal immigration and drug trafficking concerns. Trump has targeted Trudeau and Canada in recent days, with the president-elect appearing to joke about Canada becoming the 51st state with Trudeau as governor. Some of Trudeau's critics have suggested he is unable to stand against Trump's economic pressure and bullying."
