You watch the game? Refs were atrocious…just horrid. Kept Yale in the game.

Also, Yale picked second in its conference. Went to tournament last year and upset Auburn…they return 6 players from that team, including their current best player this year (the best player from last years team, Wolf, went to Michigan) .

So yeah, Wole, they are going to be good…probably will be in tournament again.
There was never a moment I thought Purdue was in trouble. Team has some areas to improve, but can score a lot

Absolutely. Just thought there were quite a few very bad calls. They let Yale be very physical—TKR said it was the most physical team he’s faced, and then would call some tough foul at the other end by Purdue. The offensive foul on Myles setting a screen was baaaaaad (at least it looked that way at Mackey IMO). But it was def a good test for the team. Friday we will get an even better one

not sure what to expect from the Tide other than a fast pace, from a good team with a great shooter. Purdue can play fast and the faster pace diminishes the boards going to the big. Running when there and playing smart will be crucial against the tide...knowing it is time to feed Trey low and not just get set in running up and down the court. Yeah, refs were bad from Mackey...haven't watched in on TV yet

I think there were a couple of bad calls, but in general not that atrocious. I think we're too focused on the blatant horrible call on the Colvin screen. That was so horrendous it outweighs the rest of it. Luckily, Yale didn't score on the other end and I think that preceded the Braden sneaky steal and basket.

Look, Yale is a very good team, with a very good coach, and a guy who can just get points from anywhere. He's actually from nearby me. He had 28 in their tournament win over Auburn last year. They just never went away and they showed a lot of poise and control. The Ivy is going to be a bit better this year top to bottom but they should be right in the thick of it.

Somewhat consistent with the minutes played.

Berg @ 1R for 19 minutes is a crime against his scholarship.

@ 7-2 you have two functions.....lane D and rebounding. On both counts he seems to be not living up to expectations. He's getting the best coaching, and is not putting up the results to justify his PT.

He needs to step up. Hope it's soon.

Yea kinda given up on him & screens. His body says should be great at it, but is always behind the speed of the game for positioning.
The one he got called for last night, either Robbie or Kevin Kugler blamed it on Braden for not setting up the screen better, but it was all Berg. He set a fine screen, but then he added a little oomph to it with his chest. Gonna call that every time.

Sears is a great shooter, but let's not forget about that Nelson guy too. I watched him last year and in some games he took over w/ his inside and outside game

Yale was up by 8 at halftime and looks like UIC went on a 15-0 run to get the lead in the second half.

We were up 13 with 6 to go and 10 with 1:50. We couldn’t get the kill shot but still we’re in control of the game. Rebounding toward the end was better with Heide and Colvin grabbing a decent amount.

I think everyone is still tryin to figure it out at this point.
