The backup center (Huff) has been very good in his limited minutes. And mostly, the defacto 4 (Jaren Jackson) is actually much more of a matchup issue for defenses when he's playing 5. Immensely athletic he doesn't have "go to" moves, instead relying on his speed and power to get past bigger, slower centers. (he's the antithesis of Zach)
Avg 23+ and 7 boards. AND the young 4's (Laravia and Wells) are playing very well when Jackson is at 5.
Young team with talent stacked up and down the lineup.
Much more what the other guys are doing right than it is anything Zach doing wrong.

Berg isn't going to be doing anything next season. We need another big this season and he isn't doing anything, not sure why folks keep thinking we don't need another big for depth because we have Berg.

We've seen this year that only having three viable bigs leaves us vulnerable. We're only going to have three viable bigs next season too. There are better players than Berg who will fit just fine with this team and culture who will be in the portal.

Any list without Ace Bailey as first team is questionable Kid leads the B1G in scoring and rebounding. Hard to remember the game of Bailey vs Harris in HS G. Harris won then as well. I knew then no one was stopping Bailey, I also knew Harris would be great.

We all know about chattel slavery. It was not race based however. Africans were being enslaved by other Africans and sold off to other countries.

Lots of good answers, also the NBA is much more fast paced game. I am guessing they are giving him shorter periods so he can give max effort on defense. Its not that Zach isnt in shape, its just that modern basketball is a running game and Zach is a 7'4 giant that can only give max effort for so long.

He should get it over Harper who may be done for the season, but probably has enough hype built up already. Just like Ace Baldwin will be all defense even though he's been bad this year.

Edit, yes they were transfer portal players but would have qualified under the old rule. Lance Jones might be one of my favorite players of all time. Never seen anyone play with such joy and so excited to be a Boiler.

David Jenkins was a solid role player off the bench, and Lance Jones worked out as well as Painter could have hoped for in being a key starter last year.

I mean the portal has been around for about five minutes so I am not sure past is prologue at this early point.

We also have two more spots opening up which isn't like before.

Painter isn't a robot who never ever ever changes anything he does ever. He can be a bit slow to change for sure but he does do it.

I am in the camp, that is a little worried of this game, even without Freeman for them. Iowa is a good home team, doesn't play a lot of Defense, but can get hot on offense. It also worries me that their star is gone for year and if rumors are right-forever. We saw last year against OSU what happened with new coach stepping in and this is similar. I could see a rallying cry for Iowa, of a selfish player left them and they will show the world they are better without him.

you get a bit confusing. Earlier you guesstimated that Asians would be treated as slaves similar to blacks. I agree, and also believe that the Irish as another example would also be treated the same should the opportunity have been there. Historically there were many occasions that whites were slaves not only to "people of color", but of the whites as well...."IF" they were vulnerable. There was no white supremacy other than they apparently were not as vulnerable or pseudo-science that led to Africans being slaves. Africans were captured and sold to slave marketers that took them to the northern ports of the USA to sell to the southern states for slave labor. Nobody is declaring it wasn't horrible and nobody is saying it wasn't a blight on humanity for thousands of years across the globe. The southern states would buy any slave sold with all things being equal other than color of skin. Now your Jim Crow and such is a different topic
